Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers
Monument, CO, on Jun 12, 2024
We liked the communication from start to finish. Ken, Jenna, and Paul were very kind and responsive to answer any questions or concerns we had. We would have liked to have had the specs of the model home we toured to compare to the home we purchased. Some items we assumed or were told were the same, and later found out were different than what we saw and/or were told.

Service has been responsive and timely. Unfortunately our issue with the electricity and flickering lights has not been resolved and passed off as “normal” which is incorrect
Monument, on Oct 21, 2024
Everything has been great with the exception of the front porch. The concrete was badly permanently stained and Classic would not make it right for us.
Monument, on Mar 04, 2024
I did this a few months earlier. so I feel that there is some redundancy here. But let me answer this question anyway: Early on, the heros were the sames office (Paul and Josh), John, and Ken. I can imagine that the role of each comes with very hard work, patience, and the willingness to serve. They have accomplished all that, each in different and important ways. The newest hero is Dave. We have built five new homes in our lives. We chose highly rated (I think in each, the most respected) builders. From Shapell in CA to Classic. Dave has earned our trust. It is always a pleasure to work with he and Christine. We still have work to be done, as is part of the process and time needed. But we do not doubt that we are in excellent hands. I also want to shout out to some of your affiliates. The workers at Guy Baker Decks were excellent. Such excellent employees. The repair work was excellent, and they caught and solved another safety item. Zach is the lead, I believe. A valuable employee for the company. Love that guy at Elite Drywall. His name is Rick. So as molasses... like waiting for drywall to dry!! But great work! Worth the wait! You scoped out a potential plumbing leak. Still not sure what that is, but haven't seen the problem since. But your plumbing guy who scoped it out was professional, and thorough as far as I can tell. Still working through BBC warranty. No problem, waiting for the items to arrive. We are very patient. But we appreciate the response to the problems they overlooked - covered up. I am confident it will get resolved. But they came through a little better than expected, especially with the idea/solution of preventing the doors from hitting the wall. I have to rag on Home Run. When I think about them, and in particular Jom Hannigan, they continue to suck. Please look at someone else. They are like s XXXXX -fed children the way they work with your customers. While nice, Jim Hannigan has got to be one of the laziest people I have ever delt with. I am seeing the same thing with him and two other buyers/referrals we are working through. Here is the latest: In early December, I requested a quote on a few items. I followed up a few times. He assured me after the holidays they would be on this quote. It' March 4th - nothing. Now I have to go find someone who can integrate with the security camera tech they use. Home Run... really sucks!! Putting home run aside and some of the other areas, I would give you a 10 out of 10 so far. Get rid of Home Run, and you are at a 9!!! I sure hope all this helps!! And PS... I love Maureen at Forest Lakes. She is working with two of my referrals. Just love that lady! Rich Arzaga

We still have a little work to be done, which we agreed made sense on the 11th month of the warranty. But we are still very pleased with our home and are grateful to everyone who has contributed to building and delivering it. I can tell you this is largely to the people we see here at the site. This is such a nice organization of people. On this back-end, namely Dave and Christina in warranty. And then we run into Ken and John. And the people we see around the community like Adam Pillmore and Ashley. I know I am missing a few we haven't seen in awhile. And your vendors have largely stepped up. Thank you!

Experience was great and Classic worked with us throughout the process. I don’t like that I was told about classic paying for memberships for homebuyers to Flying Horse and “oh we don’t do that now, so you can fork over the $16,000”

Liked: Chase has been great and supportive. Disliked: The length of time it has taken to resolve issues.

There is alot to share, almost all positive. I am happy to do this personally, more interactively. I don't need to, but I am very happy to help and provide feedback. The downside is the process and or work with some of your subcontractors. Brooks Brothers was very disappointing. So much sloppy work. When a worker makes a mistake on where to drill drawer pulls, and does a terrible job on patching, they should have known the buyer would find that objectional. And other cabinet disappointments. Guy Baker did not review or check his work on the deck. We were happy to pay extra for a larger deck. I wish he would have checked his work. Home Run is a love-hate. Nice people, but damn, sure are lazy, slow, and overpriced. Those are the reasons for the "9" which should actually be an "8" if not for the excellent people at classic taking it over "10" on their side. Josh and Paul have been really outstanding. I could not ask for better assistance and care! At the top of the pyramid is Ken, who has been wonderful to work with. And we really appreciate our recent work with Dave. He is knowledgeable, supportive, and a terrific problem solver. I love the classic people! Thank you!

