Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

San Antonio, on Sep 15, 2024

Our sales experience with [name removed] was excellent. We felt a reasonable amount of pressure to make a decision but also had a TON of support and nothing ever felt forced. We were heard. He answered messages promptly and clearly. Our build experience with [name removed] was top notch. We would notice a small issue with the home and before saying anything to [name removed] it would already be fixed. Quality control was excellent. Thus fair repairs after closing have been easy to manage and organize.

After the move they keep in touch and if you have questions or find something out of order they will be happy to help and fix anything that needs fixing. Overall, it has been a great experience.

Warranty service has yet to be completed. Warranty claim turned in and [name removed] was very rude to my wife and caused more damage while trying to fix the things we needed repaired. HomePro system was not fully installed when we moved in. Water knock still not addressed which was turned in right after we moved in. Plumbers cut multiple holes in our walls, but have not fixed the issue.

We really like how well the home is laid out and the quality details that were included. We only noticed a few areas where some of the work was not done to an exemplary level, most are very minor. We would still recommend [name removed] Homes as they have worked with us to rectify issues without complication. Overall, we love our home and are very happy with it.

Individual people within the company have been friendly and attempted to be helpful ([name removed], [name removed], [name removed]). However, we feel the overall quality of the construction of our home as a whole was less than expected/presented. In addition, companies that were used in the building of our home and others in this neighborhood have been extremely difficult to work with in trying to correct issues or even schedule appointments.

Overall, this was an awesome experience. The homes come with amazing built-in features that really make you feel like you’re getting more for your dollar. My only dislikes are very minor. For starters; there is no good location to store the recycle/garbage bins, the product used for the epoxy garage paint is EXTREMELY thin and chips right off, I don’t have keys to lock the Amazon drop box, and I didn’t get window shades that seem to come standard in all the other homes. However, the other added features more than make up for those shortcoming. As well as the quality of customer service I have received, and continue to receive. Amazing team and amazing product.

I think some things are quality, getting some of the repairs has been stressful and not all quality. Some things have not been done and I am tired of dealing with it. I gave up and will deal with on my own. I loved the first people that were involved but the latter have not been as quality. There is something with the sliding door and my window in attic is not right. I’ve given up. I’m still waiting to see if doggie door holds against water after being fixed. The electrical box has been brought up to recall standards but I’d have never known if I didn’t pay for private inspection. [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and a few others were excellent. I think the overall quality is good and view homes is better than the average. I should have been more mindful of things before closing. Lesson learned. I would recommend but insist things were fixed before closing or moving in. There are a few other minor things but too stressful to deal with. Tile work is better than most and colors are excellent. Drywall was off and caulking was not done well in some areas. If not for first contacts I’d probably be not as happy with things. Thank you

I've had several issues on the house with the most recent as a result of poor craftmanship and laziness of a contractor not caulking/taping the seams of the walls and ceiling which has resulted in cracking. I am worried more will show up and I wish [name removed] Homes would honor these damages despite after a year of ownership. The contractors they've used have also been a hit or miss. Some contractors dont show up at all and wasted my time.

Warranty has been the best thing about the process! Our warranty guy has been so helpful and understanding, what is disappointing is all the truths that came out on closing DAY. About how they sold our original lot to another person knowing that we’d be willing to negotiate. Making promises and misrepresentations that weren’t truth. Overall I love and am proud of my home, but I definitely had to fight for it. I’d love to discuss further with anyone who has questions or concerns about this feedback.

Staff was not willing to meet with me on a Saturday to do a walk thru of the home, so I had to do the walk thru in the early am and close later in the day, I had serious thoughts about purchasing the home because of that, I had no other time to meet due to my job had me out of town week prior, but they would not work with me, like I said if I had to do it all over again, I would have purchased a home somewhere else, I wasn’t valued as a paying customer, that’s the reason for the low scores.

We were disappointed in the placement of the water softener compared to the garage options we selected and how it looked in the model home. This was somewhat resolved to the best they could. It would be nice to have a manual for the home. There are so many smart options that we have still been unable to take advantage of and set up due to lack of manuals/instructions. The builder contact has been great. The communication has been fairly good to date, but there is still lots of follow up that needs to happen.

