Poor communication after contract was signed. No one updated me about an appointment for the design center UNTIL I emailed multiple different people. The salesperson assured me that we would be able to have electrical outlets in the floor and I could choose the placement at the design center. Design center then tells me it's too late plans have already been submitted. Mind you it was 6 months from the time I spoke with that salesperson and had a meeting with the design center. During those 6 months NO ONE reached out to me to ask about outlets or that final plans were being submitted. We were also told we HAD to choose a window color MONTHS before going to the design center only for the windows not to be ordered until after the meeting and it delayed our home. We were also assured at the design center and prior to signing the contract we would have regular updates from our builder only to be told from the salesperson "we no longer do that because the builders are busy". No one communicated that to us and we had to basically demand that the builder meets with us, which he was happy to do. In fact he mentioned that he enjoyed meeting with the buyers. The communication prior to signing the contract was constant. The communication AFTER signing the contract was non existent unless you emailed and called managers. If given another option I can't be sure I would build with Ideal or refer anyone to them. Understandably Ideal is busy but there is no excuse not to send a short email explaining that plans are going to be submitted soon and here are the list of things that have to be decided upon soon. [name removed] only that, spec homes are obviously given the priority while homes with buyers are delayed.

Ideal homes was easy to deal with and they followed through on all the last minute adjustments that needed to be made. They even checked in with me after I moved to make sure everything was alright.

No communication with the builder the whole experience. We never had any real expectations of what was going on our time frames. We felt like we were one of the first few people to buy but our house was one of the last ones to be completed. We did not enjoy feeling like we were in the dark the majority of the process. Our home was super filthy when we moved in. Still finding splatter spots on the floors, base boards are filthy, grout lines not cleaned up.

The initial move in was a bit rocky due to the house not being ready on the closing date. We identified certain things shortly after move in that were not completed (weight/balancing of fan, sealing of hard wood floors, etc) but customer service was great and made it all bearable.

House fells like it was built to just meet minimum requirements. We did not find anything outstanding about it. Even minor change requests were not accommodated.

When I've gotten someone to pick up the line, things are generally pretty responsive. I've disliked repeated issues with Ideal contractors building near our home.

The home is good quality. We had some delays on the build, but the builder stayed on top of it and got everything finished.

We absolutely loved our builder. He was amazing at communication and making sure all our concerns were heard and addressed. We had some initial frustration with the sales team due to communication issues but after we expressed this frustration we were able to speak with a manager and it was addressed through switching to a different sales member who was amazing. We also had some stress and frustration with the in house lender. However, we love our floor plan, the location or our home, and truly [name removed], our builder, was the absolute best part of the experience.

The purchase experience was rather seamless given the fact my husband and I were both stationed overseas and did most of the process sight unseen. We had a fantastic realtor ([name removed]) and IdealHomes representative working with us ([name removed]). They were prompt with 2-3 week house updates, including pictures and even video walkthrough as it got closer to move-in. However, we were notified approximately 60 days out from our original closing date that the house was 30 days ahead of schedule. This led to us scrambling to lock in a mortgage loan rate ASAP, whereas if we knew 90 days out from our original close date that we could close 30 days earlier, we could've locked in a significantly better rate. Additionally, upon move in, the house had not been cleaned yet and there were numerous items that had not been completed or fixed post inspection. We were to stay out of our home until the cleaners came through, which took three prompts with the builder liaison as the time they were supposed to come through kept changing. This would not have been as much of an issue if it weren't for the fact we had checked out of our temporary lodging and had our pets with us the whole day waiting for the house to be ready, despite us having our keys. I will say, as far as the unfinished fixes (drainage pipes missing, unburied cables in the backyard, broken fence) and remaining items (no shower door in master bathroom, microwave trim kit), [name removed] was a pleasure to work with and was responsive and flexible with us. Overall, we do love our home.

There was a miscommunication from design to build with our shower. We wanted a walk in shower with no door. Those plans were made but then our builders plans didn’t have the half wall. [name removed] put in a frameless door for us though so we are happy but it isn’t want we originally wanted. We also never got our decorative garage door hinges/handles ordered so we are still waiting for those. We did have some plumbing issues but [name removed] with customer care was quick to get that fixed so we are very happy with that.

[name removed] was to have been cleaned prior to move-in, but home was not. Seemed cleaners only vacuumed some of the carpets and neglected the rest of the house. Ideal was great is calling the cleaner back to the home to clean but cleaner barely completed his duties then stated he had to leave and left without completion.
