I cannot think of anything! Our home was built while we were getting things ready to move from Ohio. There were a couple of meetings where we had to come down to see how things were going and sign off on things. But, the design center experience was terrific. We may have had 2 design changes for $250 each because of misunderstanding on our part. Newcastle built my wife's dream home! The floor plan is so convenient and we are extremely pleased with every update. Truly, the experience could not have been better!

We were over all very pleased with the majority of our home build. There are a few things that we moved in that were not completed but [name removed] and newcastle have been great at communicating when those things will be completed.

[name removed] has been a God-send. Very personable and helpful. Sometimes he does not follow up with his promises (there is a ton on his plate, so I understand). There are a few finishes in our home that look quickly and inaccurately done.

Likes - [name removed] offered timely updates regarding the building process. Dislikes - the design center and builder do not know the same information. We were told certain things were included by the design center only to find out they were not from the builder. We had to have multiple phone calls and meeting regarding upgrades to our shower because of the poor communication from the design center to the builder. Quality - our home is a $485K home, but the quality does not match this price. The drywall work is not done well, the painting is mediocre at best & we’ve already had to have breakers replaced in the 6 weeks we’ve been in the home. Additionally we have a list of warranty items that are about to be submitted.

While we understand that each home is made by human hands, we completely understand that things will come up and concerns will arise. So what we can appreciate the absolute most is the promptness to respond to repair requests. We are very pleased with the warranty service and customer care experience when we've had to contact them. They took complete ownership of any issue and made sure that it was repaired or corrected to our satisfaction. It is clear that they are in the business of doing right by their customers and making their homes a happy place to live in and be proud of!

Since my walk through before closing in March, I was told by the building staff that they would fix the items, such as loose bannister, scratched vent in kitchen. Still not done.

My house has constant water runoff issues on three corners of the lot. Newcastle came out once and said it’s fine. Well months later now it’s an absolute mud pit on all three sides. It needs a French drain in the worst way. It’s hard to even mow the grass.

I have addressed a lot of things, I am still waiting on the remaining kitchen tile that was not left in the home, the columns on the front porch were half painted, the driveway is still two-done

Everything. House is falling apart. We have had leaks, lights fall out of ceilings, and now our garage door is falling out of the ceiling due to shotty workmanship. Paint is chipping off walls. The materials used and the builders hired are so sub-par there are no words. When there is an issue, the reply is delayed days and all you hear are excuses.

I like the community as for the reason I chose to build here, but my dislike is very long so I will attempt to be brief My issue started from the design center to the final stage of closing, I felt my home was rushed and must thrown together. I had alot of issues with my plans that I now have to live with, [name removed] have issues that have not been completed and I closed on this home a month ago tomorrow 1/18/21. * Fireplace was not as I I wanted it * Hit and miss with the paint * Patio door does not close/lock * Driveway has machine marks throughout

We absolutely love our home and the entire building experience. It was fantastic from start to finish. The only complaint we have are the drainage issues on the sides of the house. Water pools and stays stagnant a good bit for days after a rain or sprinkler system running, making it a hotbed for mosquitoes as well as a mud pit. Currently there just isn't anywhere for the water to drain based on there not being a grade. I've brought this up a few times but continue to be told that it's fine and that I shouldn't worry. I've heard of 3 other homeowners have the same complaint so it doesn't feel like it's just us. It's something we're trying not to be difficult about as we've loved working with Newcastle but this seems to be something that Newcastle has had a lot of pushback on. We totally understand this requires some additional work so we're trying to be empathetic.

After meeting [name removed] she quickly understood our buying criteria and met our budget, size of house, lot selection with our budget and move in date. She was also easy to reach post sale as we worked out final details. Building a semi custom home with upgrades takes a joint effort between the buyer and New Castle so it worked out well for us.

My purchase experience was stressful and I was disappointed in the service provided by Newcastle. Personally, I checked on the building of my home weekly . The first error was the wrong brick was installed. It had to be removed and replaced. Also, I made it known and advised early on to the contractor and Newcastle realtor that the tiles I saw (still in boxes) placed in the home for each bathroom, kitchen and fire place were not what I selected. A week later, the incorrect tiles were installed in every room. It took 2-3 weeks for the tiles to be removed, to order the correct tile and to replace it. This caused my closing date to be pushed back. On the day of my closing, the gas was not turned on so my closing was pushed back a few hours. My personal home inspector found several issues that had to be resolved a week before closing to include insulation in the attic, soffits and could not check for gas or hot water at the time so he had to return a second time (the day of the closing). My purchase experience was very stressful and to add, at the closing, there was no representative from Newcastle [name removed] present nor did one reached out during the process to apologize or acknowledge the inconveniences throughout my experience. Also, I am making a long list of items to be touched up within the next year, to include a closet door that will not close. Very disappointing.

Our experience was incredible and pretty seamless. I had heard horror stories with builders so I kind of expected some speed bumps. Didn’t really experience any of that. The super intendants [name removed] and [name removed] are incredible. They still check up on us. I’m so impressed that I wouldn’t even bat an eye at inviting them into our home for dinner. Great group.

