Items missing at delivery including violation of building code (not having an operable window in a bedroom), stains on the carpet, and urine on the bathroom floor. The items called out during the walkthrough were not addressed for 8 months after we moved in. The contractors had to come back on multiple occasions because they didn't measure the window size correctly or weren't able to lay the tile right. We even had to go out and purchase our own tile because they forgot to order the tile in time for our pre-arranged date. Overall, just a terrible experience compared to our previous new builds. We thought going with a smaller, local builder would be better than going back to Lennar or Toll Brothers. Surprisingly, the attention to detail and workmanship is actually worse.

Constant delays during building phase with missing light fixtures, noncompliance with safety guidelines (missing egress from bedroom window), and lack of attention to detail (e.g. tile work is crooked, chipped, and sloppy). We have had to hire contractors or re-do finishes on our own because we’re told that it’s within “acceptable room for error.” Our contractor who also works as a senior construction manager for another builder disagreed that this work is acceptable. Outsourcing is common in construction but [name removed] should really review the quality of the work being performed, there should at least be internal standards that should be enforced across the different communities that they are building at. We are very unhappy about our purchase experience, will definitely not recommend to anybody and will be expressing our views across other social media sites.

[name removed] service was terrible. The vendors are unreliable. The window vendors had to come multiple times bc they didn’t have the right window size, right equipment to fix the window, etc, the window is still not fixed. We had electrical issues in multiples locations in the house that is still unresolved. The roof was leaking, which is shocking given the house is brand new. Garage door took an over a month before the vendor responded bc the vendor was not planning to be in our area so didn’t want to come out. Tile repairs have been ongoing since we purchased the home in July. The tile vendors had to come out multiple times. We as the homeowners had to purchase the tile for installation bc the vendor was incapable of ordering the tiles. Overall our experience with [name removed] has been the worst home buying experience. [name removed] is unreliable and have consistently sent incapable and unreliable vendors to address issues that should not be existing in a new home. [name removed] has continuous inconvenienced us as the purchasers. We were left with no toilet in the powder room for over a month, we were unable to use our master bathroom for over a month.

At move in the home was not complete. [name removed], the construction manager (who has left the company) assured us the unfinished items would be complete with a week or so after we closed. Here we are 6 weeks after close and moving in, the door in the master shower has not been installed and other items still are not finished. We have been working with [name removed] to resolve some of the problems, but things are still not finished. I would like to talk to someone who can help get the rest of these items fixed/finalized. It was mostly a positive experience. There were certainly some mishaps along the way, but I felt that everyone we dealt with at SGH did their best to make it a positive experience. Some of the issues had more to do with supply chain constraints due to building the home during the height of the global pandemic. Due to those constraints there were limitations on several products that effected almost everything in the design center snd a few big items such as black on black windows. While we understood these things were out of SGH’s hands we would have liked more flexibility in picking items that were not from the approved vendors. We understand that much of SGH profits are derived from vendor relationships, however, we felt like there could have been more flexibility to go outside of those vendors. Even if it only applied to some tile selections.

[name removed] was awesome and super helpful. [name removed] has been very responsive on getting warranty work completed. I’m disappointed in the quality of the flooring. It flexes in several spots and is warped under the oven from the heat.

[name removed] was great. Kept us on track and kept us up to date. Overall, it was a very positive experience. Our primary dislike was the exterior brick. From the time it was laid, we had questions/concerns about how sloppy the grout work was and told that it would clean up and it would be fixed. After several cleanings, it didn't improve. It turns out, for some reasons the brick crew just decided to that was the "style". We were not asked, did not choose it, and are very disappointed, given an otherwise very positive experience. We haven't not gotten any post closing commitment to try and resolve it.

I have built 5 homes and I have never had the issues with the workmanship that I have with this one. I understand there were supply issues, etc. but the actual quality of the home is awful. Our granite was not sealed (and now it has stains that will never come out), the wood on the mantle that we paid extra for looks like it has mold all over it, the shower pan is faulty and tile is coming up (we were told it's the house shifting but we have never had that with any other home), the door on the shower was hung poorly and looks like it was just slapped on, paint is already "lifting" on many of the cabinets, our floater shelves were never stained, etc. and the list goes on. This is a 700k+ house and I would have expected more. Although the warranty stuff is getting addressed (we still have issues), we should have never had these issues in the first place.

Really liked the overall process and sales support throughout the process. Would definitely recommend to family and friends! Only issue has been getting a warranty follow up. Window seal issue that is still unresolved.

Prompt service from electrician.Still trying to connect about cabinets. Have resolved floors or paint issues. I've disliked that warranty requests go into a black hole and there is no tracking. I can't see what I've requested or what the status is on the builder end.

The whole experience from starting to buy to even now when I am trying to go throug 80+ items being fixed since close of the home. [name removed] Homes has failed me big time. You have a couple good people, but your process and your ability to deliver on your promise is absolutely missing. The quality of workmanship to sense of timeline or follow up is poor. I still have many items still to be fixed even after 5 months since I moved in. From big things like 34 window replacements to small things like replacement of microwave that was broken on delivery back in December, it has been a daunting experience. Your staff is overworked and can focus to deliver. Your partners have low level of commitment to work they do. I can go on, but you really have to rethink your business from sales, to studio, to building, to delivery and service. I can post it in public blog with pictures and evidences, but don't think that would change anything about your business, unless your people start looking inside and start fixing things. I certainly feel let down by [name removed] as an overall experience of home buying and receiving a fully functional home as we paid for.

Although we closed back in January we are currently still moving in. Our best experience came from dealing with the construction manager during the close-out process. He was quick to meet, respond and worked to bring everything up to standard! That is not the norm and was greatly appreciated.
