Communication is good

Communication. I was constantly confused, annoyed, and frustrated at the lack of communication between departments, with my issues and getting to a solution for the problems that arose in my new home. Departments would be complicated when it came to reaching and understanding about issues. Whenever I got an answer to my problems and a worker would come to fix the issue. Almost always the person coming over had no idea or was either confused about the purpose for their visit. I would explain the issue like it was the first time hearing it. Accountability then became a bigger issue because the fault would always be someone else. [name removed]……. The person in charge of warranty was specifically difficult to deal with. He gave us an attitude of don’t’ t bother me constantly until I got angry and serious with him. He immediately blamed anyone else because it was not related to him even though he is in charge of warranty. He truly was the worst part of buying a home with [name removed]. Buying a home is the biggest purchase of our lives. Warranty is supposed to give you relieve from stress and anxiety. He did the opposite.

As part as an option in our home, we selected for the HGTV shower system. The system has no knobs in our master shower. It is controlled by a unit on the wall and inside of our closet. There is a control unit which has hot and cold knobs and the water heating is there. The unit requires the control panel to be online and paired with the home smart system. What they do not tell you is that this unit is on a 2G system and most homes nowadays including hours is on mostly 5G. From day one, we have been unable to pair this unit to our Internet system in our home And if the system is not online, it will go down it does that on a weekly and biweekly basis which causes you to have to go into the control panel and restart the unit. We have also lost power to our unit where it has gone bad and that has had to be replaced, however we still cannot get this online. We have contacted [name removed] several times and have been on the phone with them have gone through various different options and still cannot get the unit online. To us this was a big waste of money about $2500 as an option that cannot work and as we reach out to other folks asking about the unit we find that they are having a similar issue. At some point in time, we will have to have this unit removed and have actual knobs put into our Master Shower so that we have the convenience of walking in at any time and turning the shower on and off and not have to worry about the unit being down and us having to restart it every single time we want to use it. If we would’ve known the issues with this unit or with this option, we would have never selected it at the time that we were buying our home. The actual unit in the model is different than the one that was put in our house and we were told that it was better. Or easier to use, which is not the case. The warranty company has been very good about coming out looking at issues that we have had when we have lost power and rep replacing the main heating control panel for this that is great however because we cannot get it online, we run the risk of this happening again at which time this will be out of warranty and will be a cost to us on top of the fact that the item has never worked properly from the date we have moved into our home. This is the most disappointing thing about our home that we have had to deal with. Also, due to the weeping holes around the perimeter of our second floor being covered up and painted over we have had a leak in our home when it has rain. Worst leak was during the hurricane where we had water, literally running down the walls in our garage in our garage stayed the concrete wall in our garage or block wall in our garage was wet for a week and a half to almost 2 weeks after the hurricane. The warranty team was very good about coming out taking a look at it and going ahead and replacing it or fixing it. We have not had any issues since however we have not had a serious rainstorm . Also, you would think for a house that is over $550,000. There would be some better finishes in the home the cabinets at the bottom do not have finished molding strips on the bottom of them at the front but they are on the side and we were told that that is just the way it would be, which is. She’s unacceptable but what are you gonna do? They’re not going to do anything about it at that time at this time.

They are not easy to reach for a warranty claim and they do not make the process easy. Communication is a big problem. There is no care or consideration for the customer. They treat you as something they have to deal with.

On your first walk through they try to push things off saying they will be back in 6 months for your 2nd walk through/warranty work. At 6 months they tell you it was never 6 months that it was always 12 months and they try to make you feel stupid. We didn't appreciate that. Our 12 months expired 2 weeks ago but they just completed 2 houses in the back and one on each side of us, which is creating severe puddling on the sides of our home. We've sent some pictures and videos and now can't even get a reply back. Now we will have to start sending emails and photos to the big wigs in an attempt to get things fixed. Also we've had Del Air out to our home 5 times to help with our bedroom not getting cool enough. Either they don't show up or the new person takes out what the last person did, neither helping our situation. Come to find out they do not have either of our phone numbers in their system and no notes on what any technician has done to try to elevate the problem. which has not been fixed. Very frustrating!! I would never recommend Del Air even though they are around the corner.

