No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

I most liked the updates on the status of my home build. Also, the face-to-face contact with the sales personnel and my builder. All issues I have brought up have been fixed. It is easy to contact warranty personnel to get things fixed.

The only concern I had was with a dead spot in the lawn. The landscaper replaced the grass but it turned out it was a sprinkler head that was clogged and not watering the grass. I fixed it myself but someone should have checked that before I found it.

They both went above and beyond to help ensure the purchase was completed smoothly and that all necessary repairs were addressed before closing. Our experience was so positive that we recommended them to our son, who is now in the process of purchasing a home as well.

Our designer, [name removed], did not take notes during our design appointment, and unfortunately, there were several items that were missed as a result. These oversights ultimately affected our experience throughout the building process. I’m very glad that Risewell ultimately made things right, but I do think the design process is an area that could use some improvement. I would strongly consider reevaluating your relationship with the design company, or at a minimum, implementing a process for designers to thoroughly document and summarize each client meeting. Even using AI to help summarize appointments and ensure that all selections and important details are captured could go a long way toward preventing things from being missed for future clients. There were also some smaller details that I feel a more experienced design team may have been able to advise us on proactively. Outlet placement is one example. We ended up with a few outlets in essentially unusable locations, while there are no outlets on our kitchen island. These are the types of functional details that we would have appreciated more guidance on during the design process. That said, we had a GREAT experience with [name removed]. He was incredibly responsive, very helpful, and willing to step in and find solutions in every situation. [name removed] did an excellent job correcting the issues that came out of the design process and was a huge reason we ultimately had a positive building experience. We really appreciated his communication, responsiveness, and willingness to make things right. Overall, we are very happy that [name removed] took ownership of the issues and worked to resolve them. I hope this feedback is helpful as you evaluate the design process, because I think there are some opportunities to make an already good building experience significantly better for future clients.

The Quality of the painting and caulking is poor and not what I expected. My grass has a lot of dead sod and the weeds are coming up from underneath the sod.

Buying process was smooth, I appreciated the fact I could choose to close remotely in Granbury. One hiccup on move in was my refrigerator (Samsung) kept tripping the gfci breaker in kitchen. Would have been helpful to know there was an issue with that brand. Otherwise move in was great. Also the response to small maintenance issues was quick, and handled professionally.

Inspection agreement. One item we wanted completed and done correctly was water drainage issue on the right side of home. Builder stated they grated a little more to assist with water drainage. However, drainage is obsolete. We tried covering with rocks but it made drainage worse. We are now paranoid about drainage everywhere and afraid to put up a shed. It is just stressful and the mud is horrible. You cannot get to a/c without stepping in an inch of mud. We had to turn off the sprinkler zone to that side of house. We are not sure how to correct this drainage without causing us a lot of work and/or money. Otherwise the rest of our experience has been good.
