No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. Quality of the house is sub par at best, for a new construction house there were alot of issues and the answers where either it's supposed to be like that or we'll we don't cover that it's just ascetic. Was talked to like I was clueless when I brought up issues that the house had. Fixes for the home where very lazy and "half assed" just to say "we fixed it" Overall the house seemed to have poor craftsmanship.

The sales process was difficult to navigate through. For most of my journey of purchasing the home, I didn't have a sales representative. And so construction updates, questions regarding closing times, and all the other correspondence that naturally arises between buyer and seller was very strained and difficult to get answers to. The financial aspect with my loan officer, Renee was a breeze, as she was very communicative. My construction manager, Lindsey, has been a pleasure to work with and she's been very communicative. It was just the sales process where I fell through the cracks.

Let's be really clear here. Your sales rep hindered the entire process. He was unresponsive, unknowledgeable and only active when I stepped in to get the regional on the line. He couldn't get basic addendums done for our names NOR could he figure out how to use docusign. It was pathetic. Then I'm the quarterback trying to make the deal happen while your title company were sitting on their hands. It was pathetic and I shouldn't have had to deal with that for my THIRD CENTURY HOUSE in three years.

I moved into a home without all appliances that were supposed to be there by close and had no answer about them for a couple of weeks. Communication in my area is rough due to the people who run my area stepped up for somebody who I guess was fired so they are picking up slack and still trying to operate in their own area so I commend the staff but communication all around seems to need work, and the builders rules in terms of inspections and other little things differ from other builders it seems sketchy at first and as a first time home buyer I learned a lot from the methods used and methods other builders use when trying to convince a buyer to close.

There wasn’t enough communication. I had to find out about first and final walk throughs after it was already scheduled. And my closing date kept changing. Other than that it was fine

Alex White was by far the best and most professional loan officer I have ever worked with. Always on top of things and always responsive. I truly believe that if I had a different loan officer I would still be waiting to close.

Overall things have been good with the process. The only downside was that the notary wasn’t able to meet us at our new home for the final signing, which would’ve saved us a two-hour drive. A few items also weren’t fixed by the time we closed/moved in, which was a little frustrating. But aside from those things, the experience has been positive.