The warranty department isn’t prompt to repair the property or home. I fell down in my driveway and was injured because the wood separating cement is 1/2 inches above the concrete. I have had to get steroid injections in my back. I had the warranty department look at it however there is no urgency to repair. Someone else is going to get hurt because of poor craftsmanship.

Freddy Boberg had us hooked on the home from the first-time we walked through the model serenity. With all the amenities included in the pricing. It looked like a option for us. We were happy that after we decided on a home (7341 Walkers Loop) we were able to get it even thought we had to adjust plans due to trying to get the closing cost funds. One thing that upset me early on was the fact that for our earnest money, we were given the incorrect name to make the money order out to and that caused to have to wait for 20+ days to get our money back and pay a fee for cancelling the order. When it came to the contract part, there were a few mistakes on the contract including pricing, naming, and a tile adjustment that looked to us like an upgrade, but was explained to be a change in material cost. After those were remedied we moved on to dealing directly with our first Loan Estimator Joe Bass. We had a poor time with our first Loan Estimator Joe Bass. While there was some bad timing with him from vacations and getting sick, I constantly felt like he was distracted and slow to respond to our questions. This is after he explicitly asked me to text him instead of using email, and I still felt his response time was lacking. It would take sometimes multiple days to hear back and/or multiple asks of the same questions. I also felt like he did not explain all options to us properly (specifically on the types of loans we can get [not even mentioning the First-Time Buyer Conventional with 3% down which is the one we choose]) and we had to compel him to give us information about the loan estimation and processes. I also ended up finding a lot of small mistakes in our paperwork and one large mistake in which he had over-estimated the amount of incentives that could be given to us at one time. This changed our closing cost by about 2000. When we were within the time frame of closing, that making a switch to not use the Viewhomes lender would have caused us significant troubles. The incentives were really a strong help, but once again it seemed as though they were only added correctly or added after we had mentioned that we were shopping for loans and not simply choosing the Viewhomes lender. After discussing this with View Mortgage we were able to get in contact with Sandy and had a smooth transition moving forward. When it came to closing we had another miscommunication about the closing funds. We believe that a check was needed and it turns out that wire transfer is the primary way completed now from First America Title. While everything ended up working out in the end. Things like this when large sums of money (Our closing cost was about 19k) are being utilized put more stress on me and my wife as buyers. As for the builder Eddy Gonzalez, I have no issues with him. He did a great job in explaining things to us was responsive and continues to help me as a new homeowner. He even helped us with an extra small step for our dog door since the drop was a little larger than anticipated. The house came together nicely and on top of that his estimate of completion was accurate with no major delays. He did the orientation for us and fixed all of the small asks from us that we saw around the house. I definitely enjoyed the process with Freddy B and he continues to call us regularly and make sure we are content with the house. While there were some miscommunications and problems with the process, overall I am very happy with the house and process.

We have yet to receive our actual warranty. We were told within 6 - 8 weeks after escrow, we would receive a package from Builders 10 Warranty in the mail with all our warranty information. That has not happened and I have asked several individuals.

I haven’t filed a warranty service as of today. I do have seen items that do need to be addressed.

It isn't a dislike or like but rather the items that have had to have a follow up. Smart light feature in the kitchen, shed isn't built and random electrical issues

Too many issues ti resolve and too long ti resolve. Six months living here and still trying to resolve issues. The first home I bought years ago did not have many issues.

Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

Our sales experience with [name removed] was excellent. We felt a reasonable amount of pressure to make a decision but also had a TON of support and nothing ever felt forced. We were heard. He answered messages promptly and clearly. Our build experience with [name removed] was top notch. We would notice a small issue with the home and before saying anything to [name removed] it would already be fixed. Quality control was excellent. Thus fair repairs after closing have been easy to manage and organize.

My only issue is the slope in the backyard.

I was told that the house would be a mirror image of the model. Something’s were not and the time it would take to do the work and having to tear out the floor and walls is not worth it.

Thank you

Only issue has been with the smart lighting features which couldn't seem to work properly.

The [name removed] Warranty Repair Program is terrible. I have a list of items needing repair that have been seen and verified by two customer care representatives and not fixed for over six months. I have contacted both [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] multiple times a month to be told they are working on the scheduling for repairs, However - they do not.
