Loved the sellers office. They were knowledgeable and willing to help at all points during the process. Our third foreman didn’t communicate as well as we would have liked but the other three were awesome and there for us at every step. We were a little disappointed at the focus on detail when it came to custom requests. Each that we made, we had to go back and remind the construction people and all had to be fixed after the fact. One we let go of because of a mistake in communication on Classics part. Another was fixed According to the plan and the others look like a quick fix rather than a careful touch up. We also feel like once we closed on our home, all the fixes that we have requested we’re put on the back burner. Many have still not been addressed and no one has reached out to us to give updates or just let us know a time frame. And there are quite a few since our first walk through that have not been touched. We love our house and are glad to be in. The quality of the product is fabulous.

In general, the quality of the build and the mechanics within the house are less than optimal when compared to other houses that I have owned over the years. Overall, there has been a lack of attention paid to the build details, which resulted in a malfunctioning furnace, molding falling off of the kitchen cabinents, and a malfunctioning shower that leaks. Classic has fixed some but not all of the identified, broken issues. I am still waiting for my stove to be fixed. It was damaged when molding fell on it.

Everyone worked hard and did an overall good job from Jeff and team to John, Kevin and Tom. Everyone is incredibly nice and helpful. We loved getting the pictures regularly. The communication was average. Some examples are: 1. We are on a common drive. All ramifications of this arrangement should have been communicated well from the beginning. 2. We were very confused on the spa electrical. We had it in and removed it because it seemed if we got it we would have to have the spa next to the house. It turns out that it really was moving the electrical to the back of the house and then we could put a spa anywhere and do another run. This is what we wanted, but it wasn't communicated well.

Nothing. I think that the experience with Classic has been great, with the exception of the warranty dept. There is a lack of communication by my assigned representative. She showed once with no appointment, then asked to use our ladder to do a repair. The repair was completed and she just left the ladder on our back deck. There was an issue that was recognized in our pre-closing walk through and she alleges it will/can not be addressed. There are multiple obvious (visual or sound) issues that she makes what I feel are canned/standard answers that she feeds everyone. This is based on conversations with any neighbors that have the same representative and also have nothing positive to say. The running joke around the neighborhood is she says no to everything! Thankfully the construction dept (Mac Thompson) has been great to work with. He was sent by Steve (construction mgr) and acknowledged there was definitely a noise in our basement powder and that he could even feel the vibration on the wall. Our warranty rep said she heard nothing in there. I would think that she should have good hearing and eyesight to complete this role and maybe she is in the wrong role. Then when something isn't covered, there is no communication. Just an email stating that all items reviewed in our meeting have been addressed. When I asked about the rest, she said they're not covered. She also said a light couldn't be moved that was clearly off center. She alleged it was centered and the sink faucet was off center. The electrician walked into the bathroom and said "that's not centered". Which make me question her integrity and/or skills as every issue she doesn't see or hear is cleary seen/heard by others. It would also seems from an efficiency perspective for Classic that it isn't the best use of the construction teams time to have them come in when warranty should be addressing items. OBVIOUS items - like upper floor windows with deep scratches on the exterior. I guess shame on me for not going from floor to ceiling and climbing on my roof in the approx 1 hour I had to walk my house prior to my closing or bringing in a third party vendor, which I considered but felt Classic would do the right thing. Which - Classic has or is working on addressing these items but again, via your construction dept, not warranty/cust svce. I also sent an additional warranty item and she replied with a short comment stating that it would be addressed at an upcoming appt. When she came out, she admitted she hadn't even read it!

Everyone at Classic was knowledgeable, nice and kept us in the loop as to what was going on since we were living out east while our home was being built. We had a couple issues but they were resolved quickly. We are very happy with our new home.

Everything was excellent until we did the final walk through, thinking everything that was identified was going to be addressed, we left that meeting without documentation for it later to be discovered that not everything was addressed/documented/or demonstrated reluctance to address and being told we would have to take it up with warranty or put a service request in to address the concerns and that maybe they would be addressed. Supers were swapped out and the continuity of getting the home and lot squared away has seemingly diminished with minor exceptions. The lot was never cleaned and construction debris still litters the lot since the 12th or March when we moved in. Rear gutters are leaking and eroding the dirt out from under the back concreate porch this item has been addressed with the super as well as submitting a repair request through the classic website without resolve. Those that do show up to address defects or conduct repairs also comment on the construction debris throughout the yard. Seems like we are off to a very rough start. Hope it gets better, right now disappointment seems to be creeping in.

Warranty rep has not resolved my cracked front porch. It was patched during original pour. The crack is on the edge of the porch and will eventually spall off due to winter freeze/thaw. I requested that a VP level person contact me to resolve though that has not happened.

Sales was excellent! The building process after was a bit frustrating communication wise which was mostly due to changing building supervisors. Our final one, Tyler was absolutely fabulous! Certain subcontractors utilized were not up to par like tile work, gutters etc. Items from the pre closing walkthroughs we’re not completed by the time we closed and it took a while to get the poor building supervisor out as the specialties couldn’t be bothered (yet again quality of subcontractors leaving much to be desired), so he had to take care of issues himself. Ultimately, we absolutely love our home and the overall quality of our bones is great. We would not hesitate to recommend Classic to anyone but we’d make clear that the expectations set by sales are not necessarily lived up to, so they can be prepared.

