We were knowledgeable of the fact that we purchased a spec home. However, the fact that fact that we contracted a matter of days from submitting for permit, we would have happily taken the opportunity to make limited, specific, non-structural changes to the build. The sales staff, Lisa and June were great to work with as they made consistent contact with us. Living out of state as most of the construction in. progress, they provided regular updates through pictures and video to help us feel a part of the process. Curtis was a fantastic superintendent to work with. He was excellent in his communication and I was impressed at the amount of respect all the trades I had contact with had for him. This is our fifth new home purchase and this experience is the best we have had with quality, sales staff and construction interaction.

The Sales team was great. They kept me informed throughout the process. Whenever there was a challenge, the Sales team communicated clearly through resolution. We moved into our home on February 16, 2022. We are still waiting for our backyard fencing and front year landscaping. We understand that there has been some weather issues, but there has also been more than enough windows of opportunity to complete the work. Our neighbors, who moved in a week after we did, already have their backyard fencing. We have a dog and this has been a huge inconvenience. The landscaping contractor stopped by on 3/16 and said that they might install the front yard next week. We have not received any updates on the fencing. Again, very frustrating.

Tony was excellent during the "build" process. During the "build" process, we got switched to a new young guy named David. We thought he was poor, and didn't follow through on items we addressed, communication, etc. Was absolutely not pleased with him. After closing, the upstairs bathtub overflow had a piece that was not properly removed during install, and had a water leak downstairs. The plumbing company was rude, etc. Also, the carpet in downstairs hallway, looked like a piece mill job. Could see the seam, and it looked horrible. Addressed this with David multiple times after installation, and this was just "blown off". This was addressed and fixed during home warranty period. Once again......too much work on our part. I feel the Quality control during build process is poor. Should have been seemless. Too much work on our part. Don't think we would do a Classic home again.

I had a customer care person who dropped off the face of the earth mid repairs. After contacting Classic, a few weeks later I finally got a new customer care person. He is great. Although it is taking forever to get a gate and fence posts redone. They were not done properly the first time. I am currently getting landscaping done and do not have a working gate, so I won’t be able to let my dog out in the backyard.

I have a gate that wasn’t installed correctly back in February/March and it still hasn’t been fixed. Also, we were never told until closing that we would not have a mailbox. Still waiting on the mailbox. Basement tub shower wasn’t installed correctly and we had a leak. That had to be redone

Working with Lisa and June was such a pleasure. WE just love them and getting the darling updates weekly were fantastic. They are so personable and professional! Mikey kept us so informed as to his weekly updates also. He was very patient and answered all our questions fully and honestly. He is so great and such an asset to Classic Homes! The whole experience was fantastic! Thank you for all you have done for us. We definitely will be purchasing more from Lisa and June!

Our biggest challenge that we have experienced is in regard to our electrical. Apparently, the electricians come in and install outlets and switches were they choose with no thought or planning. Two identical houses have switches and outlets in different locations. We had complete walls without outlets and had to have Classic have them installed after we moved in. We have outlets and lights on the same circuits causing lights to flicker. So much thought and care went into the design of the house and then left to chance for the electrical. Overall, we love our home.

The paint and caulking job in my home is awful. That has been somewhat resolved but still doesn’t look like a professional paint/caulking job. Despite having a leak from the master bath to the basement on Day 3 of living in the house, everyone is of the opinion that the patch job is satisfactory.

I dislike that someone either doesn't know how to read a blueprint or the blueprint was totally ignored and Classic appears unwilling to do anything to remedy the situation.

It’s been hard trying to figure out who to go to with the 2 builders in the Retreat. We love our home but the condition of the Oakwood building sites near us is awful. The streets are very muddy as well.

Excellent service from Kyle. I also wanted to shout out to Kim Leif, who is handling the missing components. We have been missing a slew of cabinet doors, drawer boxes and fronts AND our refrigerator. Kim has been working hard getting everything straight and she's been in constant communication and always returns my calls. I know the supply chain issue is something Classic has no control of, however, they put the right people on the job. Thank you.

Business model is a bait and switch. Did a good job of keeping us updated. Fundamentally a soundly built home. Surprise sump pump in a bedroom that does not show up on floor plans. Too few interior color choices. Fit and finish is poor. Lousy job of cleaning the house before move-in. Pressured to close so that Classic could get out from under the construction loan when house was not ready to be occupied.

Everything is only done half way. We have had a new refrigerator door in our home since December but no one to put it on. They do drywall repairs that look horrible and then we are left with the cleanup. There is no regard for the fact that this is our HOME when repairs are done.

The warranty service representative was very responsive and did his best to resolve all issues quickly. However, he cannot do all the same work that the trades people are qualified to do and called in the experts when needed.

The PDI process needs to be re-evaluated. There were numerous holes that had to be cut into our drywall to fix problems that Classic should have identified beforehand. Problems included HVAC ducts, electrical, fixture placement, and water leak. Why is it the buyer's responsibility to perform Quality Control? If the buyer is going to be charged for any changes that affect drywall, the builder should provide a credit for each time the drywall is affected too. Very disappointing. Also, there was so much drywall dust in the home when we moved in we spent many hours (>10) cleaning fixtures, floors, counters, and vacuuming.

I liked having the sales staff to contact if I had questions or concerns. They always seemed to have the answers or would forward to the appropriate people. I liked the weekly calls & photos. I disliked the fact that in spite of all good intentions, the building managers and trades people were spread way too thin. Maybe a result of over-selling or the global pandemic or both.

Our biggest challenge that we have experienced is in regard to our electrical. Apparently, the electricians come in and install outlets and switches were they choose with no thought or planning. Two identical houses have switches and outlets in different locations. We had complete walls without outlets and had to have Classic have them installed after we moved in. We have outlets and lights on the same circuits causing lights to flicker. So much thought and care went into the design of the house and then left to chance for the electrical. Overall, we love our home.

I dislike that someone either doesn't know how to read a blueprint or the blueprint was totally ignored and Classic appears unwilling to do anything to remedy the situation.

It’s been hard trying to figure out who to go to with the 2 builders in the Retreat. We love our home but the condition of the Oakwood building sites near us is awful. The streets are very muddy as well.
