Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

The interest rate was amazing! She was flexible on closing dates when we had setbacks and the ability to renew our contract for an extra month. Thank you so much for being flexible with us!

I am a First Time Homeowner, but all the Century Community Team had been a Big Support thru out the Whole Process! Burnley and [name removed] are the Awesomest People I have met. They had been there in every step I had to take for the Home Buy. They were always there to answer all my questions and make me understand the whole process. I am so Thankful they were there. After that, I met [name removed] during the Home Pre-Walk, the Project Manager or GC for the Home. He went Above and Beyond to make sure all my request were honored during closing even after closing. I am so Thankful for each member of the Century Community Team who made the whole process easy and in the end, a Happy Journey to remember for life!

It was not disclosed to me until the home walk through that I could not build on the back half of my property due to it being part of a flood mitigation area. This would have been a factor in my decision to buy the property. I am fairly displeased as I feel it was being hid from me.

[name removed] was wonderful to work with. [name removed] is amazing as well, always going the extra step to help. The day before closing we were thrown several different charges in HOA fees. According to the MLS there was an $480 annual fee and a $480 association transfer fee. More than happy to pay those but to throw an additional $1,200 in fees to buyers that are enduring the costs and stressors of purchasing a home is absolutely wrong. We understand paying one full year of HOA fees up front, but 2 years, I have never heard of such a thing. Then to make us pay hundreds of dollars more in service fees. You do this the day before closing so buyers are too invested to walk away. So very disappointed in this. [name removed] now, it is almost a month out and we still do not have a new fridge. We are now about to receive the 3rd delivery of a fridge. All have been damaged in some way and we cannot move into our home without a working fridge. This process has been very frustration and time consuming as we have to stop our day to receive these failed deliveries. Again, this is no fault of [name removed], he has been amazing.

LIke- [name removed] is amazing. He was the only saving grace in this sale. He went above and beyond. Dislike- Where do I start... I understand Century is a spec builder but I also feel that if someone is buying a house when it is still at the lot stage that there should be some give in letting the buyer have choices. Everything I asked if could be done or changed was a "no" besides two things which one was when I caught a buid mistake a brick went all the way to the window and secondly was including blinds. Century Communites uses pressure sales which isn't a way to do business. When I started my search, I asked about a lot backing up to the woods. We were told by agent that "a list was started because of the high interest and we will add you to the list." When stopping by to see if they had input about when lot would be released, I was informed I was the only one on the list. This is shady business. Also, a model home should not have options that you cannot add because "you are a spec builder". Then a week before closing, I was called by [name removed] explaining the lawsuit. The document that was sent to sign mentioned a 'lien les pendens" meaning there is a lien on the property due to the property being in a lawsuit. I would not get a clean title if I signed document. Since I didn't sign the document, VP of region, [name removed] called me. This is another pressure sale tactic. I wanted out of contract as I didnt' want to be part of lawsuit. Why do I feel like I would be part of lawsuit because my name is on the property that was listed in lawsuit. [name removed] started out nice but as soon as I said I would not sign contract he wanted to know why and wanted me to sent what my financial advisor and others were advising me. No one at Century Communities when buying a home would sign knowing a lien was on property or would recommend a family member to sign a piece of paper with the unknown.

The process went smoothly the walk through was great. The only thing is after the final walk through there needs to be a grace period because those walks through don’t allow you to catch everything. Like found scratches on a window in the primary bedroom that was seen until I moved in installing shades. Then lastly the cleaning before move could have been done way better

Customer service was outstanding! Great follow-up from Team [name removed] and [name removed], making sure everything is working properly after we moved in. The contract was explained in great detail so I understood exactly what I was agreeing to and what Century was responsible for providing. We just got our furniture put together and now we’re hanging pictures so it’s really starting to feel like home! Each step of the process was handled beautifully without any hiccups. I could not be more pleased!

The process was very seamless, the sales office was always so welcoming and excellent at answering questions and sending updates. My only questionable experience was at the final walk through there were still a couple of items that were not addressed and now I am told that I need to submit a warranty claim.
