We like that they give good incentives for purchasing the home. We like that they are proactive to fix the issues. They are likely to come and fix some minor issues like patching dry-wall holes, repainting, etc. However, it is expected that it would take some period of time to coordinate for the right people to come in and fix the issues (less than 2 weeks). We have the home for about 2 months now, and see that the quality of the house is fairly good. We notice that the house has good insulation that keeps the temperature cool inside.

What I like the most is the follow up of care about any issues that arise from our newly purchased home. I also like the Risewell Homes portal where I can find important information about our home and report repair services. It's very organized. What I dislike the most about our home is the quality of appliances. For the premium price we paid, I would have expected [name removed] or New [name removed] Co to install a higher quality dishwasher and microwave. These models were the cheapest models almost a decade ago with our experience of being in the market for kitchen appliances. We also bought a house a few years ago that gave us better quality kitchen appliances so this experience is a downgrade.

Overall, the purchase experience was smooth. The contract process was clear and efficient. What I appreciated most was the reliable after-sales support during move-in and handover—they responded quickly and helped solve issues in a timely manner. There wasn’t much I disliked; the whole process from contract to move-in was well-organized.

I like how easy the process was, everything is easy and straightforward. Staffs are all very nice to work with.

Working through the contract was fairly simple. Katrina Nguyen was great to work with. Unfortunately, the quality of the work throughout the house was very poorly done. Quality control was definitely not on their list of priorities. Trim work was poorly done, stucco has lots of spots that were not covered or broken off. Drawers throughout do not pull out evenly or smooth. Kitchen was not painted in satin or semi gloss. It was painted with flat paint the rug that had been replaced in the upstairs and on the staircase was poorly installed. Loose and misaligned patterns in the rug throughout and lots of gaps between the baseboard and rug. Stains on counters in the bathrooms. I’m sure many more issues will arise throughout the first year.

Katrina was great! Didn’t feel upsold on anything and she understood what I was looking for. Checking in on construction was easy and I felt it was for the most part a transparent process. The lender was a disaster. It often took multiple tries to get each question I had answered, my loan officer disappeared without notice and I had to proactively reach out to ULC to get information about what was happening, and I suspect the loan officer handover resulted in a much higher interest rate than I was going to get with the original officer since a discount I was offered in writing by the original officer was not honored in the way I understood it. They also did not keep good records about my file and I had to tell them the same biographical information many times over the phone and in writing which slowed down the process. Felt uncaring, sloppy, rushed, uninformed. I felt frustrated with the lender nearly every interaction in the two months leading up to closing.

Living far from the new home, we truly appreciated how she helped us feel involved every step of the way. She was proactive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. When she learned about upcoming tax changes, she promptly informed us, ensuring there would be no surprises later. Even after she had been reassigned to other properties, Kristin continued to support us without hesitation, guiding us through the final stages of the process with the same care and commitment. One of the most critical moments came when there was a delay and miscommunication between our lender and the title company. Kristin quickly stepped in to coordinate communication between all parties—us, our mortgage broker, and the title company—and played a key role in ensuring that we still closed on time. Her dedication, responsiveness, and genuine care truly exceeded expectations. It was an absolute pleasure working with her, and we’re so grateful for everything she did to help us into our new home. -------------------------- Derek was incredibly helpful during our final walkthrough before closing. He was thorough and attentive, taking diligent notes on all the items that needed to be addressed. His follow-up with the construction crew was prompt and effective—he ensured that everything was taken care of both before and after closing. What stood out most was his depth of knowledge, down to the smallest details—he even knew the exact shade of paint used in a specific room! Derek’s professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to making sure everything was just right gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciated his support and dedication during such an important time.
