We enjoyed the whole experience from design selections to closing ! It was a goal of ours to live in a Newcastle Home !
Helena, on Dec 24, 2025
Everything we so smoothly from or design selections to closing. We are so happy with our experience with Newcastle homes !!
Helena, on Jan 02, 2026
Two topics that has not make me feel completely satisfied with Newcastle. First topic, noisy air vent. One of your contractors came about a month ago to replace the vent from the master bedroom, he noticed same condition from the living room area, he said he will order them and replace but never came back. This is now replaced and have no further issues with this. The second issue involved plumbing. Last Wednesday (12/03) we noticed that the toilet from the master bathroom was not flushing; tried a plunger and it did not unclog it. Left it like that with the plan that for the following morning I would have more time and deal with this. We did not used that toilet at all since then. That night I took a shower at the master bathroom and was weird since you could hear like something was filling out (later I learned the whole pipe was getting filled). In the morning, drainage smell started to be noticeable, used the plunger again and still not flushing. Left for work and around midmorning my wife flushed the toilet (just water) and it worked normal. Later that afternoon she put a washer load, and everything was working normal. About 7pm I went back home, my wife was also out and when opened the master bedroom the drainage smell was really intense, and we opened the bathroom door found out that the drainage came back and overflowed into the shower and the tub (have pictures, which I am not including here but available if needed). First thing I did was to try to get help, I know [name removed] lives in the community, I went and knock her door and she direct me to [name removed] who was the person who handed the home to us almost a year ago. Jesses asked me to confirm the condition of the septic pump/panel and that we should have an alarm running since it was clogged. Nor the alarm or the red-light indicator were on at that moment, and no alarm was noticeable whatsoever. [name removed] then told us that he was calling the plumbing company, and if there was something that they did due to the construction aside our home might cause the clog, that NewCastle will take care of the charges, but if there was something that my family did to clog the system, then we would need to pay for the service. Next day plumbers arrived, performed different checks, and as you can read, they found nothing clogging the pipes. At the end they asked me to cover for their service. I have decided to send you this email since we have been really responsible with our home, normal use of the toilet and normal toilet paper disposal and I cannot accept that this was the cause of clogging and overflowing the system like it did. Plumbers ran the camera through the pipelines, nothing detected to be the cause of the clog. To be clear, what I am looking for is an statement from NewCastle to confirm that 1) there was no reason for the construction next door causing to obstruct drainage and clog my house, 2) confirm that the septic panel and alarm were properly set to alert and assist me as owner with the pipelines getting filled and obstruction was present and 3) that all the pipeline material used to build this home from drainage standpoint was to the quality expected along with proper level arrangements to let the drainage to flow properly. Otherwise, I respectfully request a reimbursement (charges attached) since I am completely sure me or my family did not dispose any type of liquid, paper or anything that is not responsibly safe for the environment to dispose through a toilet. We use normal and regular soap and shampoo that might not be the cause of any clogging, and we kept this small shower drain protector to catch hair coming into the drainage. We have never used the bathtub, ever, we have only cleaned it when needed, so we are sure nothing came through that drain. Washer is the same, we don’t have special cloth or anything that might cause a clog and we use the regular liquid soap for washing machine that we buy at Costco or [name removed]’s. Now, I would be paying for an annual plumbing check that this company offered, but having a brand-new home, makes me think something else happened than we (owners) really did not cause this situation. With this being said, I will be waiting for your response on replacing the air vents and the statement about the plumbing event. We also paid for external support to come and clean our bathroom completely ($150 USD), but that is on me at this point. Thanks,

We find the quality of the home very good but were disappointed with certain aspects of the contract negotiation process.

