Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers
Monument, on Feb 26, 2024
Finish work on cabinets throughout house remain unresolved.
Monument, CO, on Aug 05, 2024
The "preferred lender" was a horrible experience- I would never recommend anyone use Pentrust. We do not feel we were treated honestly or ethically. We found out after closing the salesman was dishonest about the HOA, and level of involvement to expect. We received a violation letter about landscaping issues that we already discussed with Classic before move -in. We were in not so many words told "well you can't have chickens, but they are very lax about everything else". During closing, we told "no one reads these", as we read through the documents before signing. We said "we are readers and would like to take our time and understand everything and ask questions if we need to". The response was "well I have another appointment and if I had know that I would have emailed these to you to reread before today."

It has been an easy process to get things corrected.
Monument, on Feb 21, 2023
Great experience overall with everything. Only issue was the warranty items.
Monument, CO, on Jul 12, 2024
I liked the weekly updates, the timely and fast responses to questions.
Monument, on Aug 09, 2024
All my requests have been promptly handled, and any issues were fixed correctly.
Monument, on Feb 08, 2023
Too many delays with excuses not aligned with the delays. Still not happy that we became a number and not a name.
Monument, CO, on Apr 11, 2024
I really liked being kept up to date on the progress. My superintendent was awesome and the warranty process is seamless!
Monument, on Jul 17, 2024
They have been great. Ricky has been awesome helping me correct issues as they come up.
Monument, on Jan 27, 2023
I continue to find issues with the home, but most of them I am not or have not put in for work because it is easier for me to just fix/address them. I have an outstanding item for cracks in the stucco, which continue to develop more of them, as well as the ones previously noted are growing and expanding. The other issue is related to the HOA enforcement and management. There has been a new management company appointed, so we will just have to wait and see how this is handled moving forward. I personally do not believe the craftmanship is there in our home, but again, it is easier for me to address them immediately than continually open cases associated (i.e. bi-fold door in our basement the floor bracket was not even secured into the stud, and the door fell off). Items similar to the mentioned. We have a squeak in our floor around the stairs which was present when we moved, in and is getting worse. All-in-all, it is a roof over our head and a personal investment moving forward, but I am not sure in confidence I could build another home with Classic.
Monument, on May 14, 2023
The communication between us (buyer) & classic homes is very effective.
Monument, CO, on Mar 24, 2024
Sales staff was wonderful from start to finish. As to the house itself, since I was not present during the finish work I was not able to catch some of the flaws.
Monument, on Oct 05, 2022
I was thankful that Classic was quick to fix a leak in my roof after a heavy rainstorm. I was also thankful that Classic agreed to cover the cost of cleanup/restoration after that same rainstorm flooded my yard and neighbor's basement.
Monument, on Jan 26, 2023
The quality of construction is not up to mark. There are cracks in the bathrooms where water can leak into the building. The flooring in the living room is not laid well, classic did not fix in spite of multiple requests. The roofing is bad. Multiple shingles flew away from the roof within a 10months of construction.
Monument, CO, on Mar 24, 2024
I appreciated the weekly communication from the sales team regarding the progress of my home being built. Even though I stopped by on a regular basis, the pictures were great. The design center was also a great experience! I disliked having 3 different superintendents being responsible for my build. It made it more difficult to gain trust with the super. It also meant more communication on my behalf with the supers to get concerns addressed because I might mention something to one super who forgot to mention it to another. There should also be copies of the pre-drywall and new home presentation punch list given to the homebuyer to ensure all items are followed up on and not forgotten.
Monument, on Jan 18, 2022
At closing, several touch-ups had not been completed. We were assured that Classic would not prioritize other homes that were nearing closing over ours and would complete the touch-ups on time. But that is exactly what happened. Exterior painting that had been missed was not completed. Laminate floor boards that had been cut too short were supposed to be replaced, but never were. Covid was blamed for a paint shortage that prevented the exterior work. For a short time, a representative reached out with updates, promising they would complete the work. But we are now a year out and there is radio silence. Not a shining example of customer service or quality work.
Monument, on Sep 28, 2022
There are still some areas that require repair (front door frame damage). We signed off on everything in the original walkthrough and are happy with those repairs.
Monument, CO, on Mar 13, 2024
There was great communication all through out the whole process.
Monument, on Dec 11, 2021
This is our second new build and we were happy with the first experience, But Classic Homes took it to another level with their customer service and quality of product.
Monument, on Aug 19, 2022
I do not have an issue with our Warranty Person, Robert Sandavol, at all. He is very responsive and tends to keep us in the loop on things. I somewhat feel like he was not delivered a good bill of goods, and is working extra hard to ensure issues are resolved. We understand supply chain issues, and difficulty with labor being able to address some of the issues. This being said, all-in-all we are pleased with our home. Robert's reaction time has been good and responsive, just feel like he is cleaning up a lot of issues not just on our home, but others in the area as well. Again, not sure he was provided with the best bill of goods. Jackson Creek North (Phase II), also has some major drainage issues, which I believe are being addressed. No one really seems to be the one to own up to the overall design challenges of the neighborhood, but as I mention I believe Classic has stepped up to the plate to address these issues. This is not specific to our home though.
Monument, CO, on Jan 12, 2024
Love the build, I have an issue with finishes and the quality of installation weren’t as solid as our first build with Classic. There are some things I think need to be improved on.
Monument, on Nov 15, 2021
Still not convinced I don't have an electrical problem in kitchen, but if it is a problem, it will manifest itself this winter. Robert is aware of this and has been supportive and very helpful but we'll see. Otherwise I'm very satisfied,
Monument, on Aug 09, 2022
