No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

What we liked most was that we were able to get our construction questions answered directly by the builder. [name removed] always did his best to communicate what was happening, even with things that weren’t at the forefront of our minds. I truly felt that, even though he worked for Century Communities, he genuinely cared about what we cared about and wanted us to have a positive experience. On the other hand, what we disliked was the lack of knowledge from one of the sales representatives, [name removed]. He was upfront about being new, which we appreciated, but there seemed to be a lack of familiarity with the available homes and options. Had we received more accurate and complete information, we may have made different decisions during the home-buying process. [name removed] frequently had to reach out to [name removed] for answers, and eventually we found ourselves contacting her directly to avoid delays in communication or information not being relayed. We were also disappointed with the loan process through Inspire Home Loans. There was a consistent lack of communication whenever team members were out of the office. Both our loan officer, [name removed], and our loan processor, [name removed], were on PTO at the same time without any advance notice to us. Once the loan left [name removed]’s hands, we never received a direct phone call from our loan processor. When we communicated with the backup representative at Inspire, the interactions felt very impersonal, and they did not seem willing to provide much assistance. Even on the day of closing, the communication issues continued. We did not receive our Clear to Close until approximately 6:00 a.m. on the morning of closing, and then had to wait nearly an hour for Century Communities and Inspire Home Loans to provide the necessary documentation to the closing attorney. Overall, aside from the exceptional experience we had with [name removed] and [name removed], our experience with Century Communities and the loan process was disappointing. While we are happy with our new home, we believe there are significant opportunities to improve communication, training, and coordination between the sales team and lending partners to create a smoother experience for future homebuyers.

Very pleased with Century builders. Everything with the home is great! Stellar service with [name removed] and [name removed]. However, the lender was horrible. We only went with inspire for the incentive promised. We expect it to be honored. Inspire pushed the highest interest rate possible!!!! Horrible communication, worst experience ‘misled, lied to, unethical. Expecting resolution. We had Veterans United, great experiences, and definitely would have a much better rate. Please resolve this issue.

Overall, my home-buying experience was very positive from contract through closing. I chose an inventory home, so I understood and accepted that the design selections had already been made. The process was smooth, and I appreciated everyone’s efforts in helping me purchase my home. The only negative part of my experience was a phone conversation with [name removed] shortly before closing. I completed every task, submitted every requested document on time, and did everything that was asked of me throughout the process. During that conversation, I felt that I was spoken to in a condescending and unprofessional manner regarding matters that were outside of my control. After putting so much effort into ensuring everything on my end was completed correctly, that interaction was disappointing and unnecessary. Buying a home is a major milestone, and while I understand there are deadlines and procedures that must be followed, customers who have fulfilled their responsibilities should still be treated with courtesy and respect. Aside from that experience, I am very happy with my new home and grateful to everyone else who helped make the process a success.
