They didn’t have good drainage around the house. I asked about it while the house was being built, but they refused to do it and now I have to pay out of pocket.

The house was not cleaned well. Upon moving in there was an abundance of dust in construction areas that their should not have been, crumbs in microwaves, stains in the bathtub, and a dirty shower and drawers. There were roaches upon moving in. To a brand new house. Extra money has had to be spent to treat a home I had not lived in yet and will still need to be treated. Some of the closing items that should have been fixed were not done well such as the weather stripping which had to be eventually be taken care of by home warranty. There were also items that were damaged while workers repaired others like the bathtub being scratched up and paint drippings on doors and damaged molding. In addition to this, the grass was a constant pain and I’m still nervous that it will not take. That being said, the home warranty and associates have been AMAZING! Everyone has been really nice, the sales managers and builder included. The home is beautiful and I love it but currently I am not entirely sure I would recommend Legend to another potential buyer as of yet.

I dislike how horrible the quality of the work is. The painting looks like it was done by an 8 year old, the caulking is horrific, many corners were cut. When people come out to fix something under warranty 9 times out of 10 they mess something else up. The painters drip paint on the floor and don't clean it up. The nails in the hardiplank aren't puttied before painted. Just cheap work. I will NOT be recommending this company to anyone I know looking for a home. The appliances, specifically the oven, that came with the house - I upgraded to SS - are horrible. My son burnt his hand on the HANDLE of the oven and I was told that "children shouldn't be in the kitchen," nevermind that they tempertaure of the handle was above 120 degrees. The floorplan needs to be changed - my fridge can't even open 90 degrees because of the wall.

As a first time home buyer, I was super excited when my realtor showed us this floor plan from this builder. It was everything we wanted and in our price range. That was the beginning of our disastrous experience. We talked to the sales consultant about the home we wanted and he showed us two lots to choose from. We chose a lot and made the first of 3 earnest deposits. Immediately after the deposit, we got a call informing us that the lot we picked and made the deposit on was already taken and that we have to take the other lot. We hesitated a bit because we didn’t trust that they waited until we paid them to inform us that the lot was no longer available. Our realtor assure us that she worked with them in the past and that everything will be fine. Little did we know that we should have walked away at that time. We didn’t walk away cause we fell in love with the floor plan. We signed the contract in January. Made 3 payments, in January, February, and March. The house was supposed to be ready in June of 2022. The first 3 months of the year, there were no updates on the house. Then in April, we received a text from [name removed] saying that she was taking over the contract and the construction manager [name removed] will provide her some updates weekly that she will share us. The updates came and sometimes it was a lie. We caught them on their lies a few times. They refused to give us a estimated closing date. When our realtor reached out to [name removed], the area manager, about our concerns, [name removed] did not step up to hold her team accountable. She was rude to our realtor on the phone. Our realtor found the CEO’s info and reached out about our concerns. When the issue was brought to the CEO's attention, [name removed] called our realtor and told her that she was sorry that our realtor took what she said incorrectly. No genuine apology or accountability in her behavior. This is just heartbreaking. The CEO assigned the VP to handle our concerns and he promised that everything will be ready and that we will move in by the date they provided. The VP and our realtor negotiated for Legend [name removed] to provide us $11K towards our closing costs that will help buy the interest rates down to what it was in the summer. However [name removed] didn’t address the issues from our first and 2nd walks. He told us that he will fix everything from our third party inspector’s report except for 1 thing and all of those things were not address. On the day of closing, we went to walk the house one more time before heading out, and the issues were still not addressed. My realtor once again reached out to the VP and provided them a list of things that need to be addressed before closing. [name removed] once again said that he addressed everything but that was still a lie. Closing was scheduled for 11/10, I had surgery scheduled for 11/15 that was going to put me out for about 3 weeks. We ended up closing on 11/14. Now we are in the house and we need to submit the warranty request for them to come fix the urgent stuff such as the drainage in the backyard not working properly, the privacy door knob for the master bathroom being switched with the garage door knob that needs a key to unlock, the bathrooms not having towel holders and racks, and toilet paper holders. I’m just in disbelief of the lack of professionalism. This was the worst home buying experience of our life and this was our only experience. Needless to say, we know who to stay clear of for our next home buying experience.

In my experience, I feel these house are getting build so fast that their workers omits house details. The day before my closing day I drove by the house and not a si gel item that was discussed on the walks was addressed. It was headache after headache and for this reason I wouldn’t recommend Legend Homes to family or friends.

