The home is beautiful. The land is beautiful. Issues were 1 septic issue in the first two days did not have my septic tank connected. 2 septic tank layout was flip-flopped from the original copy I received which may cause potential issues with a swimming pool project. 3 was told Locust elementary was our school and it was not. 4 during the closing process was not allowed to use my own Attorney, which was very frustrating as well. Overall, the home is beautiful. It is what we wanted. The people I dealt with for the most part we’re helpful and pleasant to deal with there was just some miscommunication and one very large slip up with the septic system, but they did address it and take care of it immediately.

[name removed] was our community sales manager that assisted us with finding the right floor plan for our family. During and after closing he has made sure to check on us and ask if we need anything. He was great to work with.

i did not like that the financing person [name removed] tried to sell me a buy down option that she said would be paid or by the seller but really she meant that it would come out of the $70,000 incentive that i had other plans for. in addition, she was basically telling me if i pay $14,000 up front, then i wont have to pay it over the next 2 or 3 years. i thought she was an honest broker but felt like she was just trying to cheat me in the end.

[Translated from ES] The attention that the Century staff gave me in guiding me through my process, answering my questions, and accepting my suggestions regarding the colors of the kitchen cabinets and suggestions for support in closing the deal.

Your closing attorney experience and your finance team is the worst finance team in the state of Georgia. Accused of not paying the deposit when I transferred $38,000 in cash to your escrow account. As a buyer that is buying the house in cash. I deserve some kind of respect but receive no respect from your finance team.

Overall, my purchase experience from contract through move-in has been extremely disappointing. Throughout the process, I experienced repeated communication issues, delays, and construction concerns that significantly affected my confidence in the quality of my home and the level of customer service provided. Prior to closing, there were concerns regarding the foundation that required additional inspections. Obtaining documentation and updates regarding these issues proved difficult, and many of my requests for information went unanswered or required repeated follow-up. Communication was often inconsistent, and I frequently had to contact multiple individuals before receiving any response. My requests for additional inspections were ultimately denied due to [name removed]’s failure to communicate and coordinate those requests. Additionally, after my home inspection failed and I mentioned arbitration, I was told by [name removed] that I needed to close on the home at the scheduled time and date or I would forfeit the home (initial downpayment, over 45k), which I perceived as a threat and added significant pressure during an already stressful situation. I also experienced concerns regarding changes made during the construction process that were inconsistent with my expectations at the time I entered into the contract. For example, I purchased a home with a three-car garage after discussions and representations regarding the associated driveway configuration. I later learned that the driveway design had changed, resulting in a significantly narrower driveway than expected, and I was not informed of this change before construction proceeded. This driveway reconfiguration was a significant issue because the home was modified to accommodate ADA-related needs, and the reduced driveway space directly impacted accessibility and usability. After move-in, additional construction-related issues continued to arise. Construction materials, including construction towelettes and landscaping debris, clogged the sewer lines, resulting in a significant indoor plumbing backup and flooding inside the home. Following the flood, the home experienced a major fire ant infestation, creating additional health, safety, and habitability concerns. In addition to these construction issues, many of my interactions with Century Communities staff were unprofessional or unhelpful. Communication was often lacking, and obtaining answers required repeated phone calls, emails, and text messages. The exceptions were [name removed] and [name removed], both of whom were professional, respectful, and made genuine efforts to assist when they were involved. Overall, the experience has been frustrating and stressful. Rather than enjoying the excitement of purchasing a new home, I have spent much of my time addressing construction defects, communication failures, and warranty-related issues that I believe could have been prevented or handled more effectively.

[name removed] and [name removed] have provided excellent support for my family throughout our entire home purchasing process and continue to do so after. Whether it was help with finding our mailbox, accessing the electrical panel, or figuring out how we get our trash bins, they have gone above and beyond to make our experience smooth and pleasant. We are exceedingly happy with the customer service and feel like valued customers.

I really enjoyed working with [name removed] at Grants Landing, she was friendly and very reassuring. [name removed] was easy and very thorough about everything in the home. Home needed to be cleaned and it was, I did feel a bit pushed to close on the home before July. I feel like I missed a few things but some have been resolved. Homes around me have been moved in around me quickly. Mailboxes are a work in progress, some confusion that needs to be fixed.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