Not much. Still having electrical problems. Apparently it is not a big concern on Classics end. I own my own business and have my wife working from home and as of today 6/6/20 we have no power in the office. Was told to fill out a service request, that it is a inconvenience and not a emergency. I wonder if the model home that Jeff and Teresa work in had no power if it would be a emergency or just a inconvenience.

The buying process was smooth. The building process could have gone better because nearly every change order was done wrong the first time and had to be torn out and redone. It would have been nice if the CHANGE ORDERS WERE READ THE FIRST TIME. This was very frustrating. Some of the subs used on construction of our home were questionable tradesmen. Stucco was a disaster and had to be redone in several areas due to flaking off, and the deck is sagging due to the use of wet wood that warped and has now caused major sagging (to be repaired soon, we hope). Classic warranty service has been very good, but I just wish we didn't have to have warranty work done. We have also had two cracked windows due to settling (I'm told).

I liked that there is a model home to visit. What I don't like about that is that there isn't a clear description of what is standard and what was upgraded to give an idea when starting to build my own home. I like that there are weekly updates and photos provided. As someone who build from across the country it was nice to see the progress. I don't like that it seems as if there are many options/upgrades that your sales office and design studio didn't inform me of. The only reason I knew was from viewing it on a home and then inquiring. Classic could probably make more if people knew these were available. There are options that I discovered too late that I would have added. I do not like that the quality of some products seem sub-standard. The windows are less than impressive. The sliding door is so small. I would have paid to upgrade to a larger door. The tile application in my master shower, that I paid quite a bit to upgrade is bad. I have concerns about future issues. There are gaps of no grout between some tiles. They came out multiple times to address this and it is still not right. The surround of my fireplace sheetrock is bad - it has jagged edges. I also mentioned this multiple times. The stucco on the white portion of the exterior of the windows makes it look dirty. This could have been cleaned up better. It just seems as if there is not a lot of pride taken in the work completed versus a rush to get it done. The overspray from paint, poor stain on the handrails and newell post. Though they are small things, they are the finishing touches and details you would expect when moving into a brand new house. If this was a pre-built, I would expect minor cosmetic issues as it was previously lived in.

This is our second Classic home that we have built. We had a flawless experience the first time but this time around it has been rough to say the least with many obstacles along the way! I think Classic's superintendents are too busy to actually monitor what is going on in the home build process and their subs. They are over-extended possibly with the MANY Classic homes being built right now? Great for Classic to be busy but not so much if their quality control is at risk? So much was missed in our home we feel. Also since we lived two blocks away to our second Classic Home build, we walked by and followed the building process on our new home on a daily basis. WE are the ones whom locked up the house always left open and some nights doors to interior even left open with wind storms going on outside and blowing dirt inside everywhere and Miller Moths going in to the home since subs left all the lights on! Items on both of our walk throughs still have NOT been addressed and repaired/finished and it's been a month since we closed and moved in. We look forward to meeting with Liz in Warranty in August as we have quite a list of repairs and things just NOT DONE RIGHT and some things blatant damage! What upsets us the most is the poor -very poor quality paint job on our trim wood. The painter actually overlapped the baseboard pieces on his platform to paint and left solid lines running down the middle of our baseboards which I chose with Cheryl Hart at The Design Center for their modern sleek look. Many trim nail holes were never filled before painted and many trim wood pieces have divots missing and pieces left hanging on and painted over which make our woodwork look like a 125 year old home! Jeff Smith would never accept this in his own home! We have built many homes in multiple countries over many decades and have not seen woodwork ever completed and left unchanged by a superintendent like this EVER! We have had nothing but positive feelings about Classic Homes the past 3 years in our other home. We have had many problems before and after moving into this second Classic home which we feel might never have occurred if things were more closely monitored. We hope that things can get repaired soon that are still awaiting on our list with Tom Irving from our walk throughs and then address the things that need attention that we have found since moving in. Having been golf members at Flying Horse and having friends living in many Classic communities we know how well Classic can do things! We still believe Classic is a great company and feel that they WILL take care of the workmanship of their subs where due. We have had rave reviews regarding Classic Homes in the past and hope we can continue to have them!

Everyone we dealt with was kind, amazing and helpful. The only issue we had is with the finishing touches on the home. Its is more sloppy then i was expecting and something as simple as leveling a light switch/outlet wasnt done amongst other little things.

The sales team was great! I didn't like Classics policy of Chang Order requests. It truly felt like we were being "Nickel and Dimed".

Everything was easy and stress free. All I needed to focus on were my choices and preferences. Classic Homes took care of the rest. Superb communication and clear understanding of what to expect, even through the stressful COVID situation. Classic Homes president kept me informed about how my construction would continue. Our sales team Jeff and Theresa were the best by always answering our millions of questions. Our construction leads John and Tom were clear on way ahead and follow up after move in. I couldn't be happier with my whole Classic team!

Warranty rep has not resolved my cracked front porch. It was patched during original pour. The crack is on the edge of the porch and will eventually spall off due to winter freeze/thaw. I requested that a VP level person contact me to resolve though that has not happened.
