No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Builder was great. Everything was easy. Application process and smooth and convenient. Deposits and closing were quick and easy as well. Only dislikes were the communication early on. Things like the fact spectrum wasn’t going to be available for up to 2 years was pretty big. As well as informing us about the delays that could be possible due to electric. Once that was cleared up the remaining communication was A+. A little more communication during the Mortgage process would hurt. I understand that it’s kind of a waiting game but just be like “hey it’s going to be very little communication if everything’s going well” because we were very worried something might go wrong. But I won’t hold that against anyone because it was a good thing we weren’t hearing anything but just kept us on edge a bit.

Communication. It was good at first but as we got closer to closing it quickly faded. We had to find out closing was being pushed back a day before after we had been prying for information on what is going on. This seriously hindered us since we had already requested time off from work and had moving arrangements set up.

Everything was easy. Skip and [name removed] were great to work with. Every little detail was fixed. Every suggestion was taken into consideration, when asking about power, water, and general information about the home

Love: Online access to do the initial payments. Love: The Builder offered mortgage and deal (we got a better deal than someone we knew who bought a house with a VA loan- not same builder). Love: the process Love: the contractor has been awesome. Love: The staff at the office has been awesome. Love: Easy work for me and my realtor.

A couple of things I did not like was that when I hade questions about the process it was hard to get a response and also after I moved in the house has alot of small details that eventually will have to be fix. This includes stains of dirt on the windows out side that for me is hard to clean them, paint issues around the house, poblems with the vinyl on the floor in one of the bathrooms, it has a bubble underneath. This poblems are the reason I gave a 7 in my satisfaction.

I liked - it was quick, easy and affordable with moderate upgrades. seller made the process easy and comfortable. I disliked- the items that weren't finished after they were said to be (mainly drywall finishing/paint), the final grading of the dirt landscaping very inconsistent, sod will have to be removed dirt reworked to make it flat and even, trash left in the property/yard. driveways need to be atleast 3' wider, outlets/lights witches in awkward places

We liked the fact that we were able to see the process of the house being built from start to finish. I also liked how Century Complete kept us updated on things done to the house. Our dislikes were we got sent the wrong keys to the electronic lock and garage door. Did not have hot water the first week due to a coil being burned out. However, our builder [name removed] was very informative and handled our concerns. [name removed] stayed in contact with me and made sure our move-in was going smoothly.
