I liked the incentive program which allowed us to add items/value to our new home. We felt the closing part of the process with the title company representative was rushed and lacking some important information and processes. Also, our last name was misspelled on all of the closing documents which could cause problems for us down the road. Because of this we were very disappointed with the title company. The Giddens Homes part of the closing process was great.

What I liked most about my experience with Giddens Homes was the customer service and communication from the team. Andrew, in particular, has been responsive, helpful, and willing to work through the concerns we have raised. We are also very happy with the overall design of our home and are proud of what we built. What I disliked most was the lack of transparency during parts of the buying process and the number of quality and warranty issues we have continued to deal with after closing. There were several items, including fencing, the roadway behind our property, incentives, and available upgrades, that we did not feel were fully communicated upfront. Having that information earlier would have helped us make more informed decisions. Since moving in, we have also had ongoing concerns with the flooring, HVAC system, cosmetic finishes, concrete, landscaping, hydroseed, and epoxy. The flooring has required multiple repair attempts and, in some cases, has been further damaged during the repair process. We have also had repeated HVAC visits because of airflow and cooling concerns, but we still do not feel fully confident that the system is performing as it should. We paid for hydroseed, but several areas have not filled in completely and appear to need additional spraying. However, it does not seem that this is included under the warranty. We also discovered a couple of chips in the epoxy before move-in, but have been told those repairs may not be covered either. We used Giddens’ landscaping trade, but several plants died within the first 30 days or never properly established after planting. It has been disappointing to learn that these plants may not be covered for replacement. The most frustrating part has been the amount of time and follow-up required from us. We have had to coordinate multiple appointments, take time away from work, and continue addressing issues that have been present since move-in. While we appreciate the efforts of the Giddens team, the overall quality-control and buying experience has not met the expectations we had for a home at this price point.

Sales was difficult with things forgotten, completely disorganized, costing us lot of time to do things ourselves and time sitting and waiting for things him to get organized. We had to do our own reminders, and were stressed wondering what else we didn’t know about. Brent is fantastic! He’s super responsive, genuinely cares and takes pride in his work. The home came out beautiful but there were hiccups on the way that had we not been checking I wonder how things would be different. The electrical in the garage was most difficult.

Our sales representative, Michael Wagner, was excellent and the main reason we came back to Giddens for our second home. Adam Dreiss was the GC on our new home and did an exceptional job, delivering on each of our unique needs or requests. In the case he couldn't he was very transparent and did not commit to something he couldn't deliver. My wife and I really struggled selling our previous home and the Giddens family worked with us until we got it sold and we were very grateful for their actions. The only feedback we have on improvements, would be areas that we feel should be included in the purchase of a $1M+ home. Small details but a list of considerations: programming all garage door openers, sealing tile grout, greater selection of cabinet hardware or flexibility to purchase elsewhere and then installing, greater selection of barn doos or ability to purchase elsewhere and then installing, custom closet buildouts and landscaping flexibility. To speak more to landscaping, we had sections of our lawn that had 3' to 4" gaps between pieces of sod. In addition, the ability design beds, add edging or screening to prevent rodent/snake entry. Overall we are very happy with our home and would definitely recommend Giddens to our friends and family.

Working with John Onken and construction manager Steve Parks was a great experience. Steve was always prompt to answer and questions or requests that we had. He made sure everything was done correctly and that gave us peace of mind. Anytime an issue came up he had it taken care of right away. John was a pleasure to talk to and get to know. He took care of us on the sales side and you never got the feeling he was just trying to make a sale. It was a very personable experience. We have enjoyed getting to know these guys and having them take care of us through this process.

The Giddens team and entire process is customer focused at every step. Highlights were the structural options, low voltage, design center, and closing process. The binder and cooler were a big hit. The Giddens team is approachable, listens and accommodating to customer needs.

Once we made the decision to purchase, Adam took the reins, ensuring every detail was perfect for our final walkthrough. Having worked in the home building industry myself, I was incredibly impressed by the build quality. Even my HVAC contractor noted it was one of the cleanest builds he’s ever seen. We disliked that we had to find issues that Giddens did not, Example: patio pillar was not straight, outdoor lighting was not straight, shower was not done properly, the noticeable seam in carpet in the master bedroom and we very much disliked that during our first visit in June (visiting from Arizona) we were told the drawers and cabinets were not yet ‘finished’. We would have NOT purchased home without soft closing cabinets. We have had soft closing cabinets for many years…..Luxury and custom = soft closing cabinets. We would expect construction manager to notice items. It was tough to be one of the first in the neighborhood and see the other builders mow their lots for their customers and have fixtures for them. Pricing is in same ball park. Coming from Arizona builders- this is not luxury at all- it’s median household builds. We did like seeing the lot the home is on, the layout, beams in living room, the waterfall counter top & outlet available on counter. We appreciate Alex being responsive when we have concerns.
