Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

The build quality seemed to be sub par in areas, the light fixtures retire we requested are off position, and there are other areas like floor and walls that has issues. The initial booking and building process was ok though.

Working with [name removed] and the team was easy. She was very accommodating and informative. The Loan process was a bit stressful for me as my situation was a bit complicated but I felt that things were not fully explained to me upfront in this regard. Also a number of items that were called out on our initial walkthrough have not been completed and are still unresolved.

Was not impressed with the loan partner. Quality of home was not on par with what I expected, especially electrical work. Lose wiring, bracket defects, bathroom vent buttons not working just to name a few

It was fine. Everything went smoothly on the New [name removed] Co. side. It was Universal Lending that was awful.

[name removed] at The New [name removed] Company played an essential role in making our home-buying experience smooth and stress-free. From the very beginning, she kept us closely connected to the construction process by regularly sending us photos and updates. Living far from the new home, we truly appreciated how she helped us feel involved every step of the way. She was proactive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. When she learned about upcoming tax changes, she promptly informed us, ensuring there would be no surprises later. Even after she had been reassigned to other properties, [name removed] continued to support us without hesitation, guiding us through the final stages of the process with the same care and commitment. One of the most critical moments came when there was a delay and miscommunication between our lender and the title company. [name removed] quickly stepped in to coordinate communication between all parties—us, our mortgage broker, and the title company—and played a key role in ensuring that we still closed on time. Her dedication, responsiveness, and genuine care truly exceeded expectations. It was an absolute pleasure working with her, and we’re so grateful for everything she did to help us into our new home. -------------------------- [name removed] was incredibly helpful during our final walkthrough before closing. He was thorough and attentive, taking diligent notes on all the items that needed to be addressed. His follow-up with the construction crew was prompt and effective—he ensured that everything was taken care of both before and after closing. What stood out most was his depth of knowledge, down to the smallest details—he even knew the exact shade of paint used in a specific room! [name removed]’s professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to making sure everything was just right gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciated his support and dedication during such an important time.

[name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] were fantastic. [name removed] was completed on time. It was not as clean as it could have been when we moved in. It needed a good cleaning and some paint on tile in bath and laundry room.

Quality check and after move in repair, I have come up with a handful of items that impact my day to day living, I submit a request into the system, and I don’t hear back from the request, till I randomly get a call from an unknown number, stating it’s a contractor that is scheduled to fix something. The time windows are usually weekdays, hard to get Fridays, requiring me to take time off from my work, to meet a contractor. The home isn’t cheap, in order for us to be able to afford it, we have to be able to work, if I’m taking time off it means I’m not working! And since these are not easy to live with issues, I’m left with little choice.

I liked the Sales people. I didn't like when I was told that I am bound to Fidelity title company and then later on, it depends on builder. Reason being, in the closing cost there charges were very high compared to what I shopped for. It costed me couple of grands extra. Another thing is after first inspection, the repairs were not addressed in 2nd inspection and even 1 month after move-in. Only critical pieces were addressed. I saw the glues on toilet bottoms, chips on bath-tubs, scratches on french glass-door.
