Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

I am writing to express my concerns about the communication throughout the construction process. Unfortunately, there has been a noticeable lack of updates provided to me. I found myself having to call around to get the latest information on construction progress, which has been quite frustrating. Additionally, the sales agent assigned to me, [name removed], went on leave and was supposed to return on December 18th. However, she did not inform me of who would be taking over her responsibilities during her absence, leaving me without a point of contact for important updates. [name removed]

I am writing to provide feedback regarding my experience with Century Communities during the purchase process of my property at [name removed] [name removed] [name removed] Trl, [name removed] Robins, GA 31093. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing, marked by unprofessionalism, mismanagement, and a lack of accountability. While I appreciate the efforts of [name removed], the new construction manager, who is doing everything in his power to make things right, the issues leading up to this point have left me feeling extremely dissatisfied. Disregard Toward My Complaints I previously raised serious concerns about the behavior of [name removed], the construction manager, whose actions were unprofessional and dismissive. Despite expressing these concerns early on and requesting that he no longer be involved with my property, my complaint was ignored. This disregard for a legitimate customer issue set the tone for the poor experience that followed. Key Mismanagement Issues 1. Misplacement of Keys: After fulfilling all my financial and contractual obligations, I was given the incorrect keys to a property I did not own. To make matters worse, I later learned that these keys were misplaced and left accessible for more than seven days. This mismanagement is not only unprofessional but also represents a significant breach of security. The resolution offered to me—either driving 40 minutes to retrieve the correct keys or waiting for them to be shipped—was completely unacceptable. The mishandling of this basic but critical aspect of the homebuying process has been a major source of stress and frustration. 2. Domino Effect of Issues Caused by [name removed]: From the very beginning, [name removed]’s lack of professionalism created problems. For example: • On the day of my orientation, a vehicle belonging to a cleaner was obstructing my driveway. Despite being aware of the orientation schedule, [name removed] allowed this vehicle to remain there until I threatened to have it towed. • His response to my concerns was dismissive and condescending, further reflecting his lack of accountability and professionalism. 3. Failure to Address Concerns: Throughout this process, I experienced a clear lack of communication and accountability from Century Communities. The finger-pointing and confusion among representatives, including [name removed] and Gray, made it difficult to get clear answers or resolutions to my concerns. It felt as though my concerns were being minimized or ignored altogether. Impact and Current Outlook The entire process, from the mismanagement of my keys to the dismissive behavior of key personnel, has left me feeling disrespected as a customer. This situation has eroded my trust in Century Communities and has overshadowed what should have been an exciting and positive milestone. The only positive aspect of my experience has been [name removed], the new construction manager. [name removed] has gone above and beyond to address the issues left in [name removed]’s wake and has demonstrated professionalism and a genuine desire to resolve my concerns. His efforts are the only reason I have any hope for a satisfactory outcome. Final Thoughts I am deeply dissatisfied with the lack of accountability, professionalism, and organization demonstrated throughout this process. The mishandling of my keys, the dismissive behavior of the previous construction manager, and the disregard for my concerns have left me questioning the quality and customer care I expected from Century Communities. I urge Century Communities to take these issues seriously, review their internal processes, and ensure that no other customer has to go through a similar experience. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism at every stage of the process. Thank you for taking the time to review my feedback. I hope these concerns are addressed appropriately moving forward.

Most of the items I had to sign should be reviewed by my agent first. Some documents would get sent to her after I signed and others just wouldn't get sent to her. I think for transparency you should allow a buyers agent to view documents first. Now that being said all of the documents themselves were fine.

When you say 2 years is good enough I really don't like i had to include my (2) 2nd jobs from 2017 and 2019 for a 2024 buying process. Then on my end I have every thing attached in every email however it's such a delay on my end left feeling very anxious. So my confidence was low if everything would fall into place because I didn't feel all the way secure even in my 25 years of work experience was good enough. I was a home owner before and it seemed like I was at ground zero again.

Only issue is there was not clear communication about there being no Internet actually available at time of move in. The house was capable of Internet, but there is not buried to connect to and we work remote. In the future I'd recommend working side by side with the Internet company and ensuring there is accessible Internet seeing as remote workers are an increasing profession.

The lending portion through inspire home loans was great and very easy until the last week where our lender gave us the run around and then at closing we were unable to obtain the keys to the house which led to a bunch of missed appointments and deliveries and created a complete disaster for me and my family the day of closing and move in. Our builder [name removed] did An AMAZING job and followed up with us after move in. 10 STARS FOR HIM!