Like: The builders (Tony and John) were amazing to work with, and James (warranty) was also very good. Dislike: Classic must know that it has a issue with roof drainage on the north facing side of the home that creates an ice rink at the front door that manifests in a slip and fall mess. Classic needs to figure out a better design. We noticed the same model up the street (on Panoramic) had the drainage by the garage, while ours is at the front door. It's a mess and needs to be addressed in design rather than continuing to propagate the issue. Also, the master shower floor tile we have continues to be stained in spite of Classic attempting to remedy the issue. We paid far too much to deal with a subpar look in a new home. People that visit actually comment on the floor tile. Does not reflect well on Classic.
Monument, CO, on Mar 15, 2023
I would have liked to have been informed of the notion of a custom price request. We wanted different colors of kitchen cabinets on the wall and base cabinets and were told it wasn't an option in design.
Monument, on Aug 01, 2023
Extremely unimpressed with our Warranty representative.
Monument, on Dec 16, 2023
There are areas where we have seen a quality in craftsmanship throughout the home. Items which could potentially cause structure concerns (hold in side of the house) have not been fixed despite requests submitted to our warranty rep.
Monument, CO, on Mar 04, 2023
The customer experience was outstanding and driven by the friendly faces of Teresa Smith and Jeff Ellis. Their personal approach and detailed discussions about our first home buying/building experience made us truly cherish choosing Classic Homes.

Monument, CO, on Feb 21, 2023
I liked going through the process and being able to pick finishes, designs, etc. I enjoyed working with Jeff and Teresa, who were really helpful throughout the process, kept us updated, and always seemed to be on our side - great customer service. I did not like a lack of choices for some things (i.e. garage doors), and I wish Classic would invest in software that would allow you to see what your design choices look like in your home, which would be so helpful. We've had a few unresolved issues since we moved in, which has been frustrating, as well as the many many personnel changes that have occurred recently, which has only added to the frustration and lack of resolve on these issues.
Monument, on Jul 07, 2023
No communication for issues. Have submitted multiple times. Major issue still not fixed.
Monument, on Sep 08, 2023
No complaints about service, all I've noticed are minor cosmetic issues with finishes such as paint. I am concerned about some areas of my floor, but was informed that they would deal with that at my one year anniversary which is fine with me.
Monument, CO, on Feb 14, 2023
Things discussed in initial contract meeting were not upheld. If it wasn’t in writing it essentially didn’t exist to Classic. Very disappointed by this. Rest of the experience during the build was as expected.
Monument, on May 10, 2023
As one of the first black and white homes in sanctuary pointe, I am finding a few exterior paint touch up areas that should have been done before closing. This new color scheme really shows the missed areas on the stucco. They are now "owner upkeep" which kind of XXXXX s considering they were there from the beginning but not found until later. The black painted garage doors are not holding up on the edges where the paint is rubbing off with the weather stripping. My laminate floors are coming apart throughout the first floor. I appreciate that classic is working diligently to take care of the floor issue.
Monument, on Jun 20, 2023
It’s been a little slow to get things done and several things we asked to be done were not taken care of or weren’t done well.
Monument, CO, on Feb 06, 2023
I do not like working with Home Run. They gave me push back on outdoor ceiling speaker prewire in the deck. They refused to put the speaker wire where I wanted it, stating they did not want to incur the liability of running speaker wire to the wood ceiling. Our builder, Kevin, was able to get home run to hide the wires in that ceiling, but home run said they were required to still install two pre-wires into the wall on the deck, after we ask them repeatedly not to. In addition, home run pre-wired our Central vacuum, and told us it would be cheaper if we bought the unit and the accessories after we close. This just demonstrated a lack of loyalty to classic homes, and as a result I'll never buy anything from home run again. Very dishonest. This is absolutely no fault of classic homes or their employees.
Monument, on May 08, 2023
We love the home. Not happy with the approval process of the house behind us. They did not have to approve the tallest roof to be installed. Could have built a lower profile roof. The current roof is 12-15 higher than need be. Saddle tree has many lower profile roofs.
Monument, on Jun 11, 2023
The warranty service is so busy, it takes about a month to get an appointment.
Monument, CO, on Jan 16, 2023
Upfront sales office was not attentive to details. A few important details were miscommunicated.
Monument, on Mar 01, 2023
You used some lower quality toilets in some bathrooms, Not Kohler and you did not put soft close toilet seats its annoying and doesn't cost much. The heating in the basement is poor always cold Used cheep low quality light bulbs all have failed in my kitchen area and not easy to change, cannot use the extension poles for changing the bulbs due to they slim shape.
Monument, on Jun 08, 2023
We have found numerous cosmetic flaws in our home over the course of 5 months. Some should have been noticed by the builder and their contractors. For example, broken or chipped tile roof. We discovered over the course of time. Now we feel the need to have the roof inspected by an independant contractor because we do not trust Classic Homes is acting in our best interests
Monument, CO, on Dec 13, 2022
Lack of attention to detail, poor quality work by some trades and the design center needs upgrading by using software. These products are used by other Reno and building firms. Classic is late.
Monument, on Jun 05, 2023
There are time commitments made and not met. I have to take time out from work to be able to get the service and I have had multiple no show events to take care of agreed upon tasks. The tasks that were fixed have to be redone multiple times. For example - there was a missed smart switch in the home and the electrician brought a wrong model with them and I had open another request to replace the switch. Everything until closing was an excellent experience.
Monument, on Jan 21, 2022
Staff was the best from the sales center to the warranty coordinator. Thanks for everything... the LBS's
Monument, CO, on Aug 11, 2022
The initial purchase process was overly pushy and felt like the only objective was to get my money to secure my chance to live in sanctuary pointe. Every question I asked about future lots and filings was answered with sales folks pleading ignorance and then getting my right back to signing for the last available lot in the current filing. Feeling like you settled for a $90k lot kind of starts the process off on the wrong foot. On the flip side, once the money is paid and the process begins, the recurring updates from sales and the interaction from Jon and Ken during the construction and even after move in have been fantastic and well appreciated. Constant updates from the guys actually building the house and interacting with the jobsite and tradesmen were very much appreciated.

