Good things: Price was good. The yard size is great for our purposes. We can put in a fence to keep our little dogs happy. We can put in an out building. We can park our Travel trailer on the property. There is no HOA which is great. We like the neighborhood very much. Good people and it is close to stores and our twin granddaughters. Bad things: We have no porch on our back exit. The driveway was just pour ten days ago. We have no front porch except for the temporary particle board porch and a board for a sidewalk. We have a serious crack in the brand new basement floor. We have a wabbly creaky floor in our guest bedroom. When the shower is turned on in the master bath water leaks out the back of the spout. Holes were left next to our foundation which accumulated water all winter and froze which is not good for a house foundation. There were two center door hinge pins missing. The hot water heater was set to hot and tripped out.

There were way too many concerns and issues to list here. The whole process was about Century Complete and its requirements and time lines. There are ongoing things that need to be completed and/or repaired. Quality of construction ie; material is poor.

Really appreciated the willingness and communication to help us out from [name removed] and [name removed] throughout the process. [name removed] was very accommodating and helped us through the process despite issues we ran into on the lender’s end. [name removed] was (and still is) a huge help now that we have moved in and he has been able to assist us with several questions and concerns we have had; as we are first time home buyers and are unfamiliar with owning a home. He’s made several recommendations for necessary up-keep of the house and has gladly offered his assistance any time should we need it moving forward. We’re very happy to have had [name removed] and [name removed] helping us through the process.

The paint on the walls was difficult to paint over. Maybe consider a different quality or new painters.

My dislike was the lack of urgency on escrow hold back for driveway and landscaping putting our closing date a week late

The initial process was tough because there was a personnel change in the beginning of my loan. Also, it was very impersonal until the end when I was introduced to my loan officer and closing team. They were great. I would say that making a huge purchase made me nervous not hearing anyone’s voice and just communicating over email. When the personnel change happened as well, my information was lost and I had to resubmit. I was nearing the end of my lease and concerned I would have to make temporary living arrangements for my family, it was stressful. I also, chose to not use a realtor. This may have contributed to my own stress. However, after the initial process the team in the end were very helpful and kind. They also, answered the phone, which I very much appreciated.

The grading of my yard.. My front and backyard isn't smooth at all... Front yard is lumpy and my backyard is lumpy and holding alot of water so it stays muddy.... Zero stars for Landscaping/Grading

Painting is overall poor standards, walls not sanded good, too many dents in walls, noticed some flooring questions regarding nails and maybe leveling issues.

I loved the representative [name removed]. He was very personable and wasn't pushy. Really stood out in comparison to other builders agents to hide behind legal terms and contract languages.

Vinyl floor, some outlet didn’t work and door bell didn’t work, and no rebar in the concrete, and no mail box, but I figured it out

I did not like that how the builder left things that needed to handle before and never did anything about it.

All in all it was a very easy process. There was a bit of pins and needles waiting to make sure all was approved and funded. But everyone was very patient and helpful along the way. We are still waiting on a couple fixes but I am sure they will be done.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