Most of it was good. The issue is with how poor the drainage is in the back yard. It is always a swamp, and nothing drains out. Rough with the big dogs. Any other issues that were found have been dressed right away. I was disappointed that I was not told about the few months the pool is open. We live in the [name removed]. Warranty service ([name removed]) has been fantastic, with that said, the people being sent over and over to fix the same problem is tiresome. The paint cannot be matched when they do touch ups either from where they fixed something they repaired, or from the original paint job not being done properly. The electricians that have been sent out to fix things out of their control have been amazing and very knowledgeable. The people doing the subfloor warranty work (except the last crew) need more OJT… as for the original build of the house, the 2x12’s between the floor joists that were (where the floor was fixed) and probably are throughout the rest of the house improperly installed, is a quality of workmanship issue for the builder! *improperly installed— not square with subfloor, only attached to joists on two sides instead of all four causing the subfloor to squeak when walking over it.

I love our home and neighborhood. However once I signed for the build the sales person went from wanting to give us the world to nothing. My personal inspection from a inspector found many issues, some of which I had to fight to get fixed before move it. I liked the layout and materials of the home. I did not like how many repairs had to be done, especially the appliances. Both my refrigerator and my dishwasher had to be repaired or replaced within the year. I also did not like how difficult the sprinkler system is to operate, and I had a lot of trouble with getting my garage door opener replaced, despite the fact that I had it installed with the same company that installed the door.

Firstly the reason we came to legend because we liked the particular floorplan and we wanted to modify a few things to accommodate what we wanted we were told we couldn’t change anything because the floor plans were with the city that was in November 2021 the house had not started construction Which we found out later was a lie not only that we didn’t close on our house until August 30 2022 And we were trying to renew our lease at the time so we went based off of the projections given to us By your representatives so in order to create a cushion of space just in case the projections were off we added an extra month onto our lease so we set up a closing out date on our lease of June 22 when we were told the house would close in May and that still was incorrect so we ended up having to rent a place to live at a hotel the pushback process on this house occurred five times also the defects that we found during the walk-throughs were not completely remedied the floors were not level and they’re still not level we had to speak with the warranty people to see if they can fix that the toilet is leaning as a result the cabinets were coming apart and still are coming apart the doors in the bathroom do not lock because of a defect with the door knobs and our grass is dead the sprinklers they’re not straight some of them are poking into the grass so they don’t come out of the ground correctly there were gaps in the siding of the house that we found after we closed on the house that they had to come out and fix the quality of the home that was provided to us is not what we expected what was even worse is one of the builders name [name removed] lied to us and told us that there was nothing else that could be done with our floor because it was within acceptable standards when the warranty department came out they determined it was not within acceptable standards so to say the least now the experience was not a good one not only that there were a lot of bricks and rocks in our backyard which were supposed to be cleaned up when we came to the closing the bricks weren’t in the backyard that I can agree however they appear to have been buried in the backyard and I know this because since no grass is Provider in the backyard we were trying to get the weeds out of the yard to put grass in and some possible hedges back there so upon getting the weeds out as when we started finding all of these bricks and stones which is just poor craftsmanship and lazy and as a result my wife and I will never buy a new home again whether we purchase or not and this is not our first new build we have purchased but I know it will not be built by anyone it will be already standing and we will definitely not chose a legend home we were disgusted with the entire experience sadly there was a ton more to say but this is already a extremely long response

The construction superintendent ([name removed]) lied in the weekly meeting and said my home (as well as others) was ready for closing. The home was not ready, but Legend Homes closed anyway. Legend Homes stepped back and let me figure out what was outstanding in the slop they handed over to me. From small details such as paint, caulk, and stain, to large details such as the air conditioning unit not being hooked up, the dishwasher not being secured, the stove/oven sitting in the middle of the room, the roof leaking through down to my first floor due to the vents not being properly installed. I live every day wondering what slop I am going to find next.

Our experience as first-time homebuyers is an absolute nightmare with Legend Homes. We pushed close 4 times and had A TON of work to be completed after closing. I'm extremely disappointed with this company and how our situation was handled. After speaking with several neighbors on our street, it appears we all share the same thoughts. I had such high expectations, but the day we closed and the sales agent told us to pick up our key at the sales office by ourselves because no one was around to assist, I knew we were in trouble!! We will never buy from Legend Homes and we will not recommend anyone to buy from Legend Homes.

