I only disliked dealing with the loan company since they were always off with their numbers but liked everything else about the process

I liked how easy it was and the affiliates used. I did not like the lack of information and confusion of who owned what when trying to solve problems

Pros: The realtor, [name removed], for Century Complete was awesome. The ladies at [name removed] were great. [name removed] - Construction Superintendant always answered his texts for us. [name removed] who oversees construction was fantatsic. Between [name removed] and [name removed] ALL of the below issues have been or are being corrected. Phenomenal customer service from these two. They answer their emails, texts, and phone calls. They really go above and beyond to ensure their customers are completely satisfied. I would absolutely buy another home from Century Complete and recommend them as a home builder, especially if these two men are at the helm. If I ever get the chance, I sincerely want to buy them a beer! As the home owners, we are very satisfied with Century Complete!!! Cons: Our final walk-thru could have been better. The power wasn't connected to the microwave. There was no power to the stove/oven due to bad wiring behind the outlet. (Corrected) The dryer shroud wasn't on and was laying behind the dryer. (Corrected) The refridgerator was super loud when the compressor would kick in. The Whirlpool repairmen have adrressed it and have ordered new parts to correct the issue as of last week, Nov 17 - 21. (Corrected) The washing machine's drain pipe wasn't placed into the wall in order to drain the laundry water from the washing machine. It was still wrapped in a rubber band behind the washing machine. Consequently when our clients went to use the washing machine it flooded the home to include two carpeted bedrooms. (Corrected) All of these appliance issues, with exception to the refridgerator, should have been caught during the appliances installation and/or the final walk-thru.

We were unimpressed with the hands off approach to the sale of our home. We felt like our Century Complete sales representative was not able to quickly or easily answer simple questions about floor plans or specific lots as he had never even been on site nor would he meet personally with us. The “phone tag” feel of the process was irritating and it felt like Century Complete could care less about us personally or whether or not we bought from them. We were also disappointed with the lack of flexibility in choosing lots, floor plans and options. Once the purchase process actually began we were happy with our loan officer [name removed] and very pleased with the Construction Manager [name removed] as he was very helpful, responsive and accommodating.

The communication is terrible. I really had no input on when things would happen. Toward the end of the process i was just told when to show up and there was no consideration for my time or schedule. The financing situation is a joke and is almost criminal. You force people to use the preferred lender who has rates that are 3 times a much as others. If I didn't have another lender tell me the fees were exorbitant and to negotiate Id be out close to $8000. The only person I had a direct working relationship that made me feel thankful was [name removed]. Since closing on the house we've had several issues and he has gone above and beyond to support our needs.

Everyone at Century was wonderful to work with and made the process really easy. Being a first time home buyer I think I got lucky and had an easy time.

Overall things have been good with the process. The only downside was that the notary wasn’t able to meet us at our new home for the final signing, which would’ve saved us a two-hour drive. A few items also weren’t fixed by the time we closed/moved in, which was a little frustrating. But aside from those things, the experience has been positive.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
