Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

El Paso, TX, on Jul 30, 2026

The subcontractors they hired without oversight are damaging the reputation of Desert [name removed] Homes. Just for context I will explain my issues which were avoidable and disappointing to say the least. 1. Constant issues with electricity within the home and microwave. 2. Water Pressure Regulator Valve (PRV) that is required to regulate water pressure between the city and home was not installed in the correct location. When I brought it to the attention of the Maintenance Mgr. he attempted to convince me to put the new PRV in an area not even associated with the water system coming into the home. I believe that higher than normal pressure (greater than 80psi) is what damaged my irrigation system and cost me an over $450 water bill and I am stuck repairing my own irrigation system because management denied that pressure is a contributing factor to that valve bursting and leaking over 26,000 gallons unbeknownst to me. 3. Upon changing a light switch, the electrician found one of the wires was cut and had exposed wires which I wouldn't have known had the switch been changed out for a better one (It wasn't changed by Desert [name removed] I paid to have the work done and reported the findings with photos to Desert [name removed] with no response). 4. The dryer machine outlet plug was installed upside down. 5. My balcony upstairs in the loft is not level and actually slanted. Nothing not even a glass could be placed on that balcony as it would fall off. 6. Obvious damage to my walls going up the stairs that was obviously done during build while moving in material and it was poorly patched up and doesn't look aestically pleasing to the eyes. These are just a few of the imperfections found within the home build that I will now have to pay out of pocket to repair. As a military veteran and home buyer I both expected and hoped for better oversight and monitoring. We veterans operate via word of mouth and when we communicate and recommend companies or organizations we all trust in each others word and advice. I really wanted to share great recommendations regarding Desert [name removed] but all I can do at this moment is tell them the truth about my own experiences and show them what I have experienced. I truly feel that Desert [name removed] is a good company that wants to produce quality homes for customers like myself, but unfortunately the mark has been missed with my build. I can only hope that Desert [name removed] hires a quality and control team to inspect work done by subcontractors a lot of these errors can be prevented and more customers would be excited and happy with the work and home they purchase. No one wants to spend almost half a million dollars only to have to continue to invest more out of their own pocket to right wrongs done by the builder/subcontractor.

The time that representatives took to explain things such as the process, loan info, warranty info, walk thru inspection, and the communication throughout the process.

Greetings I would like to add the sales manager was delightful, knowledgeable and made me feel confident going in. I did have questions about the sizes of the living room before the drywall went up he made me assured the it may look small now but I will see the width when it comes to the finish and he was right after applying my furniture into the area. My walk through was on point but after moving in I then found out that I had no space in the bathroom for all my cosmetic, bathroom solutions etc…. Very disappointed in having no extra space to put in drawers for these items.

The employees of the warranty team were unprofessional when it came to our water leak caused by installation error of the stucco people. They didn’t take the issue serious and other repairs that were brought up

It takes a while to set up appointments to get things fixed. After moving in I noticed that not enough grout was put into the floor leaving airbubbles and causing to to crumble. It looks even like the grout mixture wasnt balanced. I also noticed that I had a water leak in the attic because a pipe wasnt properly installed which allowed the AC condensation water to flow into the attic down a wall instead of the drain pan. It looks like things were rushed in the house.

I love my home and the quiet area that we are located in. I like the floor plan and how easily the energy flows. It has been relatively simple to care for it, for now. I was not happy with the lack of care that was given to my home when delivered. The house was not cleaned up for delivery. I had to do the clean up myself. Our yard was not well leveled and had holes by the back walls.