Still having an issue with the track for our large sliding door unit. Entered a work order into the system months ago but no follow up. It has not been right since the day we moved in.
Monument, CO, on Aug 11, 2022
Classic kept us informed throughout the build process. Always friendly and positive. Once we moved in, Classic followed up to see if we needed anything, on more than 1 or 2 times.

After 6 months, we have not received our oven/microwave
Monument, on Dec 20, 2021
60 day walkthrough still needs to be completed. Noticed til in the master bathroom was chipped and caulked around. Baluster work still needs to be finished. Paint needs to be finished. Cabinets need to be finished. Paint needs touched up. Been nearly a year we moved in.

David has been incredibly accommodating with all the small issues we’ve found. I am still not thrilled with the yard between mine and the neighboring lot that is another developer. There was grass seed put down about 3 weeks prior to the community landscaping done on the main road above sunset splendor. They did hydro seeding and soil prep and it took off an looks great. I got grass seed on clay and no surprise it looks like nothing was planted at all despite rigorous watering.

1) Customer service has been outstanding! Sales team (Jeff and Theresa), POCs during construction process (Tom), warranty team (Liz) 2) Worksmanship/quality lacking: For $800k+, expected window frames to be level (they are "within tolerance I am told, which is BS for $800K+ home), long stucco cracks from one end to another with several "spider webs" of stucco cracks from settling (makes home look several years old), placement of radon system creates loud hum in guest bedroom and nothing can be done about it (and color of radon pipe doesn't match house so looks like after thought). Will ask AGAIN about these issues and several others during 12 month inspection with Classic.
Monument, CO, on Mar 20, 2022
Disappointed in quality of trade work- very poor. For example, paint and trim drops on floors; still have squeaky floors in kitchen and bedroom2 floors,; poor quality work of shiplap walls, broken glass light fixtures, heated floor sensors non functional, exterior paint-uneven or marked up, no cleanup of exterior grounds( still pieces of stone work) - the list is long.
Monument, on Jul 02, 2022
Brian has done an outstanding job of ensuring that the warranty items identified have been fixed. The only issue is the giant mountain of dirt on the Saddletree lot (16415 Golden Sun Way) behind us. I would really like Classic's help to have them remove it. It has been there for over 6 months.
Monument, on Jul 02, 2021
We are happy with the decision to purchase a Classic built home.
Monument, CO, on Mar 17, 2022
We are grateful to have purchased a home in Santurary Pointe and are looking forward to moving in soon. We have been pleased overall with the quality of the home. The one area of concern, and frustration, is the inferior quality of the tile work in the bathrooms. The top tiles in the bathrooms are not symmetrical and do not look good. We will need to have the work redone and pay additional money. With the price and quality Classic Homes is striving to achieve, this should not be acceptable to you as a builder. We were also bothered by the grout in the bathtubs with the subway tiles. Supposedly we asked for an upgrade and the grout is gritty and sandy looking. We, honestly, did not know grout came in anything but smooth.
Monument, on Jun 14, 2021
For the most part the home is ok. Besides garbage/food being found in our airvent vents from the construction and our concrete in the front of our house looking pretty bad from a "bad batch" of concrete. What i dislike most is how classic homes has and is handling some the the problems we have encountered with our home.
Monument, CO, on Feb 06, 2022
