Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers
Eureka, on Oct 06, 2024
The salesman, construction manager all walked me through and answered all questions professionally and thoroughly. The quality of the building materials, structure etc. were excellent. The finishing touches and design choices were very nice. My only issue was that the grader buried gravel and a few boards in my yard which I only discovered when I was landscaping.

Everyone communicated very well with us throughout the entire process

My family and I had a great experience working with Consort Homes! In what could be a stressful time with all the deadlines and decisions, they made it comfortable and easy. I would recommend Consort Homes to anyone looking to buy a new build with great quality!
Eureka, MO, on Sep 30, 2024
I was generally very satisfied with the majority of the buying and building process with Consort Homes. However, there was one significant miscommunication regarding our walk-out property. We were not informed that there would be no access from the main floor to the outside, which is a major functional issue for the home. Given the rising costs of decks, this is an important detail that should be clearly communicated during the process. Not having access from the back door of the main floor is a major hindrance to the home's functionality, and it’s now an out-of-pocket expense that could have been included in the mortgage.

Last warranty submission was never taken care of and just brushed off. Haven't been contacted yet to set up my 11 month.

The communication was very poor. Craftsmanship of fit and finish was lacking.
Eureka, on Aug 28, 2023
Sometimes it can take a little bit to get a job complete. We had two holes in our wall by the toilet paper holder. The dry waller came out right away, but the guy that came out to paint took quite a bit of time. I almost forgot we still needed it done. Other than that, the team has been prompt to get me an appointment for anything I need and is very helpful.
Eureka, on Sep 05, 2023
Not enough attention paid to quality, I would not build again or recommend a consort home
Eureka, on Jun 10, 2023
Still waiting on items to be fixed or scheduled from last warranty request.

Loved how they always communicated with us. [name removed] is amazing! We can tell everyone involved takes pride in their work and it shows. We have zero complaints about anything related to our new home.
Eureka, MO, on Apr 03, 2024
I'd first like to say that even though there were a few discrepancies; we are satisfied with buying our house. The discrepancies are listed below: (1) My partner made it very clear that we wanted a flat backyard and we were reassured that we would have that yet our back yard is slopped. (2) My partner emphasis that she wanted the island that was on display in the model and we were told that this was the standard island in the home however it wasn't. (3) We ordered a certain color of kitchen cabinets yet a different color was installed. The builder however corrected this by installing a back splash which we actually love. (4) We had issues with the sound room in which they wanted to charge me for wiring however I don't understand why the sound room didn't complete their work prior if not on the same day of move in. This particular issue caused issues as it prevented my partner from working as she had connectivity issues. The sound room blamed AT&T yet had the sound room installed what I purchased; there would have never been any issues. We absolutely loved working with the builder. The discrepancies we had identified were fixed on the spot if not scheduled and fixed in a timely manner. The discrepancies identified was our foyer floor giving way, the fireplace mantel, cracked fireplace stone, cracked bathroom counter and front window shutters. Again... The builder ([name removed]) was amazing and he truly made our experience really good.
Eureka, on Jan 12, 2023
I liked the different floor plans and design choices. They are more modern than other builders.
Eureka, MO, on Jan 07, 2024
The salesman, [name removed], was always patient with me as a single buyer who hadn’t purchased a new home in 40 years! He answered millions of questions with gentlemanly professionalism and always kept me informed of all options and developments. He truly facilitated the entire process in an enjoyable manner. [name removed], the construction manager was equally as helpful, instructive and gentlemanly! He always kept me up to date and taught me about the technical features of my home and also calmly answered all of my questions. Both of these men are an asset to this company. I worked very briefly with [name removed] at the end before closing. She was also very knowledgeable and accommodating and extremely personable. Consort has a great team at this Eureka location!
Eureka, on Nov 01, 2021
Smooth, quick purchase and closing. No surprises even with Covid restrictions in place
Eureka, on Mar 21, 2023
Haven't fixed items I put in request to fix during final walk through. Haven't fixed items I requested with warranty request. Will submit warranty request on items for 3rd time.
Eureka, MO, on Oct 10, 2023
I found the change in the projected closing date to be quite frustrating, as it created significant disruptions in our logistics and budget planning. Dealing with issues like breaking leases and coordinating moving schedules became much more challenging due to this unexpected alteration. Moreover, I was disappointed with the quality of some of the finishes in the project, particularly the paint used. It was underwhelming and did not meet the standard I had anticipated. This aspect of the project left me somewhat dissatisfied.
Eureka, on Oct 13, 2021
The deck boards creek when walked on and Consort refuses to fix and was told that the minimal requirements were used instead of exceeding them to provide a quality product. The fireplace was not what was advertised and does nothing but make noise instead of warming the room. Nobody told us that it was a builder grade fireplace and didn't offer an upgrade.

