Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

Overall, it's mostly positive. [name removed] does his best to respond to our concerns. The issue we have the most is the toilets. Although, the plumbers did what they think is best to resolve our concern, it has not been completely resolved. We continue to have an odor issue with the main bedroom toilet odor. Just today, I noticed the flooring is not steady. There is another crack from one of the floors next to the first plank that was replaced. I'm getting tired of the on-going problem and I will have to contact the warranty manager([name removed]) again, not to mention the sprinkler problem.

Throughout the house, mainly where the vent covers are there's white paint on the tan walls and ceilings, the caulking job is the worst I've ever seen, the fridge and washing machine are extremely noisy and the back fence is horrible. Aside from those things,...oh yeah and there are nails sticking up on both window seats (alot of nails). But those things aside the house is great.

The AC outdoor unit is loud and noise passed into the interior. The wall should be made of bricks to absorb the excessive vibration of AC compressor.

Everything was smooth and easy. The house was in great shape. However, there were a couple things that were supposed to be addressed before move in that they only pretended to address, like a cap in the cupboard next to the stove. It was supposed to be secured to the wall. It was just set to look secured there in order to fool me.

I dislike everything about my experience with Legend homes from the building process which did not allow us the opportunity to customize our home as we saw fit because your sales agent at the time lied to us. To the delays in the building process, and the continuous lies about what was happening during the building process. It was not until someone else took over the building of our home that the job is able to get done. I can say the one bright spot in this was the warranty department, which did help tremendously, and repairing the numerous mistakes that occurred during the building process. Sadly, we took full advantage of the warranty department, because there were so many things that needed to be replaced, and repaired in every category of the home. We were asked if we would recommend legends to anyone I would not. Even outside the home with the sprinkler systems were poorly installed and in some cases covered with grass some very noticeably sticking out of the ground and the land was not even out so some parts of the front yard goes up and down “hill-ly” and the lack of grass in the backyard was made to be a dumping ground for your construction team so there’s nothing but rocks and debris in the backyard which were not very well hidden by the way. I shouldn’t dig in my backyard and find siding for the home, bricks for the home and trash consistently. I had to have about 20 bags of trash removed from my backyard. The whole experience was a no for my wife and I and we will never build another home again and never purchase anything from Legend Homes again.

Functionality of home is a bit weird. Doors and appliances opening on each other. One of my stairs feel like it’s missing wood in the center. The grass in the back is bad. The back porch slab is uneven. It is my first home so now I’m using it as a lesson for my future home. My house is still a very capable home and I’m satisfied with what I have, but there are some obvious opportunities after moving in that I’ve discovered.

I somewhat disliked the lack of attention to detail when the house was painted. I feel like the painting and the caulking could've been done better. I had to retouch many things upon moving in. I understand no one is perfect but putting forth that extra attention to detail would separate legend homes from other builders in my opinion.

I feel there wasn't the proper level of care put into the construction of my home. The quantity of homes produced seems to take precedent over quality. Issues that I addressed with the superintendent, Jeff Vance, prior to moving in were brushed aside and now causing issues that are being tended to. These things could have been resolved prior to move in and not impose such a burden on me to be home and take time off work to allow for the repairs.

The houses are build like XXXXX . No one calls you back from the warranty department the builder was a jackass. Michael in the model home was a stuck up jerk. After we paid for the 2nd inspection to only find out they didn’t repair anything and no one would take responsibility for it or pay for the next inspection to be done once the work was done… I have waiting months for repairs to get done. Only to be told I had no open tickets… but I had all the emails that they were submitted…. Had Jeremy replace my master bathroom tile only one wall… with smaller tile. To try to pull one over on me. Then waiting weeks again once I called him on it. Only to get told oh he needs to come see it again to see what the problem is..then he get there and is like yeah it looks like XXXXX . Now waiting again to get it replaced… if I could do it over again I wouldn’t buy from you. Nothing has been pleasant or easy and everyone is disappointing. I have had workers leave in the middle of the repairs to not come back. I just want the 255,000 plus house to be done right and repaired correctly.. can you do that???

I dislike how horrible the quality of the work is. The painting looks like it was done by an 8 year old, the caulking is horrific, many corners were cut. When people come out to fix something under warranty 9 times out of 10 they mess something else up. The painters drip paint on the floor and don't clean it up. The nails in the hardiplank aren't puttied before painted. Just cheap work. I will NOT be recommending this company to anyone I know looking for a home. The appliances, specifically the oven, that came with the house - I upgraded to SS - are horrible. My son burnt his hand on the HANDLE of the oven and I was told that "children shouldn't be in the kitchen," nevermind that they tempertaure of the handle was above 120 degrees. The floorplan needs to be changed - my fridge can't even open 90 degrees because of the wall.

