Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

The agents in the office [name removed] and [name removed] always knew us by name, even before we ever decided to buy. We still see them in the neighborhood and they always wave and say hello, addressing us by name. I appreciated the walk through with [name removed] to show us the home features. Our lender, [name removed], was very reassuring when we felt overwhelmed with nerves.

The process was fairly straightforward. There were some questions that I had going through the process that I believe the lender could have been a little more clear on. They mentioned that I needed to get insurance prior to closing but failed to let me know that the policy was supposed to be effective the day before closing and not on closing day. This made the process of letting our insurance know to change the date frustrating. Regarding house to home, [name removed] was amazing to work with. She was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the home. She made us feel like we mattered, and weren’t just another buyer checked off the list. However, the process to address issues with the home by the builder leave a lot to be desired. This is especially true regarding our primary shower pan. Shortly after moving into our home and after using the primary shower, we noticed a spot on our shower pan that flexed severely. Looking at it closely it was about an 8 inch circle where the pan was flexing. There were 3 cracks around where this flexed. After submitting a warranty claim through the portal, [name removed] had [name removed] from [name removed] plumbing come out to make their assessment. He noticed what I was talking about and advised that the pan is defective. He explained that even with a repair done the pan is not going to be 100%. I agreed based on how it felt and looked. Some time after, MJ Shower and Tub repair was sent out, when I was under the impression the pan would be replaced as advised by [name removed] plumbing. Instead MJ did a really poor quality repair. The texture was hardly there in the pan anymore, and it was a blotchy finish. Additionally there was paint left on the metal shower door trim and lint in the paint they used in the pan. The worst part is that we used the shower after and I almost slipped and fell because of how slick the pan was with water. Also, there is a 6 inch pool of water where the pan flexed prior that doesn’t drain like the rest of the pan does. I explained this and was advised to use one of our other showers until an appointment can be made to see the issue. It was about 2 weeks before anyone came out to see. This time it was the whole team. [name removed], MJ and [name removed]. They explained they wanted to attempt an additional repair which I was not in agreement with. [name removed] plumbing already explained the pan was defective and warranted full replacement. [name removed] explained they would get back to me on this. So now I am still waiting for an answer and cannot use our primary shower. I do not want another botched repair, but just to have a new pan with no issues. This is highly disappointing and I feel like I am getting the run-around because risewell wants to save a few dollars. Because of this, it is difficult to recommend risewell as a builder since the warranty is handled so poorly. I am worried that I won’t be helped how we need it, and that we will injure ourselves slipping on the repair MJ did. I am also worried that this will become a consumer affairs issue, a route I’d like to avoid. I would also like to speak to [name removed]’s manager, not about her, because she has been great, but about this whole process. I feel like we aren’t actually being helped to the extent that we are warranted.

Overall, I had a very positive experience from contract through move-in. The process was smooth, communication was good, everyone was very friendly, and the home was in great condition at move-in. Any minor issues that came up were addressed, and overall I was very happy with the experience.

The whole process was pretty easy. I loved working with [name removed], he was informative, friendly, and patient. I really felt like I was in good hands with [name removed] and that he was going to make our dream come true (which he did). Working with [name removed] as the loan officer was great, I leaned a lot from him. And lastly working with [name removed] was amazing, she really cares about the customers and you about how the home works.

I appreciated the reps responding to me quickly when I had a question. Glad you had docusign since I lived in another town. Money transfer was done without a hitch! Everyone was pleasant to work with. I didn't like the fact that I could not upgrade the carpets to the color I like, the density or the pad thickness.

[name removed] was able to clarify everything before signing and made it as easy as possible, [name removed] was always available for any questions I had throughout the loan process and even just checked in on occasion to make sure I wasn’t worried. [name removed] thoroughly went through all the features of my home with me and let me know he’s always available in case anything breaks down.

I really like the process. It was so smooth. They were so cooperating and helpful throughout the process whenever I had any questions, they always reply me very soon specially [name removed], the loan lady. She was just awesome the way she helped with each and every question made me very smooth and heaven to buy the house from Risewell. [name removed] was equally a lovely lady. She was so quick to reply. Recently we had a few issues in our home and I emailed her and within like few minutes she replied me back, and however, I have opened the tickets on the official site, but she was like so knowledgeable so good to talk so positive.
