Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

Overall the process went smoothly and we are pleased with the house we purchased. Under the flag of candor, not malice, I offer these observations. In essence, being told that the builder's time was more valuable than mine when it came time to schedule the initial walkthrough. Although the walkthrough was changed to accommodate me because I was coming from out of state, it would have been nice to been asked if the time was suitable rather than say the time was assigned and could not be moved - "The orientation dates cannot be changed because the construction manager has a complex schedule. These dates have already been coordinated with other project commitments and changing it would cause scheduling conflicts." Per email from closing coordinator. Although my request was honored it would have been nice to have some initial input and not made to feel like I was 2nd place in the process. I had asked for information from the manufacturer or installer conforming that the cantilever countertop material, in the kitchen area, was suitable for the span it is intended to endure without additional bracing, but have not received it. Although most of the areas that were identified as needing attention were remedied we now have several paint and drywall mud spots on the carpet from the repairs. As I was out of state and our realtor was kind enough to do the final walk for us we will live with these areas. Overall, we are very happy with our choice and the people who attended to us. All have been very attentive to our needs and we have enjoyed working with the staff at Moss Creek

they were really helpful until my inspection, then at that point they pushed back on fixing things. but fixed them in the end.

Loved our experience. [name removed] and [name removed] were absolutely wonderful to work with and easy going. [name removed] answered all of our questions in the beginning and [name removed] completed both of our walkthroughs and insured that our home was above our expectations !

We disliked that our closing was pushed back by eight days. They told us about the pushback after we had already locked in the sale of our previous home, so we had a 15 day gap between closings, and we have four children and four pets. We ended up paying $700 in pet boarding fees and having to stay with family an hour and a half away while still being back in our city every day for work and church activities. It was very expensive in gas and it was very hard on our kids (especially the baby) to spend so much time in the car and to not have a routine for so long.

We had a few issues with the house from the inspection that were cleared up immediately, but we found some issues on our own which were slow to get resolve. In particular, an issue with the HVAC system that took a lot of pushing to get it addressed, was troublesome.
