Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

Our issues began during the initial sales process when we were given misinformation every step of the way. For instance, we were told appliances were included in the home and changes were made to the floor plan without our approval. In addition, we received no contact initiated by Juan after the contract was signed including status, updates, additional build options or anything related to the build process. All of his responses were sparse and unprofessional. We and our realtor had to reach out multiple times via email and phone for each question before receiving a response. For all these reasons along with an abrupt change to the upstairs floorplan without acknowledgement or approval, we decided to cancel the contract. However a different sales rep, Anna Lisa, met with us and informed us that there were other houses that would fit what we were requesting. She also reached out to Robert Czar and when we met with him, he assured us that we would be working directly with him due to the messy management by Juan. That promise was broken and we were instead given to another sales associate Enrique, immediately afterward. We had zero contact with Robert after that. We also found out during the meeting that we were supposed to be receiving weekly status updates. Up to that point we had received no updates that were initiated by Armadillo. Through the build process we were finally able to get some answers from the builder, Alex, but we were not introduced to him until approximately two weeks before closing. Alex expressed exasperation that we had not been given his contact information sooner. During the final walkthrough we identified multiple issues that needed to be fixed, and some large ones which have yet to be completed two months after move in. A good example is the tile throughout the house that is uneven, chipped or broken, cement being used instead of grout, an angle grinder used to cut straight lines in the shower stalls, and excess grout. We have windows that do not line up, arches that are not straight, and a granite countertop that was cut so crookedly that it couldn't line up with the cabinets (the countertop has been fixed, the tile and arches have yet to be completely resolved). When we moved our possessions from Houston to Laredo on the 25th of April, the house was not complete and we had to stay in a hotel for about a week with a newborn and wait for it to be finished. The moving company we hired had to unload everything into the garage where it stayed for more than a week. The only positive thing we have to comment on is Anna Lisa’s communication, and Alex and Alfonso’s efforts to complete the outstanding items.
