I liked everything from contract through move in. It was very smooth, easy and quick. Everyone answered any questions I had and was willing to assist. The only issue I had was I was a mixup with the home keys which was quickly solved.

In the end I liked how our home turned out, there wasn’t a lot of things that needed to be fixed for move in. Our Desert View representative, Lili, was very up front with everything and what we should expect and how the process would go. I disliked that it felt like it took a long time, and towards the end it seemed like move in was made longer then necessary because of red tape.

Winfield Model When doing the walk through orientation, please do not start the sentence with “this is a perfect home built my imperfect men”. First few weeks of move in, there was a leak on the 1st floor ceiling, cause is unknown. Plumbers came and replaced the wax seals improperly for the toilet located in the master bedroom. Leak continues to happen until another plumber came by to inspect and replaced the wax seals again. However it continued to leak again. Finally, another plumber came and made a cut on the ceiling drywall exposing where the leak is coming from. Located at the pipe joints. This is a brand new home and contractors wants to perform repairs in a half XXXXX fashion way. Why can’t the problem be fixed the first time instead of wasting time for coming back multiple times? Homeowners have work too and can’t afford constantly leaving the job to go back home. I felt that I have to constantly monitor the contractor’s job because of their half XXXXX work previously.

I have received multiple calls and even a house visit to ensure that I understand how to properly take care of my new home. The purchase experienced was the best quality of the process. It was a smooth transition and with lots of open communication despite being out of state during the process. The sales agent kept me inform and periodically sent updates which, as an out of state buyer you appreciate. The walk-through was also a good experience even via facetime as my realtor had to do that for us. I do like the flexibility from the staff. Jessica was so accommodating and was able to give us a second orientation once we arrived. The dislike is the quality of the craftsmanship. There are a lot of deficiencies that need to be addressed. Too many minor things that were overlooked and although we have a year of craftsmanship warranty, it seems like the finishing touches were rushed and are visible throughout the house.

Warranty claims very responsive but slow to complete. 3-4 visits to verify same issue and take the same measurements. Finally arrive to do some jobs after taking off work and only one contractor shows and future appointments have to be made.

The process was great. Our Desert View representative Monique was great and kept us well informed throughout the process. However, the experience with prewire el paso was terrible. Also I felt, as we got close to closing, the process became rushed and it reflected in the home with simple things like cleaning residue from paint or grouting and corking the walls, floors and fixtures, etc. There should not have been that much paint on fixtures and I should not feel lumps or debris under my feet when I am walking on my carpet upstairs. This, in my opinion is a direct reflection of DV home's QA team if that's a thing.

The move in process was great. Everything went smoothly especially on the closing date. The only things we had to purchase which we hoped it was included with the house was the following; an extra shelf and/or clothes hanging bar for the laundry room was lacking and we had to purchase and install them. Also the backyard lacked privacy and we had buy a privacy fence for now. Eventually we will purchase an extension of the rock wall. Also the bedrooms lack ceiling fans and we're going to have to purchase and install those as well as a heating fans in the bathrooms. Or at least the master bedroom. Also the control panel for the heater/ac has the thermostat on the 1st floor. It tells us the temperature on the 1st floor but not the temperature upstair.. because of this it can be very hot upstairs when the heater is on while the temperature is ok downstairs.
