Our salesperson lied to us about neighboring lots regarding how it would impact the Mountain views from the home. We had to fight to ensure that warranty promises were kept by Classic and continue to wait for additional warranty fixes to occur.

The initial process could have been better when choosing the items. Recommendations with pros and cons would help the buyer to make the right choices.

Nothing. I think that the experience with Classic has been great, with the exception of the warranty dept. There is a lack of communication by my assigned representative. She showed once with no appointment, then asked to use our ladder to do a repair. The repair was completed and she just left the ladder on our back deck. There was an issue that was recognized in our pre-closing walk through and she alleges it will/can not be addressed. There are multiple obvious (visual or sound) issues that she makes what I feel are canned/standard answers that she feeds everyone. This is based on conversations with any neighbors that have the same representative and also have nothing positive to say. The running joke around the neighborhood is she says no to everything! Thankfully the construction dept (Mac Thompson) has been great to work with. He was sent by Steve (construction mgr) and acknowledged there was definitely a noise in our basement powder and that he could even feel the vibration on the wall. Our warranty rep said she heard nothing in there. I would think that she should have good hearing and eyesight to complete this role and maybe she is in the wrong role. Then when something isn't covered, there is no communication. Just an email stating that all items reviewed in our meeting have been addressed. When I asked about the rest, she said they're not covered. She also said a light couldn't be moved that was clearly off center. She alleged it was centered and the sink faucet was off center. The electrician walked into the bathroom and said "that's not centered". Which make me question her integrity and/or skills as every issue she doesn't see or hear is cleary seen/heard by others. It would also seems from an efficiency perspective for Classic that it isn't the best use of the construction teams time to have them come in when warranty should be addressing items. OBVIOUS items - like upper floor windows with deep scratches on the exterior. I guess shame on me for not going from floor to ceiling and climbing on my roof in the approx 1 hour I had to walk my house prior to my closing or bringing in a third party vendor, which I considered but felt Classic would do the right thing. Which - Classic has or is working on addressing these items but again, via your construction dept, not warranty/cust svce. I also sent an additional warranty item and she replied with a short comment stating that it would be addressed at an upcoming appt. When she came out, she admitted she hadn't even read it!

The buying process was smooth. The building process could have gone better because nearly every change order was done wrong the first time and had to be torn out and redone. It would have been nice if the CHANGE ORDERS WERE READ THE FIRST TIME. This was very frustrating. Some of the subs used on construction of our home were questionable tradesmen. Stucco was a disaster and had to be redone in several areas due to flaking off, and the deck is sagging due to the use of wet wood that warped and has now caused major sagging (to be repaired soon, we hope). Classic warranty service has been very good, but I just wish we didn't have to have warranty work done. We have also had two cracked windows due to settling (I'm told).

Warranty rep has not resolved my cracked front porch. It was patched during original pour. The crack is on the edge of the porch and will eventually spall off due to winter freeze/thaw. I requested that a VP level person contact me to resolve though that has not happened.

Not much. Still having electrical problems. Apparently it is not a big concern on Classics end. I own my own business and have my wife working from home and as of today 6/6/20 we have no power in the office. Was told to fill out a service request, that it is a inconvenience and not a emergency. I wonder if the model home that Jeff and Teresa work in had no power if it would be a emergency or just a inconvenience.

We really enjoyed the interaction we had with Jeff and Teresa in the sales office. Also, we had a great experience with Cheryl from the design center, John and Tom were both great in the field answering questions. The most disappointing part and really embarrassing part for Classic should be the trades and lack of professional quality workmanship. For the price we paid, the level of quality, follow up and workmanship was/is terrible.

Great communication between the builder and our family. We always knew where we were in the building process. I cannot image the communication being any better, from the sales force, Classic Administration Personnel, and the on-site Building Supervisor, Doug. Slightly disappointed in the Design Center contact. She at times seemed controlling, had her process and not want to deviate from it. As the buyer, spending $20,000 in improvements, I thought I should have been treated better.

As I went through the building process, I would give my coworkers updates on my house. They would often comment how they had problems at the stage I was at and would say they wished they had had my builder for their home. I didn't know any different, but they knew Classic was above and beyond better than theirs.
