Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

[name removed] financing was pretty disappointing. There was a $10K incentive to go with Shaddock Mortgage Finance but it turned out to be really a non-factor. We ended up having to go to a non [name removed] mortgage company and got a better deal.

I like the quality of our home and built very well one thing i feel little repetitive and recommend improvements is loan process. For the first time home buyers I expected loan process to be a smooth one and straight forward but I have to do couple of correction/reviews and i was under pressure couple times.

It’s been 1 month since we moved in and we still don’t have our porch lights installed. Our guest bathroom is still missing a light fixture. The HVAC unit that was installed was manufactured in 2022. The vent was making noise because of loose screws. We contacted the home warranty team twice about the lock not being installed correctly.

I liked the speed at which things progressed. However, I did not like the lack of communication. I had to hunt for information. I wish the [name removed] team had been more proactive with updates throughout the process.

I liked how [name removed] stayed in constant communication throughout the whole process. If any questions arose, [name removed] (sales agent) and [name removed] and [name removed] (finance) were always quick to respond and eager to help.

[name removed] and [name removed] were great. Really the people throughout were great. I felt some of the base inclusions of the house should’ve been higher considering the neighborhood. Every single thing was an upgrade. Windsor included things like stone on the outside of their homes and dark windows on the front and back without extra cost. [name removed] would be better off if they created some packages at certain levels. At times it felt like we were being nickel and dimed.

I appreciated [name removed]'s flexibility and willingness to work collaboratively with customers throughout the home-buying process leading up to closing. However, my experience changed drastically once the sale was finalized. After identifying several items that required attention, I was disappointed by the response from the site warranty representative. Rather than addressing the concerns constructively, his approach felt dismissive and, at times, disrespectful—appearing to discourage customers from even discussing potential items before pursuing warranty claims. I understand that imperfections and mistakes can happen, and I value a company that takes ownership and works to resolve them. That’s the very essence of a warranty: to offer assurance that issues will be handled in good faith. Unfortunately, my post-closing experience suggested otherwise—conveying the message, “The sale is done, and we’re no longer responsible.” It wasn’t until the director became involved that I experienced a level of professionalism appropriate to the situation. Without that intervention, I would have had no choice but to give the lowest possible rating. The way customers are treated after closing is just as important as the service provided beforehand. Failing to address post-sale concerns professionally not only erodes trust but also diminishes future referrals and damages the company's reputation.
