Building homes since 1927 The Jones Company story began in 1927 with the founder of The Jones Company, John E. Jones. In 1961 John’s son, Bob, purchased The Jones Company from his father. Bob Jones and his partner, Howard Chilcutt, led The Jones Company to much success, growing the company and building homes for over 15,000 families.

In 2003 Centex purchased The Jones Company’s St. Louis division from Bob and Howard. Then, in 2005 Howard founded Consort Homes in St. Louis. Ken Stricker, who was former President of The Jones Company in St. Louis, now serves as President of Consort Homes in St. Louis, and The Jones Company of Tennessee in Nashville, today. Today, The Jones Company of Tennessee is still owned by the Chilcutt and Jones families.

Lack of ability to change options past a certain point. With so many changing variables it’s impossible to get everything right the first go around. It took an act of Congress to get one small thing changed even before ground was broken. Some crews could use more quality supervision. More builders needed. They’re spread so thin the quality gets stretched thin. Liked the communication with the real estate broker. [name removed] is class.

I felt that [name removed] company cut us short with the quality of the contractors that provided to build our homes. A lot of the work was done quickly and never finished. It required a lot of extra work after close to get some things corrected.

Like: The engineering on plans and constructions Dislike: The Building management team (worst ever response) not the builders. I have been told (I still have those messages) that [name removed] build the homes based on city and their profits not for the home owners.

I have had issues of calling in warranties and not having the appointments being taken care of. I have contacted vendors directly and they have informed me I need to go through [name removed] but [name removed] has not made the appointments so I had to directly follow up. Our electrical outlet on our patio still does not work and we are also having issues with our smoke detectors going off in the middle of the night. We also need to get a weird smell in out ac vent checked out. Also our upstairs ac is not working properly. Please help me resolved these issues.

Contract was smooth. Had a builder change half way through our build and a few things we wanted could not be followed through with. The house is solid and constructed well, just very poor interior finishing. Corners are not even, grout is terrible, paint is not finished, house was not cleaned up well prior to move in. Project manager was very poor with communication which lead to many items having to be re done. Walk through was awful, had to point out many obvious issues which had the builder taken a an hour of his time to mark them, we wouldn’t have to go thorough the painstaking process of pointing out obvious concerns. Many are still not fixed...Moved in 1 month ago and there are still items we are awaiting follow up on and have not heard from the builder since. Very unprofessional.

Dislike-numerous things were discussed and confirmed in precon meetings but never ended up in the final blueprints or in the home. (Chair rail in dining, flood light location) Still have no functional master bath tile and glass shower door issues throughout still being repaired. Walls crooked with no consistency. Paint deteriorates when touched. Wood floors filled in with sharpie in numerous areas versus repaired. Had to contact city during construction to have property drainage in yard versus [name removed] doing the right thing for yard to be functional.

I want to appreciate the service which [name removed] has provided, he is really helpful and co-operative, his guidance was really helpful. Thanks for Bouch for providing good information during closing and taking care of all open items. There are few things needs to improve 1) I am real disappointed as we found issues in bricks color and my house bricks had to stained to match which still not up to the mark 2) Showers which comes default in the bathroom is not good, it takes few min to start and completely turn off 3) Backyards are not evenly cuts 4) Window sizes are not standard 5) we found lots of issues with cabinets and colors are also not uniform

I would have liked more direct interaction with the builder. The sales team was great, but having to direct all communication through them, rather than directly with the construction manager, seemed unnecessary. Our sales guy was very pleasant, always available and responsive.

Had issues with change in bylaws after signing the contract which put lot of stress . Quality of landscaping can be improved; no sod or seed on the slope of the backyard

The sales team was great! We enjoyed working with [name removed] and [name removed]. Our biggest issue was with your preferred lender. [name removed] and [name removed] provides nothing but unethical business practices and poor lender services- could not be more dissatisfied by what they put us through during the building process. Extremely happy we left them prior to closing. Happy to provide more information, in detail, their corrupt practices.
