[name removed] has been phenomenal since my first interaction with her. I enlisted the "help" of my own realtor after I already had the appointment with [name removed] set up. I literally never saw my realtor again until closing and her communication was minimal. [name removed] is just a gem and a wonderful person. She goes above and beyond - sending photos of progress and weekly check-ins while the house is being finished. I would absolutely reach out to her if I ever know anyone looking for a home - or, if for some reason I ever sell and need another home. She is my number 1 choice on who I'd call on for any future needs for a realtor. She is almost family now - and has met most of my family throughout the process. My sister is the one that basically referred to [name removed] as a "gem" and I find that quite fitting. [name removed] and [name removed]...so great!! My orientation walk with them was great. They walked me through the home and the features. They were honestly so much fun and I felt like I've known them forever. I have not felt that anyone involved in my whole process was anything but genuine and honest. Most people wouldn't say that about their builder/s, but I never felt like I was being mislead or given any "fluff" statements or information. What you see is what you get with them and that is what I like. Both are super nice, but also do not beat around the bush. Both [name removed] and [name removed] are approachable and easy to talk to / communicate with. They gave me a lot of great advice and information. I haven't bought a house in almost 20 years. A lot has changed in amenities in homes. I still have a lot to learn and remember, but I am so thankful and grateful for this house. The timing has all been right on point. When I saw the [name removed] plan on the website, I knew that was my favorite, but wasn't sure if I could "swing it" financially. Lucky for me, this one had just been marked down $15k... I told [name removed] I'd be back the following day to sign my contract. I knew about New Castle Homes because of my job as an underwriter. New Castle has always stood out above other local builders I've seen appraisals for - [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]; etc. New Castle has always stood above the rest based on what I had seen and I still stand by that. Is any hour perfect? Of course not. I know I have a few things here that they are going to take a peek at for me, but I have no regrets and would absolutely recommend New Castle to family and friends.

Don’t like getting approval on the plants you can use. Some people do whatever they want.

No Dislikes. Everything went as plan, Newcastle stepped up and went out of there way to get what we needed answered, Or done. No Questions. Want to thank [name removed], and [name removed] for a great and easy transition. Will Recommend.

After the internet cables were ran to the wrong side of the house durning the building process, finally got it fixed. I still have a hole in the side of the house and other side needs filled up or caulk.

It’s a headache to take pictures and email them. I have a list of multiple things that need to be fixed but don’t have time to email them.

Defective shrubs, grass sod in multiple areas of landscaping around the home. Extreme amounts of non biodegradable debris buried right below the surface.. Not provided any warranty booklets nor manufacturer manuals for major appliances. Nails are screws visible from roof wood and gutters , cracked foundation on porch , garage, driveway. Patched cement in garage that never blended like we were told prior to closing. Faded large black metal hinges on out side of garage doors, poor drainage around back porch lawn and edges of yard between each neighbors yard. Mailbox door hard to close rusty. Tree in front yard wasn’t installed properly and leans over during heavy winds, upstairs bathtub water doesn’t come out the faucet.

my shrubs in the front yard were killed by a freeze less than 2 weeks after I moved in and they were not covered in warranty and Newcastle refused to replace them. That is terrible customer service. When the grass in subdivision was first mowed, they mowed everything but my small segment around sidewalk and said they were not responsible for that. I did not have a clear idea what was my responsibility but it would not have killed the to mow it.Poor customer service. Also I find the HOA very restrictive and very slow to respond. My grass was in terrible condition this spring. The soil level is awful. Some of the finishing touches with cabinets , paint and molding in the house are not good quality. The building sites are not picked up and trash overflows in bins.

From the time we put in our contract, I feel like we’ve been jerked around. The day that your realtor drew up the contract and we signed/submitted, you guys countered and raised the price $20K+. We walked. You guys came back willing to honor the original price so we decided to go with it. Then it sat for 2-3 weeks after everything was signed with no work done?? We paid for all upgrades out of pocket and then had to fight to get said upgrades because no one communicated out what we wanted. We told the realtor a couple weeks before final walk thru that things were wrong (no fans in any room, chandelier/pendants wrong, wall color wrong, countertops wrong) and the only thing they immediately fixed was the countertops. We got to final walk thru and this was the first thing I brought up. At the end of the walk thru, you guys finally pulled up the change order that we signed and realized we were correct the whole time and had a whole lot of work to complete by closing. Because of this, there were some other things pointed out at final walk that didn’t get addressed: leak under kitchen sink, quarter round around master vanities, rock in grout, no weatherstripping around either exterior door, doors not shutting properly, attic access door off, and the front yard retaining water. [name removed] assured us he would be working on this stuff but we were pressed for time and we were already late to closing so he told us to go. We came back later to see NOTHING was done like he said he would. He said he’d be back the next day. Nope. [name removed] when we did drive by, someone had left the house wide open - we left it unlocked as a courtesy to you guys so noone would have to be there when they came by Thursday. The only thing addressed that day was a patch of touch up paint. Fast forward, I had to email all these issues into warranty because [name removed] never followed thru. Even when it was submitted to them, he still never followed up to address things like the weather stripping or doors not shutting/locking properly or the front retaining water. We went to re-do the front flower beds because the job the landscapers did was crap. We had plants that were half planted literally. [name removed] one that was planted on top of the sprinkler line. Luckily we decided to redo that because we found that the sprinkler system had been leaking this whole month we’ve lived here. That’s why our front yard stayed sopping wet. We have siphoned so many gallons of water out I’ve lost count - and fyi, even with this fixed, our yard is still holding water. we spent incredibly too much money on this house to be having these kind of issues. I get sometimes crap happens, but this is just ridiculous and if it happened to any of you personally, you’d be a pissed. We have a new super, [name removed], now that [name removed] is gone and he has been one of the only good things. He showed up one day to introduce himself and look at some things. He took an hour to fix the weatherstripping and the locking issue [name removed] he immediately jumped on getting everything addressed. He also was working next door last week and stopped just to check in and make sure we were good. I understand things happen, and you’ll never get a house exactly right 100% of the time. But your guys need to listen to the home buyer and they need to treat the home buyer how they would want their mom, wife, daughter, self treated. I shouldn’t of had to show my ass to get someone to take these issues seriously but I guess I should’ve known this is how the process would be from how we were treated from the get go.

Every person i have been in contact with from the beginning has been knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. One of my only issues is the bathroom vanities in the main bath, while they r lovely, they have small drawers and doors, hard to utilize for storage.

The warranty service has been good. We have had a few issues that were blue tape issues originally that they have taken care of. We have somethings that we still haven't turned in. When our fireplace was leaking gas, they did forget to contact me and I had to reach out two or three times before they go to me (over a two week span).

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