This device elimates the need for shower knobs and everything is controled by a touch panel, I thought it would be fun feature. It has turned out to me a $2000.00 mistake. We were told it was our internet provider or the router had all that check and still will not connect. If the device is not connected it automatically shuts off and you have to reboot the device from the master panel which is located in our closet. The device shuts down once a week so for the convivence we leave the panel door off so we can unplug the device so it can reboot and we can shower. We have gone so far as to not use our master shower for a week because of this. We have spent 4 hours over multiple calls with [name removed] to be walked through getting it online and nothing. At this point we are about have the device removed and have shower knobs put in. I keep being told it's not a warranty issue it's a internet issue, my entire home has smart devices everywhere and none have this issue. Also the shower door and the glass shower wall are not the same height so it looks as if the door was hung too low.

The home is nice. I’m not particularly pleased with the studs on the exterior walls not being 2x4’s. The small 3/4” boards make adding receptacles or boxes difficult. Also the electrical boxes in the ceiling needed to be reinforced to install ceiling fans.

Moving from out of state, we anticipated some challenges, and our experience with [name removed] Homes has been a mix of highs and lows. The initial process went smoothly, with our realtors handling walkthroughs and identifying necessary fixes. The builder assured us everything would be completed before our arrival. However, after driving over 15 hours and arriving at 1:30 AM, we were shocked to find that our key didn’t work, forcing us to stay in a hotel for the night. The next morning, [name removed] quickly resolved the issue, but upon entering our home, we discovered it was not move-in ready—there was noticeable mess and unfinished work. Fortunately, [name removed] reimbursed us and immediately took action, arranging for cleaners the following morning and scheduling painters and drywall specialists to fix the outstanding work. While we’ve encountered some frustrating setbacks, we truly appreciate [name removed]’s responsiveness. They have been proactive in addressing issues, and their commitment to customer satisfaction has helped alleviate the stress of the situation. Overall, despite the initial challenges, we’re pleased with how [name removed] has handled them and look forward to fully settling into our new home.

I heard over and over again that all of the outstanding issues would be fixed after moving in, however, after signing and getting the keys, they literally don’t care at all. You guys are making this a terrible experience for no reason at all. There are so many bad reviews about this exact issue post purchase and I see why. You’re hurting your company’s brand over very small and basic things because of the communication.

We had a change in our sales person, there was a lack of communication throughout the entire building process. Our permits took over 5 months to be issued then we were pushed for a December closing while being away. Now we are back and the house is incomplete, it was clearly a rushed job and we have a list of issues that have yet to be resolved, even though it was brought to [name removed]’s attention over a week now. We have holes under our hvac and in ceiling where vents are supposed to be placed, there was no hot water for days, we paid for a split hvac and still only have one thermostat. It was such a dissatisfied closing and we spent so much money on a house that we have a list of items to be resolved. We bought other new construction in Florida and it was a much much better experience. Did i mention we still don’t have a mailbox key or access to our amenity center and it’s been a month since we closed? How is that possible or makes sense?!

Everything from buying the home to moving in was so easy. Everyone involved worked with us and made sure everything was perfect for us.

The home is nice. I’m not particularly pleased with the studs on the exterior walls not being 2x4’s. The small 3/4” boards make adding receptacles or boxes difficult. Also the electrical boxes in the ceiling needed to be reinforced to install ceiling fans.

[name removed] was fantastic about keeping us updated and he paid attention to detail. Everyone was pleasant to work with and very accommodating. Only dislike was that, because the home was built during the ‘surge’ some of the craftsmanship looked noticeably rushed but overall we are very pleased.

We loved our process of building our [name removed] and also having LandSea stand by their products. They have amazing people who work within the company that make your experience delightful.
