Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

I am dissatisfied with the electrical in the house. Our kitchen circuit trips daily because I can’t plug in my freezer and fridge at the same time. They told me that the freezer couldn’t go in the garage. When I asked the salesman if I could plug it up inside, he stated I don’t see why not. My expectation is that you can have a freezer in a new house. Very disappointed in that.

Every single person—[name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]—brought genuine excitement and commitment from day one. Step by step, through every part of the home-buying journey, each one went above and beyond. Even after moving in, they’ve remained available, responsive, and supportive. We feel truly happy, grateful, and blessed to have become first time home buyers through such wonderful people.

The home walk-through. It seemed like there was a lot of paint issues that they didn’t wanna bother fixing and didn’t fix.

We were told several things would be done inside the home that weren’t done when we moved in. We agreed to sign off on some papers in the promise that it was gonna get done just so we can move forward with whatever it is the builder needed. However, when we got into the new home, there is still paint issues and other cosmetic things that we had asked to get taken care of that weren’t. On top of all that before we moved into the house the air conditioning unit was completely replaced because of a manufactured defect. However, within one month of been in the home, we find out that it wasn’t installed correctly and it started acting up again and I had to have someone come out and fix it. Overall, we really feel like this is a rush process from the builder sign. The agents that helped us and walk us through Homes were great before we made our purchase were great. However, the build quality seems to be a little lackluster after being in the home for almost 2 months now. And it seems like every week we notice something else that we didn’t notice that’s wrong cosmetically with the house.

I couldn’t believe how fast we went from looking at it to moving in! It was seriously like two weeks. The staff was very courteous, professional, and the builder tended every need that we had even though it was only one issue. [name removed] has followed up with any needs that we have asked about or any concerns that we have questioned. I am a first time home owner and I’ve heard so many horror stories, but experienced zero through this journey.. Thank you very much legend Homes!!????

The purchase went fairly smoothly, it’s just now working the kinks out of the house that were not caught beforehand, most likely because of the excitement.

[name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] were all very helpful and engaging with answering my questions and guiding me throughout the process. I’m grateful for their assistance. The day before I closed I was told by LP Title my closing amount increased by $4 due to an added document. The amount is not the issue, but the fact I already had the cashiers check cut for the first amount and had to pay $15 for another check to be cut just for $4 was an inconvenience. Then I received 2 checks in the mail for $4 and $0.40 after closing. It would’ve been nice if the title company or LEGENDS assumed the $4 increase before I closed. Also, the first week was tough in the home because the AC went out upstairs and it took several days to finally get a new unit. That was not the welcome I was expecting, however [name removed] and ASTAR was very responsive and helpful in getting the issue resolved. I noticed the newer homes being built in the neighborhood are receiving flood lights outside the home and a different brand AC unit. Hopefully those work well for the new home owners. Overall I am very satisfied with my home and the neighborhood.

I like how thorough the builder was when doing the walkthrough. It was the salesperson [name removed], that really captured our hearts and made us feel right at home in the neighborhood before we started the process. He wasn’t pushy but yet friendly and informative in a kind way. Everyone was so helpful throughout the entire process which made for a smooth process for us.

The sales representative. It was the worst experience because I am a first time home buyer and I didn’t expect that kind of treatment. He was very unprofessional. However, overall I love the house and the material.
