Everyone was attentive and responsive. This is my 2nd NC home. Dealing with [name removed] and [name removed] on site was a pleasure. There were a few times it seemed like the Newcastle Corporate office didn’t have info they should. The biggest problem was offering an upgrade on The Bragg for a coveted&screened back porch to only realize the post would be in the living room window. This resulted with losing a full 8” on one side. [name removed] and another gentleman threw in concrete patio space to make up for it...but still was a build error from back in the plan stage in my opinion. That now every Bragg homeowner who spends $5000+ to upgrade has to just deal with.

We loved how quickly we received a response for any questions or concerns. Whenever we called (nights and weekends) [name removed] would answer the phone. Everything was handled in a timely manner. I do wish we could have had two final walk throughs instead of one. I wish the tips from [name removed] at closing could have been in a printed form or added to the Newcastle binder. He had so much helpful information for first time homeowners.

Like: Addressed concerns quickly; flexibility to offer a contract contingent on sale of prior home Dislikes: Have to make design decisions too quickly and not able to contemplate decisions (suggestion: give buyer all choices ahead to look at prior to design appt. and give buyer a short time , say 48 hours, to change decisions after design appt with no fee); mistakes made in building that were not in accordance with Plan/specs (most we had to point out) ; contractors allowed to trash the lot and home- personably observed leftover food and trash, beer cans, and workers with coolers of beer in their vehicles. Contractors did not clean up at end of day. Also, contractors messed each other’s work up- something would be installed and it would get damaged by someone else. We were asked to do a first walk through before material things were complete (ex: kitchen backsplash grout , MBA floor missing tiles) and the house was dirty.

We've only had to make one warranty call and it was handled well but the contractor took a long time to come back and fix the issue after initially evaluating it.

Overall, it was a good experience but there were a few things. The design process was too short. We had 3 hours to pick the entire house without any knowledge of the options beforehand. The designer was great but there needs to be more time to pick such important things. Also, there should be at least one change allowed free of charge considering the amount of time given to select everything. The landscaping has been a big let down so far. Parts of the grass were dead upon move in and one tree as well. Some sod has been replaced but it is still an ongoing process. The builder in charge of [name removed] [name removed] is amazing though. [name removed] is excellent at his job and is always willing to help past what is required. I can not say enough good things about him.

We liked the builder and the options of the home. The floor plan was good, the amendments we needed to make were good, and the walkthrough was good. We did not like the sales agent and the back and forth tactics that were used. Additionally, the fit and finish could be better, there seems to be rushed and sloppy trim work.
