The overall experience was decent. The salesperson and mortgage team were great—special thanks to [name removed], who was amazing throughout the entire mortgage process. However, I did face a few issues with additional costs that I believe should have been covered by the builder. For example, I had to pay for carpet cleaning, some towel hangers were missing from the bathrooms, and the kitchen dustbin holder is placed in an inconvenient spot near the cooking and food storage area. Additionally, the kitchen sink is too shallow, which causes water to spill when washing dishes, and the bedroom doors are missing locks.

Significant difficulty in getting follow upon home repairs and lack of communication

Issues have come up after the home purchase that have taken multiple emails and calls to get fixed. There is a Communication breakdown between the homeowner, the warranty rep and the contractors. The sales time was awesome during the purchase of the house. The paint inside and outside of the house seems like it’s single coat, the flooring has air pockets, the bathroom doors have a very small gap at the bottom so putting a floor mat around the toilet is impossible, there was no rain gutter put on the side of the California room so all the water just rains down the side of the roof into the California room. These are just a few of the issues I have dealt with and noticed.

I can’t say this strongly enough: if I ever buy another home and see this lender attached, I’ll walk away immediately. If you asked toddlers to run a mortgage company, they’d do a better job. Months went by before I could even get someone on the phone. They kept bouncing me from one rep to another, losing paperwork at every step. Even after closing, I’m still chasing them for documents. To be clear: I love the home you built. I’d recommend you to anyone. But I cannot in good conscience recommend you as long as you’re tied to this lender. Cynthia even told me my contact was “one of the good ones.” If that’s true, I don’t see how most buyers would even make it to closing. The only reason my loan moved forward at all was because I escalated to their head office in Colorado. I seriously questioned whether the $21k incentive was worth the nightmare. This lender is the absolute worst. Unqualified, unprofessional, and impossible to work with. If you care about your buyers, cut ties with them. Fire your lender.

Multiple fixes brought up during walk through were either not followed up on, followed up on but not resolved completely, or in one case contractors were sent unannounced, did not speak any English, so my wife couldn't understand what they had come to work on. Our original customer service person [name removed] apparently is no longer our customer service person. Everyone has been very friendly but communication has been lacking and actual follow through on concerns has been hit or miss.

The agents during the process were excellent. After closing escrow and attempting to work with getting several structural and cosmetic issues it became very challenging. The customer care representative is difficult to get a hold of. His email responses are inconsistent , he does not answer his phone, and he does not respond to voicemails. Even at this time we are still waiting to hear back in regards to several outstanding issues with our home.

All the New Home Co. staff from sales ([name removed], [name removed], [name removed]) to service ([name removed], [name removed], [name removed]) have been great to us. They were very welcoming and delightful to work with. We were just disappointment with the build quality of the home. Heating and cooling thermostat were installed incorrectly. Bottom thermostat controls the top floor and top thermostat control the bottom floor. Shower valve in kids bathroom was defective. Paint imperfections through out the house. The kitchen counter have manufacturing defects or residue from production which will need to be buff out or replace. The residue is unacceptable for a home of this caliber. Master bath shower walls have glue stains throughout, which will need to be buff out. Cleaner does not seem to remove the residues. I’m glad most of the minor issues have been resolved. We are now waiting to get kitchen, bathroom, and paint to be touched up.

I like that my husband and i felt supported from the day weve decided to purchase up until right now that its been weeks since we move in. Everybody has been very helpful and easily reachable for any concern that i have especially as a first time homebuyer entering the market on a very unstable home market that everybody is facing right now.
