Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

[Translated from ES] The prompt response to my request. The ease and speed of closing the deal after the purchase decision.

Constant communication from sales & construction on status updates, what was going to be happening when, and proactive scheduling with us on walks, orientations, etc.

I do not occupy this home as it is an investment property and so far the entire warranty/construction team and sales team have been great. The only warranty claim I have had to make was with Samsung for the microwave and I’m still working through that.

New Home Co did a good job throughout the process of kepping us informed about the progress of the home. The process of picking finishes(semi-custom) was easy. We enjoyed working with Isaiah and Brett on the construction elements. They were always responsive and helpful. There are elements of the home that were somewhat on the cheap side. Little things like having Decora switches, but using standard outlets. The can lights are not flush to the ceiling. The retaining wall was not deep enough(based on the opinion of external contractors and structural engineers). The garage was only partially drywalled. These construction cost choices felt on the cheap side for a million dollar home. We have not had any significant issues since moving into the home. The construction seems to be of high quality. The minor issues were dealt with in a timely manner with negligible effort. Dealing with the HOA has been challenging. I would say that they are not particularly responsive or efficient in handling requests. Given that there were only a handful of owners in the community when we moved in, it seems like it shouldn't have taken weeks to get responses. That being said, they did meet the timelines set out in the bylaws. This may just be an issue of being so new that they are not up to speed. Overall, we love our new home and with some minor improvements to cost choices and communication with the HOA, I'm sure that future homeowners will be even more pleased!

The construction of the home from design to finish walk-through was absolutely great those remarkable no issues no problems. Everything was resolved. The only problem we have was Lender side took too long and needed to reschedule I’m absurd amount of times. So far everything is well Ramona did a fantastic job. Jake has done him. Amazing job as well.

Nothing I really dislike, would have just hopped for better communication all the way through the process, especially at the start. We sometimes had to look for information ourselves but maybe it was related to going through the process with agents

Feel rushed but with how quick it was done. It felt good. It's a business and I understand that but felt pretty hand tied if we didn't place an offer we would loose the house. Didn't feel like they had anyone else line up for the home in my opinion (I don't know) but that was the only frustrating part about. But they helped in making up for it on the closing options.

The contractors (Jarrod & Carlos) that assisted me from the walk through all the way until after closing were amazing. Really made me comfortable and I trusted them to fix anything that came up. The banking gal that I worked with (Elsa Sanchez) from Universal Lending was not very helpful. Multiple times she either ignored my requests for information, or she said she would get it to me then never did.

Everything went really well! The thing I disliked most was that someone broke a chunk of concrete off the edge of my patio in the backyard. For 3/4 of a million dollars, I would have liked to see the patio concrete replaced not simply patched. Patches ALWAYS fail. The dining room ceiling light is way off center in the dining room making it hard to make the dining room not look awkward with a table. Things like light switches, electrical outlets and garage door openers are mounted crooked. I would expect these to be straight at a house at this price point.

We had a bump in the road with the elevation of the home we chose but Ramona did everything in her power to make the situation right for us.

Lack of communication from the Lending department Resolution of "punch list" items and learning how poorly the house was painted
