Purchase process was very frustrating trying to negotiate with President. [name removed] did an amazing job trying to mediate but would not recommend someone else going through that. Home building process was a bit of a disaster. Thank goodness I did a 4 phase inspection to catch all the issues that went on with the building of our home. The structural build was so bad with all the shimming and poor quality control that I had to pay for a structural engineer to come in to thoroughly review the frame job. The home closed in mid-November. We signed the contract late-Jan / early-Feb so it took almost 10 months to get to that point. During the buying process, we were told the home could be finished in 5 months so this took twice as long as that because of the poor project management of the home building. Even when we were trying to close and doing the final walk throughs, there were so many little things that we called out that were not fixed the first walkthrough that our time was wasted just for it be called out again on the second walkthrough. Even after moving in we found more issues that should have been addressed beforehand. Grand Home needs to have someone doing quality control before having the home buyer do it.

There were several things I did not like. I would have liked better inventory that is in line with Grand’s reputation. Inventory is dated. What are standard with other builders, Grand Homes considered as upgrade. Lacks quality control of trades for Grand’s brand. I had high expectations of Grand and was disappointed during and after the processed.

One thing that I didn’t like was so many changes that with out my knowledge. Some of changes were annoying. I feel like the changes were meant to increase the amount of money to cover the losses. I actually purchased soft lights for exterior front door on top of the house. And they company (Grand homes) got me cheapest soft lights which was not even a fraction of what I paid for. It was one of my highest disappointment. I asked and no one was listening. Other than that I am happy with everything

The quality of construction. There was no quality control in place when the house was built. Now we are stuck with cosmetic issues that are not covered by the warranty. Being one of them and the biggest of all the circle on the stairs that is egg shape and trim crooked. Warranty has done most of the fix and they try above and beyond, but there some stuff that is not covered in the warranty for being cosmetic. And don't get me started with the experience with the design center, a couple stuff that we order and then after construction we realized it wasn't added.

The warranty team has done phenomenal work to fix all the issues i've raised ever since I've moved in the house. I want to thank them especially [name removed] who is always super friendly, takes time to understand the issue and follows up timely. Sales person changed multiple of times with lack of communication if any. Lender used via grand homes was horrible at communication as well (original person I was dealing with, quit, and I was never informed nor was there any communication regarding my loan after multiple of attempts; had to get the sales manager involved to get any response). Closing was horrible as well, delay in getting the keys even after knowing the closing date/time. Front desk made inappropriate discriminatory remarks at closing that was not appreciated. No one knew where my mail keys were initially, took a few weeks. The whole process was a nightmare. Grand homes quality and status is not what it used to be since 2006 when I made it a goal to purchase one, was a disappointment for sure.