We have not got to enjoy our home because we still dealing with the following Walls were framed crooked, drywall and trim were removed back in January to correct some of this We are still waiting to have our home put back together. Walls are still crooked with no plan on how to correct [name removed] all over in painting, the painters said there sprayers must have been dirty, but they have not corrected our paint yet. Replacement molding for front porch has been delivered and sitting there since November 10th waiting on someone that can install them correctly Pantry handles are two different colors and crooked Toe kick in kitchen is falling off Still don’t have a door knob on the basement door etc…. There’s more items to list Please contact me for more details 314-295-8050 I don’t see anything close to the quality work I was promised
Eureka, on Aug 14, 2021
Over all we are very satisfied. Two comments: 1. The Sound Room has a high end reputation in St [name removed] and while always pleasant I didn’t feel one visit connected fully to the previous. Was not satisfied with the adjustment of the surround sound. Probably could have worked with them on this but I chose to work either another group. 2. I enjoy landscaping and chose to install some features myself. I have to assume some responsibility here but the sprinkler system was installed before I had an opportunity to discuss line location with the crew. Professional Irrigation Systems was very pleasant to work with after the fact.
Eureka, on Jan 19, 2023
It’s been great! The few items we’ve notice that needed fixed were handled promptly and effectively.
Eureka, MO, on Apr 23, 2023
The whole process was very pleasant. Working with our project manager [name removed] was probably the most enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable, had great communication throughout the whole process, and anything that we wanted fixed he was on it. The only thing I would like is having more than just one design studio appointment. [name removed] was great, it was so much to go through in one day. I would have liked to have had a review meeting with all our selections pulled out to make sure it was what we wanted. All in all great experience!! We loved the small team feel and everyone we worked with was very nice and attentive.

There are some finishing details that look less quality than I believe Consort Homes upholds too
Eureka, on Aug 04, 2022
There is not a lot to like about the warranty experience. Once Consort switched from house builder to warranty service, it seems we have been dealing with 2 separate companies. House builder phase was great, they were still earning our business. Warranty and customer care feels like we are an after thought and Consort is stretching out their responsibilities till the 12 months passes and their obligation to us goes away. It's been over promise and under delivered. I have many instances of the warranty team telling my concerns of issues with my house were done because of code, yet I see the same thing in other houses where the same issue was done correctly.
Eureka, MO, on Sep 26, 2022
The consort team was amazing. [name removed] was phenomenal to work with and was honest and upfront with things. If there was an issue he fixed it and truly one of the best! [name removed] and [name removed] were great and we enjoyed our meetings and assisting us from the get go.
Eureka, on Jul 23, 2022
The warranty process lacks the appropriate level of transparency required to keep customers updated with current status on claims. I have submitted several claims, some of which I've received work orders for and the work was completed. In these instances, the customer service provided by those sent to our home has consistently been excellent. There are several other warranty claims I've submitted where no action has been taken to resolve the issue for several months and I haven't been able to get any updates, even after submitting a warranty claim asking for updates on 11 previous warranty claims (a few of which were submitted a second time due to no updates or resolution). The weekly update calls during the build were great and something similar to discuss the status of warranty claims would be very beneficial for your customers with multiple claims. Due to lack of responsiveness using the warranty claim process, I stopped in the office to see if [name removed] or [name removed] had and information and they shared they do not have access to that system, so giving your sales reps access to see these claims would also be helpful.
Eureka, MO, on Aug 30, 2022
I feel like we were unaware of potentials…deck options ( we didn’t even know we had a deck lot until I saw it in the paper work ).
Eureka, on Jul 08, 2022
The follow up process is lacking heavily in communication and can be greatly improved for better satisfaction and understanding. I would strongly recommend have a 3 phase walk through process. One at closing when the home is finished to catch anything to be fixed. Another walk through around the 6 month mark to address items/issues that either weren't noticed the first time or developed since the previous walk through, and then again at the 11 month mark to confirm all repairs have been completed and allow a a few weeks to get any last minute items addressed.
Eureka, MO, on Aug 19, 2022
Mainly small things. For ex we did our walkthrough in June 23 and determined we had the wrong kitchen faucet. It’s now August 18 and we still have not received the correct faucet.
Eureka, MO, on May 15, 2022
Communication was great. Follow though could use some improvement with regards to the project superintendent