The house was not cleaned well. Upon moving in there was an abundance of dust in construction areas that their should not have been, crumbs in microwaves, stains in the bathtub, and a dirty shower and drawers. There were roaches upon moving in. To a brand new house. Extra money has had to be spent to treat a home I had not lived in yet and will still need to be treated. Some of the closing items that should have been fixed were not done well such as the weather stripping which had to be eventually be taken care of by home warranty. There were also items that were damaged while workers repaired others like the bathtub being scratched up and paint drippings on doors and damaged molding. In addition to this, the grass was a constant pain and I’m still nervous that it will not take. That being said, the home warranty and associates have been AMAZING! Everyone has been really nice, the sales managers and builder included. The home is beautiful and I love it but currently I am not entirely sure I would recommend Legend to another potential buyer as of yet.

As a first time home buyer, I was super excited when my realtor showed us this floor plan from this builder. It was everything we wanted and in our price range. That was the beginning of our disastrous experience. We talked to the sales consultant about the home we wanted and he showed us two lots to choose from. We chose a lot and made the first of 3 earnest deposits. Immediately after the deposit, we got a call informing us that the lot we picked and made the deposit on was already taken and that we have to take the other lot. We hesitated a bit because we didn’t trust that they waited until we paid them to inform us that the lot was no longer available. Our realtor assure us that she worked with them in the past and that everything will be fine. Little did we know that we should have walked away at that time. We didn’t walk away cause we fell in love with the floor plan. We signed the contract in January. Made 3 payments, in January, February, and March. The house was supposed to be ready in June of 2022. The first 3 months of the year, there were no updates on the house. Then in April, we received a text from [name removed] saying that she was taking over the contract and the construction manager [name removed] will provide her some updates weekly that she will share us. The updates came and sometimes it was a lie. We caught them on their lies a few times. They refused to give us a estimated closing date. When our realtor reached out to [name removed], the area manager, about our concerns, [name removed] did not step up to hold her team accountable. She was rude to our realtor on the phone. Our realtor found the CEO’s info and reached out about our concerns. When the issue was brought to the CEO's attention, [name removed] called our realtor and told her that she was sorry that our realtor took what she said incorrectly. No genuine apology or accountability in her behavior. This is just heartbreaking. The CEO assigned the VP to handle our concerns and he promised that everything will be ready and that we will move in by the date they provided. The VP and our realtor negotiated for Legend [name removed] to provide us $11K towards our closing costs that will help buy the interest rates down to what it was in the summer. However [name removed] didn’t address the issues from our first and 2nd walks. He told us that he will fix everything from our third party inspector’s report except for 1 thing and all of those things were not address. On the day of closing, we went to walk the house one more time before heading out, and the issues were still not addressed. My realtor once again reached out to the VP and provided them a list of things that need to be addressed before closing. [name removed] once again said that he addressed everything but that was still a lie. Closing was scheduled for 11/10, I had surgery scheduled for 11/15 that was going to put me out for about 3 weeks. We ended up closing on 11/14. Now we are in the house and we need to submit the warranty request for them to come fix the urgent stuff such as the drainage in the backyard not working properly, the privacy door knob for the master bathroom being switched with the garage door knob that needs a key to unlock, the bathrooms not having towel holders and racks, and toilet paper holders. I’m just in disbelief of the lack of professionalism. This was the worst home buying experience of our life and this was our only experience. Needless to say, we know who to stay clear of for our next home buying experience.

Overall, it's mostly positive. [name removed] does his best to respond to our concerns. The issue we have the most is the toilets. Although, the plumbers did what they think is best to resolve our concern, it has not been completely resolved. We continue to have an odor issue with the main bedroom toilet odor. My roof is still leaking and a piece of siding fell off my home . I told my customer service rep and he took no action, just closed the homeowner satisfaction ticket.

The warranty has been difficult to deal with. The 2nd contact person has been nice, however we have distrust with Legends so we spend money to have an outside inspection done.

The AC outdoor unit is loud and noise passed into the interior. The wall should be made of bricks to absorb the excessive vibration of AC compressor.

The whole experience was a no for my wife and I and we will never build another home again and never purchase anything from Legend Homes again.

poor communication and follow up with warranty issues. i would submit a request, but there would be weeks between contact and a few times I would have to re-submit and start the process over again.

They didn’t have good drainage around the house. I asked about it while the house was being built, but they refused to do it and now I have to pay out of pocket.

In my experience, I feel these house are getting build so fast that their workers omits house details. The day before my closing day I drove by the house and not a si gel item that was discussed on the walks was addressed. It was headache after headache and for this reason I wouldn’t recommend Legend Homes to family or friends.

I love our home and neighborhood. However once I signed for the build the sales person went from wanting to give us the world to nothing. My personal inspection from a inspector found many issues, some of which I had to fight to get fixed before move it. [name removed] of our biggest issues, was the downstairs thermostat was in the wrong spot. I wanted it moved before we closed the sales guy was giving me the run around. Was treated as if I was stupid. Overall I love my house, however I had a horrible purchasing experience
