Homebuilder Customer Reviews

No one knows more about a homebuilder's quality and service than the builder's customers.

Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

In "Homebuilder Customer Reviews", we present the ratings and comments collected from new-home buyers at these three points in time.

Eliant verifies that only evaluations completed by actual customers are included in this "Homebuilder Customer Reviews" site. No other evaluations - whether collected by the builder or those appearing on other public sites - are included here. All customer comments are included verbatim, no editing is permitted.

Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

We chose our home because it was advertised online as having upgraded appliances ( gas stove top and convection oven and fireplace ). Our home.did come with the stove top and fireplace but not the convection oven. We caught this oversight before we closed on the home (12/4/24) and was acknowledged by the Construction Manager that it was advertised with a convection oven. The construction manager put in a request to have the issue addressed. We reached out several times to see if there was a resolution yet but as of today 1/19/25 have heard nothing back about this issue. The upgraded appliances were a major factor in purchasing the house we got and we would like to have what was advertised or have something else offered in place of the oven either monatary or some other appliance such as a new fridge of equal value of a convection oven.We did appreciate the way some minor issues that were found were addressed by [name removed] our construction manager and were dealt with in a timely manner. [name removed] has been very helpful in answering questions and helping us navigate the process of getting a new home. [name removed] our salesperson was awsome during the whole process keeping us updated during the whole home buying process.

The purchase process was very easy to navigate in all stages. I had one important issue with the preferred lender, which was a huge set back for us. We entered the home purchase process confident that we were going to be approved for FHA loan. In the last week I got a call form the lender informing that due to the type of visa I wouldn't be able to get approved for FHA and should move to conventional (with a high PMI). If they would have checked this in the early stage, I wouldn't have had that headache at the end.

The sales agent, [name removed], was amazing at explaining everything and answering any questions we had. There were good deals that came with the house, ex lower interest rate, fridge, washer, dryer. Dislike is the house loan company we had to use to get the deal. UMH was very disorganized and did not communicate within their team causing us to submit stuff twice to different people when they already had the documents.

Everything was set up to be a very easy process. Our builder was great, easy to get a hold of and explained everything about the house in simple easy to understand terms. Also got all the extra things we needed to close ready by the time they were needed done.

Like: Trophy is truly a modern budget friendly builder. I think most buyers would be satisfied with what’s considered standard. I love the open concept plans and the all the finishing touches are truly modern. Icing on the cake is having a construction manager like [name removed]. Someone who’s attentive and quickly addresses issues. Dislike: Having to pick from lots where the exterior and elevation and interior have already been determined. I think If a buyer is contracting early enough they should be able to pick their desired elevation, brick color, and interior color package even if it’s at a premium. Biggest Dislike: Having to go with builders lender in order get an incentive. The loans are priced significantly above market rates. Had I realized this sooner I would’ve went with an outside lender and passed on the closing incentive.
