Purchase Experience Testimonials from Real Homebuyers

Wylie, TX, on Apr 03, 2026

The experience was great at the very beginning, especially before signing the agreement. After signing, some issues arose leading up to move-in. While many problems were eventually resolved, the post-contract phase could have been handled more smoothly. However, [name removed], the contractor responsible for my home, was incredibly helpful, supportive, and a pleasure to work with, he truly made the process easier.

The builders for Grand Homes have been helpful from the construction of our home through our first year warranty walk. Great people.

I like the support service provided by [name removed] so far. The minor inconveniences that people face post moving in were resolved to my satisfaction.

The follow up on issues that have arisen has been very inconsistent. It took months to get a resolution on it and still when everything was done no one from the "corporate office" contacted us to confirm all the work was done completely. Questions were left unanswered and I still have an open issue regarding the constant trampling of our drip irrigation system by Grand Home construction crews across the street that has not had follow up. We have had - since Nov - three warranty reps so there is no continuity of service. The sales process was fantastic but the design experience with [name removed] was unremarkable in every way - at every turn there was a surprise or lack of disclosure. It's a shame.

I greatly appreciated that [name removed], the construction manager, was consistently communicative throughout the entire process and took the time to address any concerns I had. He, along with [name removed], the sales manager, has continued to respond promptly to my questions even after the move-in process, which speaks volumes about their commitment to customer service. While there were a few minor cosmetic issues, the overall quality of the home turned out very well. Their dedication, professionalism, and follow-through made a meaningful difference in my experience. I truly believe [name removed] and [name removed] are invaluable assets to the company and play a significant role in its success. With that said, I would gladly choose Grand Homes again for a future home and sincerely hope that [name removed] and [name removed] will still be there to be part of the process

The whole process was well planned by GH, and the communication with all invovled was very good. The quality and design of the house is better than any other of the seven builders I looked at in the Rockwall area before chosing GH to be our builder. [name removed] was my first contact after being directed to her by another GH sales person in another Rockwall GH location who knew immediately after visiting with me that I would want a lot in the Edgewater development. [name removed] has been eager to assist in any way, pleasant to work with, and very communicative as we have needed information. [name removed], the GH builder for our house, was helpful and attentive throughout the build. The one dislike we have is that with the push to get the house finished for the closing on the last day in January, [name removed] made some promises for after the closing to handle some cosmetic details that he did not follow through on. However, this will fade in our memory quickly when we move in this week and get to begin enjoying the wonderful house GH built for us in a lovely location.

All lies and false promises in time of purchase my lot. I have been told that in front of my lot would be park. However, it is false information and now build house. My property front looks like sewer collector because the front cement alley tilt to my property and I don't have any chance to use my front of the house since after the rain all water and dirt is stays in my property. It looks like it is built for me to live in the mud while other house have a clean road. I had been promised that my house location will be slightly moved on the side to get my backyard larger but they forget to do it and placed a concrete fundament straight. More over, no one told me that my sewer clean-outs would be placed near by the backyard porch that placed all my family members in danger since we always tripped over it and my granddaughter was in the hospital with the injury of her head over house bricks after she is tripped over these clean-outs. When I came to get inspection for the house it was set it up the way that I even didn't have any time to check everything properly, 9:00 am inspection and 11:00 I have to be in the Title company to pay in full and sign all documents. When I moved to the house, all paint was wet and man places where I put my stuff were damaged because the wet paint come out and attached to anything I placed. The quality of paint was horrible because the white paint even wasn't mixed up properly and many places have a blue dyes to expose that paint wasn't mixed up properly. The quality of many things in the house looks like some one built with the second grand school level person. After the rain the water is not going to the gutters, it comes to my head directly when I open a patio door. During the snow time it as build up a huge heel of ice and snow in the middle of the patio door that I wouldn't able to open it. Since the dirt and water coming to the front of my house, the patio door wasn't useable at all at the same time. My friends came from California to purchase a new house for them and saw all these problems, were shocked. They decided never purchase from Grand Homes then they eventually purchased from the Unionmaine company that was better quality. There was a lot of problems and I would never suggest purchase any houses from your company.

Quality control was a major issue. Several aspects of the workmanship did not meet expectations at closing—doors were uneven, doorknobs were loose or falling off, there were visible cracks at wood joints, and paint was discolored in multiple areas. Pricing transparency and scope clarity were also concerns. Upgrade costs and pricing were not always clearly explained upfront, and some features we discussed at the beginning—such as a pot filler and a bar—were ultimately missed or not included, which was disappointing.

Design center experience was below expectations. Selections were alright, but our designer did not meet our expectations in terms of suggesting per our taste, took much longer for nailing down choices as she is not ready with required information. Builder [name removed] was great. Sales agent [name removed] was awesome! Post move-in warranty response was great too!

Like- Working with [name removed] (Sales Lead) and [name removed] (Construction Manager) made our experience well worth it. From the beginning, we had open and honest conversations about every inch in building a home. If an issue arose, we voiced our concerns and they professionally handled every situation with grace and honesty. Its the reason why we decided to pursue our home with Grand. From house tours, design studio, construction and post-sale, these 2 have been absolutely incredible to work with! Dislike- Design center felt like a rush, for a company this large there has to be a way to automate and digitalize the options. We did not know that the whole house (brick, electrical, exterior and interior) would all have to be selected in under 6 hours with no alloted changes. That just does not seem fair when making an almost million dollar decision. Grand Homes needs to simplify the process and either place design options online or add additional meetings. We also wish there were additional floorplans in this community as we were limited to just a few options that didn't completely fit our family needs.
