I appreciate my request for new sod in my backyard being granted and actioned, however the process of how to properly care for new sod was not discussed with me and now I’m at risk for loosing the sod. I was not told that new sod needs to be soaked for about 30 mins. No one asked about my watering schedule or explained how much and how often new sod should be watered. Also, there are large gaps in between the sections of the sods. Speaking with professional lawn care specialists, after the fact, I was told the sod should have been rolled out or filled in to prevent the roots from drying out. I am now trying to educate myself on bringing sod back from a stressed state because I unknowingly wasn’t watering it enough. I believe this all could have been avoided over a 5 minute conversation between the builder and myself or whoever the builder hired and myself. This has become a very disappointing and stressful situation for me.