I am missing my oven/microwave combo, my correct dishwasher and wrapping for my vent hood. I understand the delays and my builder has done everything possible to accommodate me. I was just informed that my refrigerator is being delivered February 10th. I am making a list for the warranty person to fix minor items when we do our 60-day evaluation. I am sure all will be taken care of. My furnace has a lot of sheetrock dust and needs to be cleaned.
Monument, on Jun 22, 2022

Monument, on May 16, 2021
I think we should have been verbally told about the further development of the front of our neighborhood because it looks completely finished already and will mean construction for a long while and alter the look of the neighborhood main entrance significantly. But that’s it!
Monument, CO, on Feb 06, 2022
The entire Classic team worked together to make our home building process outstanding. From the sales team especially Jeff and Teresa who worked tirelessly to ensure that our questions were answered/addressed quickly to Jessica at the design center who worked so well with us to figure out how to translate our tastes into an awesome well put together design (we love how it turned out) and finally the great work of John and Kevin who spent the time with us from the beginning to help understand how the construction process would go and make sure that we had everything addressed. Kevin spent the extra time to make sure things were taken care of correctly. Just a great process and team. Last, I want to really appreciate the way company kept their commitment to the contract despite price increases and delays due to Covid. We are so happy to be in a Classic Home.

The warranty service is so busy, it takes about a month to get an appointment.

It turns out that the power cable for my outside light was not very deep enough it was cut. I’m still dealing with the situation

Brian has done an outstanding job of ensuring that the warranty items identified have been fixed. The only issue is the giant mountain of dirt on the Saddletree lot (16415 Golden Sun Way) behind us. I would really like Classic's help to have them remove it. It has been there for over 6 months.

Kent Pritchard is a great warranty person and addresses all my concerns.

David is our warranty guy. He has been amazing. Way better than our last guy when we built with Classic 5 years ago.

Everything has been great with the exception of the front porch. The concrete was badly permanently stained and Classic would not make it right for us.

There are areas where we have seen a quality in craftsmanship throughout the home. Items which could potentially cause structure concerns (hold in side of the house) have not been fixed despite requests submitted to our warranty rep.

No complaints about service, all I've noticed are minor cosmetic issues with finishes such as paint. I am concerned about some areas of my floor, but was informed that they would deal with that at my one year anniversary which is fine with me.

We love the home. Not happy with the approval process of the house behind us. They did not have to approve the tallest roof to be installed. Could have built a lower profile roof. The current roof is 12-15 higher than need be. Saddle tree has many lower profile roofs.

For the most part the home is ok. Besides garbage/food being found in our airvent vents from the construction and our concrete in the front of our house looking pretty bad from a "bad batch" of concrete. What i dislike most is how classic homes has and is handling some the the problems we have encountered with our home.

I think we should have been verbally told about the further development of the front of our neighborhood because it looks completely finished already and will mean construction for a long while and alter the look of the neighborhood main entrance significantly. But that’s it!