Very bad experience in purchasing a new home, let alone a house that that cost over $200,000. Just slop. This house was not ready to close. There were many outstanding issues, some of which I may not find until it is too late. The construction superintendent, [name removed], actually sat in a meeting and told the team that this and other houses were ready to close when in actuality the construction was not to that point. During the walk throughs, this man would jot down the items to be addressed, and I swear [name removed] would throw those notes in a pile and never look at them again. A full audit needs to be completed by Legend Homes, an inspection of the home itself as well as a checklist of what the homeowner should have received. Stop asking me what I think is wrong, I am not an inspector or a construction expert. Some of the worst examples: the a/c was not hooked up when I moved in due to the a/c company never being called back out to complete the work. (item dropped by [name removed] from what I understand) The stove was in the middle of the kitchen floor, damaged and vandalized. (that damaged stove was moved from the house next door for some reason) Sloppy finish work from the backdoor threshold not being secured down, to the globs under the paint in areas. The windows had not even been measured for the blinds that [name removed] said would be installed the Friday after closing; it took two more weeks for the blinds to be installed. The roof leaked due to the venting not being properly sealed, the first time there was a real rain, water leaked through the first floor ceiling. (this is a two story house) There is more, but this should give you an idea. Some smaller items: "accidentally" finding out there should have been a coupon for paint to touch up items, the backyard fence gate, when closed, has a gap that increasingly gets wider towards the bottom (good thing I do not have a small dog), getting a call from the a/c people to put the stove back in place five months after the task had been completed in the first place; they said the ticket must have been left open. (five months?) Some of the homeowners that closed around my time, 03/24/2021, have had gatherings in the street to vent about how disappointing and horrifying buying from Legend Homes has been. I have a notebook with the details of my personal experience. Would you like a list? E-mail ladams5@hotmail.com or call 832-453-5826. I would like to thank [name removed] in sales, [name removed] in North Area Management, and [name removed] in North Area Sales & Marketing for seeming to be truly concerned and trying to make the situation right.

Move in was a terrible experience. Builder didn't do any of the edits he was supposed to prior to move in. Legend didn't have keys for me when I got to the community after closing - then they were just handed to me and the guy left. Quality of the build is poor and everything has been a fight since then. Literally, Legend only started taking action to remedy when I threatened litigation and cited legal precedent.

Our experience with the warranty service has been an absolute nightmare. We started filing claims with [name removed] for the first two months after closing in February 2020. Then we were advised to submit all the warranty claims again through the website, even though we had already filed with them with [name removed]. Then we were assigned [name removed] in early June and he came in with a crew and knocked out most of the major claims in one day. The rest of our claims were a hit and miss throughout the remainder of June/July. The worst part about the warranty service is getting a time/date when contractors will arrive at our home. There were all types of contractors knocking on our door in the morning/afternoon and we had no idea what they were scheduled to repair that day. Almost all contractors did NOT speak English so it was EXTREMELY hard to communicate with them. Overall, I would not recommend Legend Homes to anyone!!

lack of proper communication, failure to tell us no grass would be installed, not even notified until the first walk though at the end of the process, lack of ability to properly clean the property of any trash debree and then just tossed front yard grass on top of all the trash. again lack of communication, failure to notify that closing date at title office was moved the day we showed up to close we were told by our agent after we pulled up at the closing office that they had us scheduled for the following day but was never told anything. poor management, poor communication. poor property management. and poor customer service. and based on the online community of our area everyone else is in the same boat. our entire street did not get grass in their back yards either.

Liked? More of dislikes than anything, Lack of communication! Claims have been sent multiple times, phone calls made and absolutely nothing for months! Ive had ONE claim out of multiple addressed and still issues with what was “supposedly fixed”. We were briefed within 72 hours we will be contacted for any claims and that is 100% inaccurate, We the customer have to find ways to contact other departments to get answers. I have spoke to other neighbors and they too have the same issue, seems as if they’re trying to let time pass so it is not their issue anymore, VERY unreliable service for something we have paid for.

The original agent I worked with through Legend, Marcus Smith, made many up front commitments and blatant lies that were never followed through. Initially he told me, twice, in front of my real estate agent that the back yard fence would be up around the front of the home, this large back/side yard was the biggest selling point to me for this home and what made me sign the deal that day. I was disappointed to later find out the fence would not come up around the side and he acted as if he never said that. In addition, he told me I would have to do the landscaping to the backyard myself, I later found out I could have added that to the build but he said that was not possible. I was glad to find out he was no longer with Legend homes and all communication with Jill was honest and expedited. Additionally, upon moving into the home I have noticed many things that seem to have been thrown together. I've had 3 kitchen cabinets fall off and had to fix them. The hand rail on the stairs were not properly secured and I had to reattached that. In addition to that, the paint on the interior of the home was done so sloppily that there are over paintings on the baseboard throughout the home. It just seems that there was not care taken when this home was built and it was thrown together quickly.

Closing date was moved to almost 6 months. First walk through was done and things to be corrected/fix was noted, then came the final walk through nothing was corrected/fix. Corrections was only done before the awarding and still some remains undone.

lack of proper communication, failure to tell us no grass would be installed, not even notified until the first walk though at the end of the process, lack of ability to properly clean the property of any trash debree and then just tossed front yard grass on top of all the trash. again lack of communication, failure to notify that closing date at title office was moved the day we showed up to close we were told by our agent after we pulled up at the closing office that they had us scheduled for the following day but was never told anything. poor management, poor communication. poor property management. and poor customer service. and based on the online community of our area everyone else is in the same boat. our entire street did not get grass in their back yards either.
