The sales team and project manager provided weekly updates during construction. The sales team sent photos of the progress enabling us to watch the building of our home from the ground to completion. They were professional, courteous and answered all of our questions with patience and understanding. We love Classic's professionals!

The ONLY issue that we have/had is the heating unit. The bedroom remains at 63 degrees when the hall thermostat is set at 69. The living room is 69. We have adjusted vents and have had someone out twice. We've been told the blower is fine, the temp is fine and that it is 'typical' for a room further from the furnace to be 3-4 degrees less. This morning, outside temp 12 degrees, the living room was 69 and the master was 61. I cannot believe this is 'normal'. We will, once again, try to adjust and close off the living room vents closest to the thermostat.

A couple of minor issues that they said there was nothing they could do (i.e. carpet tack strips on stairs, garage entry door know sticks, space/gap between garage entry door threshold and wood floor they said there was nothing they could do).

We thoroughly enjoyed the process of buying our first home, and owe Classic a lot of credit as they were a huge variable in the equation. Specifically, Kyle and Tory who never hesitated to take the time to explain something, touch something up or fix something. They were always professional and helpful, and the only times they were unable to make a change we wanted they had a reason for it. The initial contract phase was made simple and straightforward by Annie, Sean and Maurine. Sean helped me with the earnest money which was a hassle as I had to get separate money orders and Annie and Maurine were always on top of things and able to answer any question we had in detail. Once we moved into the house, Kyle continued to check in and make sure things were alright and I really appreciated that. However, we began to notice two fairly prominent issues as we settled in. The crawlspace was improperly sealed/the fiber glass was poorly done, resulting in a musty smell the emanated throughout the house. The second issue was the temperature and circulation of air throughout the house. Specifically, we are very concerned about the guest bedrooms as our 16 month old son sleeps in one of them. During warm days those two rooms heat up drastically compared to the master bedroom as well as the lower level. In fact, the lower level ends up being quite chilly as we run the A/C trying to cool the other rooms to no avail. The reverse effect was noticed on one of the earlier cold days we had, that being more concerning due to our son being to cold at night. The windows do a poor job of blocking the more extreme temperatures, you can feel the heat and cold emanating from them from a few feet away. My other guess would be the fact that those two rooms sit above the garage, so specifically on the cold days, you can actually be wearing socks and feel the cold through your sock and the carpet. We first brought these issues to the attention of (pardon if this is wrong I am bad with names) Robert in customer care after having some inspection done in the crawlspace, where they found standing water and a few breaches in the vapor barrier. I'll be honest, we were very disappointed in the dismissive and unhelpful reaction from him. He came out two or three times to meet with us and our realtor and wasn't offering up any helpful solutions until we kept pushing the issue. Kyle and Tory were there for one meeting and though they agreed with Robert to an extent, they at least crawled around trying to find/patch holes and check every wall for breaches in the insulation or vapor barrier. Whoever handles the crawlspace and insulation work ended up being called and came out and was very helpful. He scheduled the worker that had done the initially poor job and got that taken care of very quickly. This did not resolve the smell, however. USI came out and put in some odor eating crystals that have helped, and we don't expect the situation to be remedied any further as we really don't see what more can be done other than uprooting the house. Eventually James helped us as well and he couldn't be better suited for a customer service job. Polite, kind and professional and he genuinely comes across as someone who would do anything to help with the new home. He was running point on the circulation issue and a called out a gentleman to take a look at the amount of air coming from each vents. All of them were at good levels according to the technician, and I guess I just have to take his word for it. But the temperature issue has persisted regardless of the suggestions given to us. The tech recommended running the fan at all times to circulate temperate air and he personally adjusted all of the vents for maximum air flow. This points me to the garage not being well insulated enough to prevent a significant temperature change in the rooms above it. I would appreciate this being looked into within the first year of us being here, and I will submit a separate request, but figured I would also mention that here as it is really the only thing about our home we are really displeased with. Overall, I loved working with everyone from Classic. Quality company with quality employees.
