[name removed] our foreman was awesome. He was great to work with, and made the experience. I was not impressed with our sales person [name removed], but we worked through it. There are a few cosmetic items that we will need to have corrected before our year is up such as our tape on out ceiling is already cracking, and our master bedroom does not close properly, but overall the house is fine.

1) The sales manager was polite until we signed the contract. When the design selections began, the Shaddock Design Center was not responsive at all. They did not provide us inputs to our questions until 3-5 days in a row, and on the other side the sales manager kept pressurizing us to penalize if we do not make the selections within 15 day time period. Unfortunately that was the worst experience to begin with. 2) We selected a floor plan while signing the contract. The construction manager and his team made wrong drawings, which resulted in missing a window in kitchen. We pointed this at the framing stage, and were hoping that they would fix the error. In return, we received a rude feedback that this is what you signed up. We never signed their construction drawings. We only selected the floorplan which had a window in the kitchen. This was another frustrating experience. 3) There were 20 requests made to give us around 60 day notice before the home is ready for move in. It turns out, the construction manager gave a 25 day move in notice. That created a big hassle on our end. We paid penalty for moving out early of our apartment. Now that everything was ready to go, two days before the final walk day the construction manager mentioned that the closing will be further delayed by one more week due to winter storm. That caused even more damage on our end. We were technically home less for a week. The builder did not show any sign of support for example, on the contrary the sales manager mentioned that "consider yourself lucky to get a home so fast. Many people are waiting for getting their home built." We paid you to get this home and it was not a luck to get what we paid and agreed for! Again, a very bad experience. 4) Before the walk, we made some blue tape markings on things to be fixed. When the day of final walk came, there were no blue tapes at the home. We assumed that all of them are now fixed. Apparently it turns out, many of the items were pending to be fixed. I reached the warranty department and they bluntly mentioned we won't fix any cosmetics after the closing. We trusted the construction manager and this is what we get to live with now. Overall, it is the sellers market and we got the flavor of it. The builder did not care to meet the customer needs.

Our contractor [name removed] could improve his communication skills at least keep home buyers updated on the progress or what to expect and not get upset when the buyer points out something is wrong.

Likes: -Our sales rep, [name removed], was great every step of the way. This was our first home buying experience and she was extremely thorough and patient with us. -Our construction manger, [name removed], is awesome. He did such a great job communicating weekly updates and addressing any questions/concerns we had. -Our design center experience was great too! [name removed] worked her magic and we get so many compliments on our design selections. Dislikes: -Lots and lots of trash on site and in the house during construction. Some homes seemed "cleaner" than others; ours not so much. -The original contract and all our change orders did not provide the complete address of our new build. We requested an updated contract to include the entire address (city and zip) at the request of my 401K/benefits department. [name removed] was unable to accommodate this and altered the original contract by adding the city/zip. This was disturbing as the font size was not consistent. We in work in the insurance industry and see falsified/altered contracts often so it was concerning to see that the builder did this.
