No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

I felt rushed in the whole process. Painting in the house looks rushed. Still picking up nails around home. House was dirty. Ex. Floor boards, all floors, window blinds.

I like the fact that the lender was very responsive and helpful. The only thing I didn’t like was that we have to fight for all the incentives that were promised to us. Other than that everything was great.

Overall the buying experience was easy. However, I am extremely disappointed that they changed the style of the refrigerator they provide, but it does not work with the space that was built for it. I am unable to open the right side door completely when the refrigerator is pushed back all the way. I would have appreciated them working with me to try and find a solution. Also, I am still waiting on a few items that were discovered at the final walk through.

A little more personal communication with the contract process. Understand there was a lot of assistance withe home loan and online tutorials there, but a more personal touch with the seller would have been helpful. Also taking into consideration the work load of the seller is heavy at the moment.

Problems found in walkthrough took awhile to fix, and after a month, still not fully fixed. After living found issues with Low Voltage cable, wired wrong or missing completely. Would have been nice to have conduit behind TV to swap HDMI cable ask it's not 8k rated, and stapled to wall. Studs in Fireplace wall are not proper, like other homes being built. Meaning it's not 16 inch, 8 inch each side from center, it's center stud, so it's 16 inch from center each side, making hanging TV difficult. Small things you only find after living, but just oversight on build. Frustrating. Other small things like shower valve is mounted upsidedown, but calked on so can't fix. No cabinet hardware was annoying but knew going in, would have imagined that was a cost saving option, but should have been put on. Base floor has some dips and you can hear LVP smack in the dips, making a cheap feeling sound.

I stopped in not knowing when my FL home was going to sell but in spite of the fact that I could not make a commitment, [name removed] kept in touch without being overbearing. Once my house went under contract, [name removed] made it easy to navigate the purchase of the new house.

I had submitted a ticket for our tub that is broken and was told it would be resolved but have heard nothing. There are a lot of places in the house that was built in a sloppy manner as far as cosmetic appearance. We have had good experiences as well but we haven't been living here but barely 30 days and to have little things beginning to arise worries me when it comes to future issues or concerns.
