Our salesman, [name removed] told us that we would have a walk through prior to closing and the walk through was never scheduled. We had a meeting with a customer service representative after closing for an orientation. We expressed concerns that we were never scheduled a walk through prior to closing on items that needed warranty service, and we were told that do not worry, just submit a warranty request. We trusted [name removed] View Homes to keep their word. We had a warranty service scheduled in July and the subcontractors were shown the areas of concern. We had another warranty scheduled for 8/18/2020, and only the plumber showed up and the only thing he took care of was disconnecting the hot water line to our refrigerator and reconnecting the icemaker line to the cold water distribution piping. We now have a hole in the ceiling of the mud room and no one has called to schedule fixing the hole in the ceiling. We paid over $20,000 for upgrades and we are very disappointed not only in the quality of the finish work but the attitude of those concerned with warranty service.

The finish such as the tile roof, drywall, paint, rough and trim carpentry, plumbing and electrical work are somewhat substandard. I received a lot of push back on items with statements such as not under warranty and have spent about $500.00 to make repairs. The only pending repairs which will be an additional expense is the painting touch ups and drywall repairs. I must state that [name removed], [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] are exceptional in their collective efforts to take cake of most of the items. Great employees, and outstanding employees.

My walk thru items were not ever addressed because of COVID, so when we asked warranty to come and take care of them they refused.

We paid cash and they let us fall through the cracks. Never had a walk through because of Covid, so didn't fix the stuff that was messed up when we moved in. Wanted us to do it under a warranty claim.

As a person, they seem great. However, when it comes to warranty work it seems like they try to get out of anything they can. This is a brand new house and I have a terrible spot on the ceiling that they call a "flashing." It looks awful, it looks like a water spot and I'm sure it will cause concern when we go to sell. Warranty said they will attempt to fix it, but there's no guarantee and it will often look worse. How is that acceptable for a new house? All warranty says is "builders binding agreement" over and over. (The builders binding agreement also doesn't address anything about drywall other than cracks, this isn't a crack. Or at least that’s the section warranty likes to point out.) That’s not what a new homeowner who just spent 260k on a NEW house wants to hear, nor should they. When we bought we were assured if there were issues they would be fixed. Additionally, our front door was off by over a half inch, meaning it was visibly crooked. [name removed] did a good job trying to fix it, but its still off by a quarter inch. It's less noticeable, but seriously? This is the front door to the house, the FRONT DOOR. The center point of the house when family, guest, and others visit, and everyone notices it.