That my builder was always concerned that the home was being built properly and that I was satisfied with the home.
Helena, on Oct 09, 2025
Very friendly and helpful as a first time house buyer.
Helena, on Oct 19, 2025
Was supposed to paint front porch, did one coat and never came back. Driveway has cracks due to poor quality.
Helena, AL, on Apr 18, 2025
Newcastle did a great job in communicating with us throughout the build process. Our build was contingent on the sale of our old house, so we appreciated it when they were able to give us plenty of notice that our home would be finished ahead of schedule. They were open to our requests during the build and the final walk through and overall were very easy and pleasant to work with.
Helena, on Oct 07, 2025
It’s been a pleasant experience from the word go. Even through the stresses of selling/buying, everyone from ground up was very patient and helpful with us through every process. We would definitely recommend.
Helena, on May 09, 2025
I enjoyed the entire process. My biggest issue is my retaining wall. It was a challenge to get new castle to install it now it is starting to separate. Not sure if it was built in the most stable way and that is my biggest issue
Helena, AL, on Jan 21, 2025
It's been nothing but a great experience. Holly, Debbi, Rod and Jesse are now family??
Helena, on Jul 07, 2025
Purchasing process was smooth and our main contact Debbie Clarke was really helpful and supportive during the entire process.
Helena, AL, on Jan 08, 2025
At the walk thru we were told some items would be taken care of and they were not.
Helena, on Jul 03, 2025
Jesse and Brian were both wonderful. They deserve a raise with how good they’re doing.
Helena, AL, on Aug 18, 2024
FBC failed to stay in contact. Felt I had to reach out more than I should have. [name removed] and [name removed] were great to deal with. No complaints on that side of things
Helena, on Apr 11, 2025
Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable and communication throughout the home buying process was fantastic.

I didn’t like the very beginning which i have said in another review. Since then our floors have had issues and still are an issue they came and only fixed some pieces and messed up baseboards and the floor is still messed up.
Helena, on Oct 05, 2023
mostly the people involved have been very helpful and pleasant. As stated before, I just think they should have replaced dead bushes.
Helena, AL, on Aug 05, 2024
It was very easy - everyone was super nice and was there for us.
Helena, on Oct 17, 2024
There are still issues that need addressing but they are being handled.
Helena, on Sep 05, 2023
Any issues have been addressed effectively and efficiently.
Helena, AL, on Jul 08, 2024
Once you are in contract there can be no changes unless you want to be charged $500. Per change. So we obviously disliked that. We didn’t like that some of the other homes were allowed to have things that we weren’t- extra concrete for parking, outside lights, and also gutters that are different colors than the trim. These are just the examples we specifically asked about. Lastly, them not sodding all the way to our lines regardless of hill was a huge dislike. We really liked the communication from the agents and our builder!
Helena, on May 16, 2023
Don’t like getting approval on the plants you can use. Some people do whatever they want.
Helena, AL, on Jun 23, 2024
Easy process, great communication throughout the process

Builder, superintendent, and agents all stayed on top of everything. Design studio was a breeze and made choosing designs for our home fun! Deadlines were met and we love the friendships we have made.
Helena, on May 03, 2023
my shrubs in the front yard were killed by a freeze less than 2 weeks after I moved in and they were not covered in warranty and Newcastle refused to replace them. That is terrible customer service. When the grass in subdivision was first mowed, they mowed everything but my small segment around sidewalk and said they were not responsible for that. I did not have a clear idea what was my responsibility but it would not have killed the to mow it.Poor customer service. Also I find the HOA very restrictive and very slow to respond. My grass was in terrible condition this spring. The soil level is awful. Some of the finishing touches with cabinets , paint and molding in the house are not good quality. The building sites are not picked up and trash overflows in bins.
Helena, on Aug 18, 2021
Drainage continues to be an issue. No call back from warranty dept on this issue.
Helena, on Mar 17, 2020
Newcastle has been extremely responsive to my concerns regarding repairs during my year of warranty. I report concerns and they respond promptly via email and show up and make needed minor repairs. Wonderful!

i love the thoroughness of orientation to the features of the house.
Helena, AL, on Jun 08, 2020
The care and attention to detail that went into the build was superb.
Helena, AL, on May 01, 2020
Before COVID 19 quarantine, we were able to view 4 homes in the neighborhood despite the fact I was still interviewing for my job and not having our own agent at that point. Judy Baker sent me pictures of this actual home because we were out of state at the time. Still no agent at this time. I still haven’t officially gotten the job at this time. We found a different home which we ultimately decided against because it didn’t appraise well. We loved our house (this house) better- but this is a larger home than what we truly need. When we decided to turn down the other house, we took it as a sign and knew we should have gone with this- our first choice- to begin with. The neighborhood is nice. Neighbors are nice. I feel safe here. When we moved in, the knob in the mailbox was missing. Funny enough, my Nextdoor neighbor mentioned having a similar experience. I contacted Judy Baker and the home warranty office. Brian took care of it immediately. Overall I’m satisfied.
