This was my wife and I’s first home purchase. Anything dealing with front office sales and warranty has been a pleasure. Specifically, Joe C in sales was a delight and JJ was always super responsive and informative. However the quality of the home doesnt seem to align with the value of the home.

The builder Greg XXXXX ED. He lied. So many things are wrong with our home and no one has addressed it. Corporate included. For a million dollar home in the Fields, worst experience ever. John Jay IS not reflective of this feedback. He’s been Amazing.

The only good thing about this experience has been working with our warranty guy JJ. But Greg was absolutely horrendous to work with and so careless and a liar. I’m also pissed off that we were forced to close on our home before they finished fixing everything despite us asking to wait. We have the wrong color cabinets in our home (despite me asking Greg and him lying and telling me it was fine, I verified with the painter dirty it was in fact a different color) , broken tiles, stained shower pan from construction, water the leaks in thru our front door, cabinets built incorrectly due to someone drilling the toilet pipe line in the incorrect place, our master countertop wasn’t sealed or something is wrong with it and it’s been stained, and the list goes on. Greg was careless in the construction of our home and it shows. And corporate has done little to help come up with any sort of resolution. I will never recommend shaddock to anyone. This review is NOT a reflection of John Jay. He has been amazing. This review is a reflection of Greg during the build process, Joe from a sales office perspective & corporate for pushing us to close and now brushing us off.

Although I appreciated the home walkthrough and orientation it felt extremely rushed and might be specific to my purchase. We had a 3rd party inspection and the next day were assured that select items were taken care of; 50% were not. Because of the tight timeline we closed and moved in. We have a backlog of things that we need to submit in the warrant portal. My main annoyance is with the assurance we were given.

Joe, Tammy and JJ have been amazing as have been iterated in other reviews and surveys. JJ is currently working to pick up the mess that Greg built. I honestly don’t know what the point of these are when upper management says Greg is not going anywhere. No one likes him at Shaddock and he is a known liar and conman and it really bugs me that Shaddock says we cut back his workload and he’s a family friend so we want him to succeed when he’s proven he’s a snake. He apparently forges signatures on city permits and lies to get his bonus on FA forms. I really don’t know why he’s still around. Every Shaddock home built in the fields feels the same. In the end you are ruining your business with sticking up for people like this but it’s on you.

Joe Callender and John Jay have been the saving grace of our experience with Shaddock. Joe is knowledgeable and a very kind person to work with, we still follow up with Joe even months after the sale of our house. We have had several issues come up since closing on our home and John has been a life saver and getting issues resolved very quickly and goes out of his way to make us feel like it matters. He is also a very nice guy to deal with. Greg Markovic is the main reason we would not consider buying another Shaddock Home. I personally believe he is lazy, doesn't know what he is doing and is detrimental to the Shaddock name. He doesn't communicate well during the process, provides empty promises, lies and is dismissive. We have met 4 to 5 new neighbors that also had to deal with him and not 1person has anything good to say about him and that it was a nightmare dealing with him. I can provide more details if needed. He should be fired in my personal opinion he was so bad. We wouldn't buy another Shaddock home if he was the construction manager on our house.

I liked the speed at which things progressed. However, I did not like the lack of communication. I had to hunt for information. I wish the Shaddock team had been more proactive with updates throughout the process.

My experience with Shaddock has been pretty positive until after I moved in. I’ve had a number of issues. There are still some minor things that are left undone after I moved in. Warranty has not fixed these as promised. We also had an issue where the siding was somehow ripped off on the roof. I have no clue how this happened. I was questioned and probed about this item as though I went to the roof to rip it off. Warranty came to fix it after some back and forth but they are yet to paint it. It’s been almost 2 months. However, My biggest issue has been the rodent problem in my attic. I’m pretty upset and disappointed because I’ve had to spend over $3500 to take care of this issue. When I told my warranty guy during the roof issue that I’m hearing lots of activity in my attic, all he said is we don’t take care of this. My issue is that Shaddock left so many entry points for rodents to enter and nest in my brand new attic. I haven’t even paid 6 months of mortgage on this house and I’m paying for removal of rodents caused my negligence and lack of follow up/care. If I moved in and I was given some type of heads up to close out entry points, then I would have. Anyway, I told my warranty guy and there was no real concern to assist me. My pest control company eventually came out and linked this infestation to the entry points left at the Ac units outside. There were big holes left in the area. Rodent dropping all around the area. They even caught a rat there the next day! Imagine sleeping in a brand new home, not even 6 months and having to hear such activity during the night. This has been the worst experience ever. This is my 3rd new construction home and I’ve never ever had such an issue and a callous response to my request.

everything. the entire process XXXXX ed. i won't get into it too much as i've already expressed my deep frustration. but to summarize, everyone we worked with was incredibly kind. but for a million dollar purchase, our newly wed home there was lack of transparency, lack of communication, lack of awareness, lack of follow-thru, lack of everything with everything else thru this whole process.

Only thing I wish I didn't do is pay $65K in lot upgrade. The prices have not gone up to justify the lot premium. The lots close by or next door are now sold with no lot premium.

The lack of communication from Project Manager (Greg) was horrible. The lack of politeness and common business courtesy from the design center (Stephanie) was just as bad as Greg. I have been a Senior level executive (C-Level) for F500 company(s) for over 30 years now and can tell you first hand that I would never employ individuals that spoke to customers the way they both did to my wife and I. When someone is coming into a new community and spending over $1M they expect a certain decorum and professionalism that frankly is just not there. A number of issues that we experienced could have easily been prevented with some basic communication. I also think they both could use some training on both the product they are selling as well as how to communicate. The highlight of our experience was certainly sales (Joe and Tammy), they are both very knowledgeable and extremely professional and represent your company in a very positive light. You are lucky to have them and am fairly confident had it not been for them, my wife and I would have canceled the contract and went with another builder.
