I absolutely LOVE my home! Everyone I worked with was extremely nice and accommodating. I also appreciate the level and consistency of communication throughout the whole process. [name removed] (project manager) was fantastic and I really appreciate how he went the extra mile for me. I literally cried on my last walkthrough. Give him a raise! I also really appreciate [name removed] (sales). He was very friendly and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. He's another great one you guys should always keep on your team! On the other hand there were some issues with timing. It took an extra 2 months to complete the house but I also understand a lot of that was not Alvarez's fault. I also had some issues with an initial spider infestation. Although common for new construction, some of it could have been avoided as I asked and was told the cobwebs would be cleaned before I moved in. None of them, however, were cleaned up and I had multiple spider eggs all around my house. I had to get 2 exterminator companies to come out to get it resolved. Upon moving in my oven and dryer outlets did not work as there was something broken with the breaker. It was fixed though! Also I've only been in my home for a month but there is a leak in the guest bathroom and mold growing by the minute. I also had a shelf that was put in crooked. I will say, however, that Alvarez took immediate action as soon as they were notified and have already corrected or in the process of correcting these things. Overall I'm super pleased and would recommend Alvarez to a friend or family. Thank you for my beautiful home!

They have not finished the park behind my house. I bought that lot because it was on the park and it has been over a year and the park is not finished. I will be pursuing all avenues to ensure Alvarez finishes the neighborhood they started.

We liked the communication quality and the selection process of the building materials for our home. The final check list of items still have not been addressed and we moved in a month ago. We did finally get an email about the final items and we hope that they will be sorted out.

I’ve had four electric issues in the 6 months I’ve lived in my newly built home. The community is not 100% gated, there’s a gate to enter the community but the back half of the community has no partition to separate our community from an older neighborhood.

Punch list wasn’t finished prior to closing. House wasn’t cleaned after closing. I just moved in and they had to rip out my Sheetrock in master bedroom. I can’t sleep in there because there’s mold growth all in the walls. As an agent, this was a very difficult deal considering I deal with this on a daily basis. [name removed] the most professional experience also. The quality of the house is very nice, still working on punch list items after a couple weeks. I would be very upset if my clients had to deal with what I dealt with.

There were multiple hiccups, choices I made at the design appointment were not what was completed and upon bringing this to their attention on closing day (because multiple things were not completed by the final walk through, which is another huge problem all together) we were basically told we would have to pay to have it changed. We had photo documentation from the design appointment of our choices that were laid out by the Alvarez representative. Our only option was to half-ass fix it after we already moved in which would result in mismatched hardware on our drawers. Also we were not I formed of the very large eyesore directly in-front of our home that we were told “is an Entergy problem and they will fix it”. It is now months later and it is not fixed and they attempt at landscaping around it looks terrible.

[name removed] needs to improve in multiple areas of the construction, communication, and relationship process if they want to be set a part. I chose [name removed] because I was under the impression I was getting something different. I would say my home purchasing process and quality of work was very close to my DR [name removed] purchase. I was a very difficult client with high expectations and was let down. If you win over the clients like myself, that's where you set yourself apart. If your goal is to build thousands of shitty homes a year that is fine, but don't advertise to be different if you are not. I think [name removed] needs to look inward and see what they can change to truly set their selves apart from the bottom.

Everyone at Alvarez was pleasant and easy to work with. We always had information on time along the way. Our project manager, [name removed], was especially helpful both in updating us on the building progress and in his thorough handling in wrapping up construction. I believe we were always treated fairly and openly. We would not hesitate to recommend Alvarez to anyone looking for a home.

There was inconsistent information provided at the design meeting than what was actually provided in the house. When this was addressed, the issue was not completely accepted by Alvarez and the blame was put on us for some reason. Other than this issue, I felt the experience was very pleasant. This one issue took over a month to resolve and put a bit of a sour taste in our mouth, but it did finally get resolved.

I’m having a difficult time getting in touch with anyone there. I have an issue with the gate operators being closed without being informed first. I was locked out of my own neighborhood with no way to get in!

I liked that I was notified of each stage of the construction. It was great meeting and talking with the project Manager [name removed]. He really cares about the quality and results of the construction process. What I did not like was the way some issues were handled after the home was completed. I had some concerns about the paint selections which were selected in lighting that was different than what was in my home. I basically had to be happy with the way the colors looked or pay a hugely inflated price to have the kitchen cabinets repainted. Then I was told to make a punch list after I moved in because there might be things that I wouldn't notice until after moving in and that they would be addressed even after the closing. When I did notify Alvarez through the warranty representative, I was told that something was not under warranty because it was not discovered at the final walk through. ( These were stains on the porch that were created before I moved in and not seen at the final walk through) I am extremely happy with my new home. I feel that the quality of the construction is excellent. I feel that my home is everything that I wanted. Thanks to [name removed], the porch issue was corrected. I am just disappointed in the reaction of the office staff in regard to fixing issues. It comes down to customer service and experience. Perhaps, it is due to experience. People don't remember what you say but will always remember how they were treated.

I really appreciate the responsiveness. I have had to wait on several minor things with the house, but that is due to COVID and having to prioritize emergency responses. Overall very satisfied with their response.

It was horrible the house was built horribly. The caulking is already peeling out around the tub , my ceiling fan in my master is already broken. They were Suppose to come and fix the paint job thorough out the house due to wall painting being all over the ceiling. When they did come to “fix” things they left the mess they made and did not try to clean it. The whole expertise has been horrible and i would NEVER recommend an Alvarez home to anyone!!

Lots of things had to be corrected during the build because the wrong spec sheet was being used time and again. Plus the home had a lot of things to take care of on the punch list before closing that wasn't done and still isn't after three weeks, so I'm a bit worried.
