I liked the dedication to excellence demonstrated by [name removed]. His passion for building quality homes was evident as he walked us through our new home and shared building details and patiently answered all of our questions. I disliked the total lack of customer service from [name removed] and [name removed].

Century Complete didn't match my standard of customer service satisfaction. Before going under contract the written price offer packages were misleading, when saying that the higher price would have LVP flooring as an upgrade, but that is Century's standard. Communication is slow and less attentive once you separate the house, information is not fully explained, as their step by step process and what to expect from them, nor their timelines for certain things to take place like private home inspection. Century Complete claims to be a first time homebuyer company but that is a lie, because a first time homebuyer needs information, guidance and what to expect in the process from the building company. That was never done. The appointed contact for home inspection and closing agent, Ms. [name removed], was not only unresponsive, she was trying to violate my right to conduct the home inspection prior to closing because according to her, the time limit for asking for one was prior to the Orientation Walk but that was neither explained nor I signed any acknowledgement of it in any of the Addendums. If the house wasn't ready for me to walk at a prior time, was it really ready for a home inspection? I don't think so, but better yet, according to the builder it wasn't. Also, neither Ms. [name removed] or any other closing agent nor a representative from the title showed up at the closing to explain the paperwork that I had in front of me to sign. Only a Notary Public that never explained anything was at the closing, was very rushed and didn't even know what each document was. The documents were incomplete at the moment of closing. Well, needless to say the worst experience in a closing. And I have been present in 3 other closings, none were mine but everything was explained, closing agent, title agent and notary public present to have everything completed in person, everything explained as they signed and the new homebuyer walked out with the Warranty Deed, the ALTA and Survey, and all closing documents, 2 copies signed in person at the moment of closing. There was a sales consultant at the model home in [name removed] Oaks, Mr. [name removed], after seeing the lack of closing agent and title, he made himself available for any doubts I had, and was doing "damage control" as a representative of the Century brand. Sadly he wasn't wasn't my sales agent. Consider my recommendation for Mr. [name removed] to train your other Century sales agents, because not even Mr. [name removed] was a responsive manager. Century Complete should strive for more than being a building company, should strive to be The Building Company that everyone goes to not only for your houses but because you offer the best customer service, committed to delivering satisfaction to your buyers, because you care about your product and not only for the sake of selling, and that will show through every single one of the people who works for Century Complete. Right now, the standard of quality of work from sales agents, closing agents and title is very low. Thankfully, Century Complete have good builders, Mr. [name removed] was great on my Orientation Walk and Final Walk, and Mr. [name removed] and Mr. [name removed] coordinated and respected my right to perform the home inspection prior to closing. Currently, I am working with Ms. [name removed], from the warranty department to fix the little things here and there that need to be fixed construction wise. Ms. [name removed] has been the best representation of the Century Complete brand due to her outstanding customer service satisfaction, and high communication and organization skills. And last but not least, the loan officer, Ms. [name removed] from Inspired Home Loans was exceptional! She kept me informed and explained everything step by step and guided me through the whole process from the loan perspective. Thanks to Ms. [name removed], I didn't back down from the purchase, and the transaction was completed. There is definitely room for improvement, probably customer service satisfaction workshops can help but those who were responsible, responsive, willing and able to guide and make information more accessible to me, the buyer, are truly who should continue to represent the Century Complete brand, I would be proud to have them if it was my company.

I disliked the miscommunication between builder rep, in house lender, and realtor. There were things being discussed without my knowledge, for example, the appraisal was done and appraised lower than selling price. This information was not disclosed to me, but instead to my realtor by the builder. Then I noticed it on some of the loan documents and questioned it. This was frustrating because it impacted closing costs, making it difficult to determine how much to wire to title. Also, I understand the process is pretty straight forward between all buyers. However, throughout this process, no one communicated and walked us through in detail of the process. Being that we’re first time home buyers, all parties should explain and provide context on all areas of the process. But instead, we were hounding down information from all areas to answer questions.

Purchasing my first home with Century Complete has been an exciting milestone. Although I chose to finance through an outside lender because I received a better offer, I have appreciated the opportunity to purchase my home. There have been a few areas where I believe the post-closing experience could be improved. To date, I am still waiting to receive my mailbox key. I was told someone would contact me shortly after closing to follow up and answer any questions, but that call has not happened. Instead, I have had to reach out myself regarding the mailbox key and a few other concerns. I also contacted the HOA but did not receive a return call. On a positive note, the builder promptly came out to address an issue with my garage, and the electrician responded quickly to a concern I had about the electrical outlets. I also appreciate the kindness of a neighbor who has helped me navigate some of the questions that naturally come with being a first-time homeowner. Overall, I am thrilled to own my very first home and grateful for this opportunity. While the experience has been exciting, it has also been a bit overwhelming because there is so much information to absorb as a first-time buyer. I am still looking forward to receiving the follow-up call that was promised, as I believe it would help answer remaining questions and make the transition into homeownership even smoother.

Communication was great until closing day, as a first time buyer I was unaware about certain information and received the nastiest, unprofessional remarks and comments from [name removed] the title agent. She was so unprofessional that I couldn’t even enjoy my day. Her demeanor and attitude isn’t something someone should have to deal with from the closing wire to the “I’m busy I had 7 closing today I’m not sitting around waiting for your call, I was in the printing room making copies”. I feel like she was very unpleasant to work with. Even when I asked her about information regarding mortgage payments that I have yet to receive, she blow me off and said it will come in the mail.

The closing experience. [name removed] was amazing. But having to travel 1 hr away to close in front office felt like it could have been done more remotely.

I completely left my experience and I would do it over and I have also referred a few of my friends and coworkers. The only thing I can say I disliked about the purchase is there’s no gate or fence that came with the property, but everyone helping me was an absolute delight to work with.

The house is sound enough but made very cheaply. The young lady doing the paperwork needs some training on her communication between the main office and working with the buyers.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
