No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

My Sales Consultant [name removed] was AMAZING!! She walked me through every step of the way. She was ALWAYS available and answered any questions that I had. Everything that was said/promised to me came to fruition. She was the best and I would deal with her any day! 10/10 would definitely recommend HER! My loan officer [name removed], not so much. Spoke to him twice throughout whole process and both times I felt very rushed. 0/10 would not recommend him, ever, to anyone. [name removed] was fine to work with and [name removed] at title was fine as well. My home was not “ready” to move into upon Orientation/Walkthrough. This was a huge disappointment during the process. [name removed] and [name removed] were very apologetic and are working hard to get my home up to par.

I was not allowed to make any upgrades. This was not told to me when in talks of purchasing my house. My house closed a week agao with A LOT of necessary repairs/issue, including a broken window. There was no working with me when it cam e to the walk-through. Only 9am was given for a time and for a wroking teacher at the beginning of the school year, that is not feasable. I had to find someone who could complete teh walk-through for me. I was tols the reapirs would be completed around my schedule....when , in fact, I have not recieved any notice of any vendors coming out. Just them calling me to say they are there while I am at work and unable to deal with it. I felt the huse was pushed through to meet EOM numbers. I have yet to move in because of all the work that needs to be completed, which is not right. Nothing like paying o ver 500,000$ for a brand new house that should be move in ready at close that wasn't. Waste of my money.

We did not like the following: The fact that we were not allowed to bring a 3rd party inspector until after NHO and that items on the report were not guaranteed to be fixed. Further, no one mentioned this to us until our NHO so we felt like communication could have been better and more upfront. We did not like that century switched a few items after contract - such as saying they would provide a car charger outlet then switching to not providing one at the last minute. This was a selling point for us. The lights portrayed in the model were changed and we received different and wrong amounts of lights in the kitchen. We did not like that we had to escalate our rate multiple times on the financing side and that they took a long time to respond but expected an extremely quick turnaround from us. In addition, we did not like that they asked for the same items multiple times after we already provided them, and did not like that they asked for items at the 11th hour (just 2 days before close) threatening our ability to close. We did like that the sales team ([name removed] D), customer service team ([name removed]) and the construction team ([name removed] and [name removed]) tried to help us get through with a smooth transaction and is still helping us fix the issues identified in the home.

purchase and move in was fine; it the sub-par quality of the materials used to build the house, the workmanship of how major equipment was installed, the cost-cutting materials that were use, i.e., no real wood for cabinets, doors, etc. Had I known of the terrible quality materials that were used, I never would have chosen Century homes.

I didn't like how Inspire nitpicked minor issues. Such as requesting a transcript related to minor IRS initiated correction related to my 2023 federal tax filing.

Almost everything was fine; however, I don't love that I'll still have to file some MINOR warranty elements upon moving in. I recognize that what I'm going to file for won't be large-item issues, but I also don't think that oversprayed paint on the exterior should have been overlooked, I don't think that carpet staples should be sticking out on the stairs at times, and I don't think that some installed tile should be chipped when the house is BRAND NEW. These are things that anyone doing the actual job would have absolutely noticed. With all of this being said, I did get to meet [name removed] (the construction manager, or the superintendent for the community), and he was DELIGHTFUL. He was honestly so helpful in preparing my home to be lived in. He made himself remarkably accessible, and it has been a pleasure to work with him. He certainly represents the company well and seems to take significant pride in his work.

I appreciated how accommodating the team was when I shared that I’m retired law enforcement and had to retire a year early due to an in-the-line-of-duty injury. That personal consideration meant a lot. However, I was disappointed that they scheduled a walkthrough when the home was clearly not ready—there was no power on, which made it impossible to check if everything was working properly. Additionally, it’s been a bit frustrating that some of the remaining issues, like the tub problem in my daughter’s bathroom and touch-up painting, are taking longer than expected to resolve. I do understand that it’s a holiday week and things get busy, but the delays are still noticeable. Overall though, I’m a satisfied customer and happy with the purchase.
