Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:...read more

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. The process/ communication with Century community was terrible. There was so much turnover of the company employees making it difficult to get updates. Initially, we were not informed that we could put a deposit on a house to hold it, so we almost missed out on purchasing in our area. Once we were finally able to to a walk through, the process was better. [name removed] and [name removed] were fantastic once we met them.

Delays weren't the worst it was the incompleteness of the home and the unreliability of Century Complete employees and no contractors contact lists to say the least let alone having to finish the home myself if I want things right.

There was no transparency in the building timeline. I understand and understood the challenges around supply chain, but we were told “just a couple more weeks,” several times when it was clearly months away from completion. When we asked for updates we rarely received a response, and there was an indifferent attitude from all century personnel when timelines weren’t hit. We were informed to continue watering our grass at a cadence of 4 times per day for the month immediately following closing and that Century was going to pay the water bill (and all other utilities that month). That did not happen, and I’m being asked to pay. $500+ water bill that I was told I wasn’t responsible for. And I’ve been charged and paid all other utilities for the month immediately following closing as well. [name removed] only the dishonesty (or lack of following through to this point) on the water bill, but I have various sections of grass that are completely dead. I have so much more feedback about the experience in the case that anyone cares to listen and reconcile our dissatisfaction.

The entire process was a joke from beginning to now. I would never recommend buying from your company. There are so many things I have a warranty claim in on & have not even got a response back. The company literally let go the selling agent & project manager the day of our closing, which says a lot. The construction itself is cheaply made & the absolute bare minimum. We were told the backyard was seeded. A lawn care professional came out & said it was not. I’ve submitted warranty claims like I’ve been told with no follow-up from anyone. The selling agent was extremely unprofessional during the buying process, asked for information she was not entitled to, had to get ahold of, and messed up on the paperwork many times.

Lack of communication, transparency, failure to meet deadlines, and worst of all poor quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Terrible communication. Broken promises. Would never recommend anyone to purchase from Century Complete. Now that I already closed, [name removed] and [name removed] will not respond to me or complete what we agreed to during the final walk through.

House is good quality. Only complaints come from the overall communication and experience. We do enjoy our new home.

The century realtor didnt seem very impressive. There are several quality and material issues. The floor is peeling, there are electrical issues, there is a broken window. The fridgerator water lines weren't installed or drilled or even near the fridge. There are several issues and this is only our first week here.

Realtor and not having the home cleaned prior to closing plus things that needed to be fixed and on the list were not fixed. Honestly worst realtor experience I have ever had.

The house never was completed as promised by the builder that did the walk through. The windows were left uncaucted. Several doors missing screws in the hinges. A number of spots were left in painted. Siding is cracked and supposed to be replaced. Water shut off cemented in the ground. Water company unable to turn on or off water. Waste line has a large belly. Terrible house. Would have been better off buying an already used home.

[Translated from ES] In my current situation, it is difficult for me to give a positive opinion about my buying process, I feel that they have only been interested in getting rid of the houses they build and have not worried about how customers feel when they start living the house.