[name removed] time building abs had a great experience from start to finish. Love our new home!
Eureka, on May 20, 2022
Warranty has been decent, customer service has been decent. Except for the fact that there’s a hole in my master bathroom floor than no one has contacted me about.
Eureka, MO, on Apr 21, 2022
I like the quality of the build, the usual responsiveness from sales and field, and the location. In retrospect I should have taken more time with the options. I did not get some of the information that would have been helpful in making final decisions. I love my home but there are things i would have changed had I known the options. I am unhappy with the state of my “yard” I understand no one can control weather but the yard is in worse shape that current homes under construction with trash and large pieces of lumber. I hope that does not just get buried when they do the finish grading. There were several little things I have noticed since living here that I should have seen at walkthrough but nothing has been done to fix those items yet. But overall I love my home and the Consort experience has been great.
Eureka, on May 16, 2022
Takes too long to address warranty issues. Our biggest issue has been the grading of the back yard. The back yard was graded in a manner that indicates poor/rushed work. I am still in the process of getting this acknowledged and fixed which has been tedious and continues to drag on. Until the backyard is fixed we can’t get a swing-set for the kids, build a fence, plant trees, or begin patio work. All of which we would have liked to start as soon as possible.
Eureka, MO, on Apr 12, 2022
The options for our home were much better than other Missouri homebuilders. You can tell a Consort home from other builders just from the curb appeal. That is how we originally fell in love with Consort/ our house. We love all the options for upgrades/ customizations. We appreciated the weekly calls from our superintendent. The sales office can be hard to get ahold of and is not quick to answering emails. We closed a month ago and are still missing items for our house.
Eureka, on May 03, 2022
At this time we are still waiting on a fireplace trim piece that was damaged prior to closing. We were told that the fireplace representative would be in touch. We have not heard a peep. The piece we have does not fit correctly. We also are having a major issue with out concrete. This has just been submitted, but needless to say this is another headache that is not needed.. Hopefully Consort will do the right thing and get this fixed.
Eureka, on Feb 26, 2022
I always have to follow-up after placing a warranty claim to get someone to look at once the request is processed. Customer care seems fine, it's once it gets to the subdivision. The tickets given to the various contractors are very vague and often incomplete compared to what is discussed. Some items have been requested multiple times and still haven't been addressed.
Eureka, MO, on Mar 19, 2022
I really liked the staff. [name removed] was the sales rep we work with primarily and he was always very nice and tried to go above and beyond whenever possible. I'm pretty sure he ruined a suit just to make sure we understood where the property lines on our lot were at. The only dislike I had prior to move in was in regards to our master shower. I mentioned early on when it was only framed that the shower walls were not square and we would want to get those corrected before we started tile. This didn't get fixed before the tile went on, requiring the tile and drywall to have to be partially removed to straighten out the wall. Our drywall still needs to be fixed on this wall all because the issue wasn't addressed and corrected early on when minimal work would have needed to be done to make it right the first time.

I enjoy landscaping and chose to install some features myself. I have to assume some responsibility here but the sprinkler system was installed before I had an opportunity to discuss line location with the crew. Professional Irrigation Systems was very pleasant to work with after the fact.

I feel like we weren’t aware of some of the options available.
