Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

I loved working with my sales rep [name removed] and my construction manager [name removed]. I really disliked how my walkthrough was scheduled on such a tight schedule and I was shown an incomplete product, however, [name removed] and his team did a exceptional job with delivering an end product which I was happy with. I really dislike being coerced into working with the builders lender Inspire Home Loans, their underwriting standards are horrendous and non conforming to today's industry standards/guidelines. Also my loan officer [name removed] did not do a very good job at keeping me updated at every step of the way. I selected I wanted to close my home in a trust and I even sent my docs in to the title company 3 weeks prior to close, however, a few days prior to closing I was told I couldn't close in a trust and it was too late to get it switched over. [name removed] and [name removed] really fell through on this, I would NOT recommend Inspire Home Loans or Parkway Title to do business with. I only gave a high score because I really enjoyed working with [name removed] and [name removed] also special thanks to [name removed] for listening to my concerns over this whole process. I could write a novel about my experience with the buying process and voice my frustrations and evidence publicly but I decided not to tarnish Century's reputation over this ordeal since ultimately things were made right. I'm just a bit taken back given my experience with my home and how it was shown to me, I would have been offered a welcome kit or a $1000 gift card to help with furnishing my home, I mean my house had human waste in one of the toilets for crying out loud and the only thing that was offered to me was to replace the toilet and a few apologies, I found this laughable. I've got everything documented with my home and with the home for my grandparents and ALL the challenges I went through and I intend to seek legal council especially since [name removed] told my mother that she can't accept our Power of Attorney over my grandfather or that she can't talk to my mother concerning my grandfathers affairs since she has no legal right when she had a copy of the power of attorney in front of her. I'm just so upset about this whole process with not only my home but for my grandparents home. As stated prior, I only gave a high score to help out [name removed] and [name removed], other than that I could have done without the builders lender and title company, awful experience overall.

Everything went fairly smooth and the couple things that needed attention were handled right away by [name removed]. This has no bearing on the people I've dealt with but I wish Century Complete would use at least a Semi-Gloss paint in the bathrooms.

I liked that every issue that arose was swiftly taken care of without hesitation. Unfortunately we did find that someone was using our restroom while it was being built and left urine and feces in our toilet bowl as well as blood on our light switch. But the management was wonderful and every other issue was taken care of.

I disliked the lender the most. [name removed] was helpful but the Underwriting department asked unnecessary questions that had nothing to do with my purchase. [name removed] from Century was great. He was extremely helpful and even responded to messages on his off time. He made the house portion of the process very easy.

[name removed] was very active in making sure the home was completed and ready to be moved in at the time of closing. He is also responsive to any questions I have about the property and how things work in the home (e.x. appliances, etc.). I recommend a pay rise for him since he is so involved in making sure the sub-contractor's complete their work on time and ensures a high quality control on their specific trade.

For 300k you would think this house would be perfect but it's not and I really don't think anyone there cares. I have a wall that's not straight or even close, there's paint on every room of carpet, a door with a electric lock that doesn't work lights that only had one screw in them so they hang down a kitchen faucet that moves when you grab it, granite bar with paint on it, with paint on my outside my garage from when the touch up paints cleaned there brushes, paint runs on my front door. Scratch on my floor from when [name removed] replaced the refrigerator that I told them was leaking when they put it in and then leaked on my floor for the next 3 days. Chips on the white cabinets. Dry wall repairs that need to be touched up all over the place. For 300k yes I expect more.

Over all the house is beautiful, I just would have like the windows to have had screens and the bathroom vents look like the builders could of made them look better, it appears that the bathroom vents did not take to much thought into them and look bad to me.

I liked how smooth the process was, having access to the different portals to track everything every step along the way made for a wonderful home buying experience. I can't thank both [name removed] & [name removed] enough for everything they have done over few weeks of this buying process. I greatly appreciate every effort with every step along the way, I would NOT have been able to done this without thier help and guidance!!!  I appreciate them both so much what a wonderful experience compared to my first house I bought. A few weeks in, to my surprise I was contacted by the construction manager [name removed]. In all honestly I had no idea this was part of the process but from his introduction to the final day he handed me my keys [name removed] was always available to answer any questions fast to address any concerns as the house was being built, not afraid to give me an open honest answer which I truly appreciate it. For anybody going through this experience I think it's key to understand that the house is under construction to not get too wild just trust the process and know that you are in good hands if [name removed] is overseeing your build. One thing I dislike was the initial step to lock in a house to purchase I really really had my heart set on a different house waited for it to advertise online so I can apply and missed out in the blink of an eye. Now that the process is said and done I am thankful I ended up with the house I selected afterwards, again another huge shout out to [name removed] for helping me navigate the online purchase process.

We missed an attempt to buy a [name removed] prior to this [name removed] (lot 32 Cimarron) purchase as we were unfamiliar with "buy on line." [name removed] (Phoenix office) went our of her way to keep us updated after that.
