Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

Liked the communication. Very helpful. Dislike, we have yet to have our blinds installed and received the incorrect refrigerator twice and we still don’t have the correct one.

Working with [name removed], the Superintendent is great! He's very responsive, timely & keeps his commitments. He's proven that his word is good - he is reliable! The 1 item is rated less than 10 in overall experience had nothing to do with [name removed] - it had to do with the administrative staff. 2 issues. 1) The MLS, Zillow & other similar social media listings claimed granite countertops throughout. The house has quartz, not granite. I pointed this out & i was told that Century Complete stopped installing granite in June 2025 & that clients prefer quartz. I reiterated that all listings claimed granite not quartz. The Century Complete woman said she can't control Zillow & the others. I reiterated that the MLS listing claimed granite too & that listing is controlled by Century Complete. I believe this is misrepresentation by Century Complete, perhaps unintentional. I felt like the response I got from her was, "well, too bad." 2) Early on Century Complete said they now include all appliances in the sale including refrigerator, washer & dryer. So an addendum was issued & signed by all that included model numbers of the appliances. Then Century Complete changed the refrigerator model. I said that we had to issue another addendum to the contract with the refrigerator change - that the items named in the addendum would be installed but the refrigerator swapped out for another model later. Century Complete told me it's unnecessary. For me, these 2 administrative items are contract-related & Century Complete's attitude was casual & unbefitting for contractual issues. Please note, I opted to keep the originally installed refrigerator & Century Complete canceled the swap - which is fine for me. I feel Century Complete doesn't treat all of its contractual issues with the necessary serious level.

See my prior notes. Alot of miscommunication form the beginning with escrow. No prompts that closing documents are available to be viewed. Caused a lot of frustration. Ericka was short with us and not helpful. Moved into a house that wasn't complete. Appliances were missing. We lost food. We now have them thanks to Pete. When reporting a ticket for a problem the site isn't consistent or it does get sent.

What I dislike is the craftsmanship of one Shaker cabinet. It was broken. It however was repaired a week after i moved in.

As a first-time homeowner, I loved that anytime I had a question (no matter how small) there was an immediate response. Every person that I interacted with was friendly, professional, and gave me confidence that I was making the right choice.

The house had some serious issues which the agent from century that I currently work with was obviously aware of but has previously been reluctant to fix since I bought this house as an investment and I guess she assumed I would not find out about them. She constantly ignores my questions and only selectively gets back to me and responds. So both house delivery quality and agent quality have been very questionable.

The only thing I had to deal with was the flooding that came from my washer, it was installed great but the corridor where water gets drained into sewer was clogged by builders throwing debris down the pipe corridor

I loved the speed at which everything went. I didn’t always know who to call or who would be contacting us, though. Everything ended up fine, but some of our questions were answered with “someone will get in touch with you.” They did, so that was fine, but part of the reason I let it all be was because I was so busy with life and work I just didn’t have time to press for more details. It would have been nice to have been given a binder or folder of some kind with all of the contact information for our team. We also discovered when we were almost at closing that there was no garbage disposal in the home. If I had realized that, I would have asked for one to be installed prior to closing. It never occurred to me that there might not be one. However, I do appreciate the team working with us and giving us the appliance package, as well as landscaping the backyard. That is very much appreciated and it made the sale.
