Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

[name removed] was wonderful, kind, and attentive to our needs. We never felt like we were ever a burden to him when we had questions. He was 10/10 for us! Somethings that I didn’t like about the process was when we had our walk through there some things that needed to be fixed that never got taken care of so when we moved in it was a tad disappointing. However, using the team for the warranty have been amazing and quick to resolve any problems or issues that needed repair. Overall the best customer services from all ends. I am still very happy with my purchase.

A lot of things are going on after move in, electric breaker are tripping, floor have different elevation, floor sheet are coming out of the floor, door frames cracks

What I like most about my purchase experience was the honesty. From beginning of application to closing there was no surprises. Century Homes let's you know ahead of time what to expect for loan process. Once closing was finalized my home was ready for move in.

I paid for 2 inspections with issues with the house. I will have to pay for a 3rd this week. I have no hot water, there is a hole under the carpet in the master bedroom. I stepped in it, tripped and hurt my back (05Jan2025 at 3:12am). And more.

Initially, I was offered the same house at a lower price with a 6% contribution toward closing costs. On the other hand, I was presented with an option for a house with a promotional price, a higher price for the house, but a lower interest rate and 3% toward closing costs. Due to the lower interest rate, I chose the second option, assuming I would receive 3% toward closing costs based on the price of the house. However, I later got to know that the 3% closing cost contribution was only based on the base price of $350K, not the actual price of $371K, which was much higher. When I requested to switch back to the first option, even without the promotional rate, they kept that option closed and left me disappointed. As a result, I ended up paying $21K more for the promotional rate in the house price, and on top of that, the 3% contribution toward closing was based on the lower base price of $350K, not the full price of $371K. Despite my inquiries, they did not reopen the first option, which I feel is unfair. I am dissatisfied with the lack of complete information provided from the beginning, and I am not happy with the offer I received.

Lack of communication throughout entire buying process, explanation of our ability to participate in specials was lackluster with us being surprised in the end to find out we were not eligible to participate in interesting rate buy down closing specials a few weeks before closing. Our keys to our doors do not work on our home texturing on walls are incomplete and cabinets have holes in them garage door slams and shakes entire framing of the home, at the price point that we purchased this home, the above is just unacceptable.

They did not make sure internet was installed in our phase of the neighborhood so now I have no internet and won’t have any for another month or two which is absolutely ridiculous for me since I work from home. The communication was not great on our weekly updates on the build of our home. We either had to reach out to receive an update or we received them late. Communication was good but could be better since we were told we would receive weekly updates.