Your staff have been great to deal with. Follow up is not always consistent. Would have liked a little more flexibility with the home instead of “No, can’t do that.” There are some items in my home that are not designed correctly, basically I’ve lived in a lot of homes....and theses issues would be inexpensive and easy to correct during build process. Would be able to give you specific input if you so desire.

We were not kept up on communication on the different building stages. When we brought an issue to their attention, they said it was an unfinished product. It was as though the subs were just building and no one was managing the process. Also, on several occasions subs were drinking alcohol at the job site.

Our dishwasher started leaking after 2months. Having to go through Samsung was and still is a nightmare. They came out 3 times to “try” and fix it and not much effort was taken. We are now in the process of getting a refund. After about 4 weeks we still do not have a refund. This is because All South does not do the exchange program that Samsung offers. So we bought a brand new appliance from All South in the hopes that one day we will get our money back because I refuse to go months without a dishwasher in a brand new house. This is unacceptable!!! Samsung has given us the run around. [name removed] I just purchased a brand new home and then had to go out a replace a brand new dishwasher. In my opinion this should not be my problem!! If I bought a new dishwasher in September when we closed on the house then I should not have to buy another one again.

A lot to like, very little not to like. Almost all the people I dealt with were highly professional, good listeners and really great assets to the Newcastle organization. I don't like that fact that my lot was not graded to drain properly by the builder and I have to pay someone to fix it.

Like: Addressed concerns quickly; flexibility to offer a contract contingent on sale of prior home Dislikes: Have to make design decisions too quickly and not able to contemplate decisions (suggestion: give buyer all choices ahead to look at prior to design appt. and give buyer a short time , say 48 hours, to change decisions after design appt with no fee); mistakes made in building that were not in accordance with Plan/specs (most we had to point out) ; contractors allowed to trash the lot and home- personably observed leftover food and trash, beer cans, and workers with coolers of beer in their vehicles. Contractors did not clean up at end of day. Also, contractors messed each other’s work up- something would be installed and it would get damaged by someone else. We were asked to do a first walk through before material things were complete (ex: kitchen backsplash grout , MBA floor missing tiles) and the house was dirty.

We absolutely love our home and the entire building experience. It was fantastic from start to finish. The only complaint we have are the drainage issues on the sides of the house. Water pools and stays stagnant a good bit for days after a rain or sprinkler system running, making it a hotbed for mosquitoes as well as a mud pit. Currently there just isn't anywhere for the water to drain based on there not being a grade. I've brought this up a few times but continue to be told that it's fine and that I shouldn't worry. I've heard of 3 other homeowners have the same complaint so it doesn't feel like it's just us. It's something we're trying not to be difficult about as we've loved working with Newcastle but this seems to be something that Newcastle has had a lot of pushback on. We totally understand this requires some additional work so we're trying to be empathetic.

We have been here almost 6 months, [name removed] came over and handled several things. [name removed] now we have some cabinet issues that need attention BUT we know this has been a “crazy year” for every industry so when this can be addressed we would love to have them fixed.

Our dishwasher started leaking after 2months. Having to go through Samsung was and still is a nightmare. They came out 3 times to “try” and fix it and not much effort was taken. We are now in the process of getting a refund. After about 4 weeks we still do not have a refund. This is because All South does not do the exchange program that Samsung offers. So we bought a brand new appliance from All South in the hopes that one day we will get our money back because I refuse to go months without a dishwasher in a brand new house. This is unacceptable!!! Samsung has given us the run around. [name removed] I just purchased a brand new home and then had to go out a replace a brand new dishwasher. In my opinion this should not be my problem!! If I bought a new dishwasher in September when we closed on the house then I should not have to buy another one again.

I cannot think of anything! Our home was built while we were getting things ready to move from Ohio. There were a couple of meetings where we had to come down to see how things were going and sign off on things. But, the design center experience was terrific. We may have had 2 design changes for $250 each because of misunderstanding on our part. Newcastle built my wife's dream home! The floor plan is so convenient and we are extremely pleased with every update. Truly, the experience could not have been better!

My house has constant water runoff issues on three corners of the lot. Newcastle came out once and said it’s fine. Well months later now it’s an absolute mud pit on all three sides. It needs a French drain in the worst way. It’s hard to even mow the grass.

Everything. House is falling apart. We have had leaks, lights fall out of ceilings, and now our garage door is falling out of the ceiling due to shotty workmanship. Paint is chipping off walls. The materials used and the builders hired are so sub-par there are no words. When there is an issue, the reply is delayed days and all you hear are excuses.

After meeting [name removed] she quickly understood our buying criteria and met our budget, size of house, lot selection with our budget and move in date. She was also easy to reach post sale as we worked out final details. Building a semi custom home with upgrades takes a joint effort between the buyer and New Castle so it worked out well for us.

A lot to like, very little not to like. Almost all the people I dealt with were highly professional, good listeners and really great assets to the Newcastle organization. I don't like that fact that my lot was not graded to drain properly by the builder and I have to pay someone to fix it.
