As a person, they seem great. However, when it comes to warranty work it seems like they try to get out of anything they can. This is a brand new house and I have a terrible spot on the ceiling that they call a "flashing." It looks awful, it looks like a water spot and I'm sure it will cause concern when we go to sell. Warranty said they will attempt to fix it, but there's no guarantee and it will often look worse. How is that acceptable for a new house? All warranty says is "builders binding agreement" over and over. (The builders binding agreement also doesn't address anything about drywall other than cracks, this isn't a crack. Or at least that’s the section warranty likes to point out.) That’s not what a new homeowner who just spent 260k on a NEW house wants to hear, nor should they. When we bought we were assured if there were issues they would be fixed. Additionally, our front door was off by over a half inch, meaning it was visibly crooked. [name removed] did a good job trying to fix it, but its still off by a quarter inch. It's less noticeable, but seriously? This is the front door to the house, the FRONT DOOR. The center point of the house when family, guest, and others visit, and everyone notices it.

The careless act of home don't being done on time, and the way the sales rep tried to tell me how to do certain cut backs to be able to afford a monthly mortgage.

I did not have a good experience. From the time my house was going to be built until the end. The house took longer to be built then what I was told. When it was time for me to move in there was always some kind of delay. I felt like I was never going to be moved in because delay after delay. The signing process was fast and easy but I was and am still missing the home owners manual and when I told you that I was missing the manual it seemed like they didn’t believe me and said they should have gave it to me at signing when I know I didn’t and still do not have it. Overall it was not a Good experience. I liked the home because it had the things I wanted on my checklist as far as what I needed for my home and that’s why I didn’t back out from the deal but if I would have found another home before I signed I would have gone elsewhere but I had a certain time frame to move out.

[Translated from ES] One of the cabinet doors was bad, some walls have some flaws, but what worries me the most is the stone fence that is falling. I wanted to buy a new house to avoid any kind of problem, but too soon defects came out, I have more than one month I reported it and they have not helped me in anything lousy service

I Loved how everyone was happy for the purchaser and always had a great attitude. They would always keep you updated on the process of your house while it was being built whether it was a good update or not, it was still a relief to know that they were on top of things. As far as moving in it was the best! We Love how [name removed] talked about the warranties the house had and how it all worked and he made us feel like we had some one to lean on after we moved in. DVH becomes apart of your family. We Love it!

The frequency of communication from [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]. They went above and beyond keeping us updated on the building progress since we live out of town.

Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.