Great response time and ability and willingness to fix problems that arise
Monument, on Oct 08, 2021
Start to finish Classic was a joy to work with. Karen in the sales office was kind and understanding of my unique situation. As a single mom I’ve had experiences were others have not taken me seriously or been very dismissive….but not Karen! She was as has been a true supporter and encourager through the entire process. It’s such a great feeling to have another woman supporting and cheering for another woman to make her dreams happen!
Monument, CO, on Apr 08, 2023
We very much enjoyed the weekly communication over the course of the build from both the Classic office and the contractor.
Monument, on May 18, 2021
Professional staff. Easy communication and quick to answer questions. Craig, Karin and Greg are amazing.
Monument, on May 24, 2022
Warranty (and repairs listed on closing) repairs were done shoddily. Apparently Classic Homes is ok with caulk repairs and spackle to fix wood damage. I finally got our fridge, and it doesn't fit. I had to push back with the cabinet folks to get the repairs done properly. The more and more time goes on, the more and more it's apparent that Classic does the least it can to resolve these issues. Often meaning they are not doing it right. Beautiful home, I'm concerned about the quality of what I cannot see because of what I've seen since we closed.
Monument, CO, on Jan 16, 2023
Constant communication and updates to include weekly phone calls and videos. Extremely helpful and awesome customer service.
Monument, on Apr 14, 2021
Responsiveness to warranty work was prompt. Sales reps were honest and informative. House is well built and a good value
Monument, on Apr 24, 2022
Warranty service for garage door issue was quick and the rep did a great job. However there are many other issues that Classic was supposed to fix after our 60 day follow up and it never happened. Our driveway is crumbling, lot needs to be regraded after several contractors have driven through our yard and left tire marks, house was never painted after siding was sealed, gutter was improperly installed and flew off the house during a storm, front door does not shut, carpet is pulling up in low traffic areas.
Monument, CO, on Jun 08, 2022
Everything was good from contract through closing except the last 2 months when the onsite builders Justyn and Seth failed to complete the job in a satisfactory manner. There are numerous items on an original walk through punch list from 3 months ago that are still not complete.
Monument, CO, on May 08, 2022
Likes: Quality of Product –I am impressed with Classic's standard of quality in materials and finished product. Above and beyond! –I really enjoyed the design phase (Ashley Warnoff was amazing to work with) –I'm thankful for Classic's decision to swallow rising lumber costs and not pass that on to the homebuyer. –I am also thankful that Classic allows homebuyers to lock in a housing price in a rising market. Dislikes: Lack of Support/Communication –I completely understand that covid ramifications and supply chain backorders made things really difficult for Classic, but overall I was disappointed in Classic's support for the homebuyer during the evolving situation. I felt very little support from Classic as I was trying to plan furniture drops, interest rates, a closing date, loan paperwork, career move, etc. And I wasn't even in a precarious housing situation. (I can't imagine trying to navigate the extending timeline of a new build while selling my current house!) I am not angry. I just think the situation could have been handled/communicated better as changes emerged. –I was not informed until later that my GC was replaced. I think I cycled through 3 GCs? Kyle, Justin, Seth? Maybe there were more? I don't even know if that is typical or not. –I was under the impression I would be given a weekly update on the house, but there were several weeks that went by with no communication. Not a big deal. Just unmet expectations in my mind that reflected poorly on Classic.
Monument, on Mar 20, 2022
Until the closing everyone was very nice and answer all the questions. After closing they are very mean and never keep the word. My closing was on October 19th still no answer for the cabinets, broken windows, leaking roof etc.
Monument, CO, on May 07, 2022
Few things not completed. And no clue on when they will be done. No follow up.
Monument, on Dec 24, 2021
Still waiting to hear back and long wait times to have repairs taken care of
Monument, on Sep 12, 2021
Warranty service/customer care has taken care of all of our issues in a prompt manner. We are still waiting for construction to fix the aesthetics of the exterior of our basement windows.
Monument, CO, on Apr 09, 2022
The timeline was long, but I do understand the supply chain challenges. During the design center process, the paperwork was not processed. We contacted Karin and she was able to resolve the lost papers (thanks Karin). However, they were no able to make up the lost weeks, and we were then at the bottom of the list instead of where we would have been if paperwork was processed on time.
Monument, on Jul 24, 2021
Mostly positive experience. I'm still waiting for my pop-outs to be painted correctly. House was completed in Feb, the pop out issue was addressed at the 60-day f/u. Still waiting...
Monument, CO, on Mar 19, 2022
Classic stayed in constant communication throughout build.
Monument, on Jun 17, 2021
So far I’ve only had to make one service request and they got back to me within and hour and had someone there the same day.
Monument, CO, on Mar 18, 2022

Monument, on Jun 15, 2021

Monument, CO, on Mar 17, 2022
1. Classic Homes took 13months to build my home. 2. Classic Homes charged me $7982 more than the price listed in the price sheet. When asked I was asked me leave. I still have two price sheets printed on different dates that did not include this additional cost. 3. Classic Homes did not honor their commitment of putting a 20sqft of cement (of value $120) which they agreed and I docu-signed. They out rightly denied ever having agreed although signed document says otherwise. When I asked further, I was asked to leave. 4. Classic Homes charged me $15367 for a third garage which does not have an opener worth $300. The contract neither said it is prewire-only nor it does not come with the opener. Another customer who bought a home (1949 Clayhouse Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80919) was given a garage opener for no additional cost. A garage with no opener was very frustrating even though we got a good house built. 5. I have had few other unpleasant experience at the design studio, Low voltage and Sales, but I can overlook them as few things are bound to occur in a housing project. Overall, the end product is good but the experience is bitter and disappointing.

Multiple issues with the quality of the trades used to build and many issues and resistance when attempting to repair
Monument, CO, on Mar 10, 2022

Monument, on Jan 29, 2021
Too many “industry standard” excuses to not address issues with the home.
