Most of the first time home buyers need all closing cost break downs. Please provide 1 page check list what is being paid upfront with duration. Services like gas, electricity, sewage ,trash required to take/transfer.

One thing that cost me additional money was process of POA through foreign ministry in Jamaica and yet the lender never asked or approved for this process and eventually was about to cost me my house deal and escrow as lender wanted Notary from US embassy only. Title company played no role in assisting this process.

Emails went unanswered. Email with wrong dollar amount required at closing was sent to me 24 hours prior to close -- fortunately my lender and I knew the correct amount and ignored First American's incorrect amount. Title office was empty at closing and appointment time was not kept. Funds were received by Title Company hours before closing and yet builder was not notified in a timely manner, holding up delivery of keys. Worst experience ever with a Title Company. Would never recommend and will go out of my way to tell others to avoid First American.

No one greeted me when I came to settlement. I sat out front alone for 15 minutes and I was asked “who are you” not “not how May I help you”. Otherwise everything else was good.

The staff could not answer any of our questions. One question was “what is the HUD” and I felt like this was basic question they should know. I went home and got the information from my lender. During the process not knowing what it was caused a lot of stress and anxiety. No one communicated beforehand I needed to wire funds or bring cashier s check. I brought a personal check. We waited for over 2 hours waiting on an additional document to be sent over from lender “to add to the hud” when it arrived it was a document already signed and [name removed] did not even realize it. I had to ask for a copy of all my paperwork. They were extremely busy and appeared stressed by it. When a lender came he was very frustrated with [name removed] for her lack of knowledge and made a sharp statement to get her to realize what he was saying. When we sat down with them they appeared very rushed to get the paperwork signed with basic information. Any extra questions they could not provide. Wish my lender could have been there. When asked about details of them paying off my car they became very defensive as if I didn’t trust they would do it. I simply asked for the check number to have for my records in case something happened in the future. Which [name removed] did call to say payment was late but since I had information I did provide so I don’t see why [name removed] has a problem with me asking for her check number and who was writing it. Their office space and lobby is crammed, small and they had multiple closings. Made it very uncomfortable. The magazines are very old, pages even yellowing. They did not offer us coffee or water during our wait. A little traumatizing. Not happy and not impressed.

Seemed unprofessional my loan was sold immediately which is fine but it’s not correct escrow so I have to work on getting that corrected. You send me junk mail everyday after selling my loan
