Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

First, my sales agent [name removed] was amazing. This was my first time buying a home. She walked me through the process step by step, helped to make the deal work, and was just an amazing communicator throughout my sales and closing process, which I consider the most important attribute in this type of process. [name removed], my construction manager was equally awesome. A great communicator and walked me through the blue tape and closing process, assisted me with any questions I had and did a great job on the home. The quality of the home is excellent and overall I am very happy with my new home. There were a few things that were forgotten from the inspection list, or I haven't had the ability to check like busted sprinkler, but the items were minor. [name removed] my warranty agent has also at least so far been great to communicate about any issues that have come up.

The Design Center process was the worst experience we had. There are quite a few choices to be made within the three appointments but we were not given any pre-work ahead of time including prices for the various upgrades. We felt very rushed and led to unnecessary tension. We understand certain options have to be custom priced, but we should know the standard pricing for converting a cabinet to a bank of drawers or adding soft close for example. Having the price list ahead of time keeps us from wasting time. We can make a quick decision and move on to the next item. Also, there may have been upgrades we missed because going from one level to the next may have been a small increase but was not brought to our attention. Electrical options were another sore point but no where near as bad as the design center. Again having pricing/options ahead of time so we can do our homework can save a lot of time and avoid making or missing decisions. We are in almost a 2 million dollar home not a cookie cutter one. Attention level has to be different (if we are willing to do the homework, let us do that). I put these on corporate policies versus our sales rep and project manager. Working with our project and sales manager was an absolute joy though. They listened to our concerns and tried their best to alleviate them. Nothing written above should be new information. Our agent also experienced the same frustrations. She was at all of our meetings. Our reps at [name removed] (Jan Hill) and [name removed] ([name removed]) were excellent. They made the process go better. [name removed] handcuffed [name removed] in the beginning as no lighting plan was given to them. We had to use our layout which didn't accurately reflect standard lighting spots. Big miss on the [name removed] side. [name removed] was good but slow to work with on our customizations but still glad we worked with them.
